...not that I'm complaining, but...

Aside from the face, he looks like a straight Dreadknight repaint. And I know that makes sense overall, but why the giant helmet fins? Has Black Knight had giant fins before?

The Avengers Alliance game. He had it in the comics previously as well.

Yeah, right after that post, I find the Avengers Alliance artwork :D

Any other reveals? And where did you get the image from?

Don't get me wrong, I love most of Marvel's movies but the whole "dark mirror" of the heroes for their primary antagonist is getting kind of old. And that is what most of the movies have given us, minus GOTG, Thor 2 and Civil War - I do consider Winter Soldier in CA: TWS to be Cap's "Dark Mirror" but obviously he changed on that for Civil War."

IM: Iron Monger = dark mirror, but he was the first and it's Jeff Bridges so I forgive that
Hulk: Abomination = dark mirror
IM2: Whiplash and Justin Hammer = shared dark mirrors
Thor: Loki = different
CA: Red Skull = dark mirror, they make a point of it
Avengers: Loki+army = different
IM3: Killian = I'm not sure where I'd lump him besides boring
Thor 2: Malekith = different but again boring
CA TWS: Winter Soldier = dark mirror, and Alexander Pierce = dark mirror to Fury
GOTG: Ronan = different
AoU: Ultron = dark mirror to IM
Ant-Man: Yellowjacket = dark mirror
CA CW: Zemo = different but barely around
Dr Strange: Kaecilius = dark mirror, Dormammu isn't there enough for me to label him
GOTG2: Ego = different (until the end when Star-Lord shares his powers)
SM Homecoming: Vulture = different and Michael Keaton!
Of the 16 movies released so far 8 have definitely featured dark mirror antagonists. This isn't automatically a bad thing for any movie but it has become overall formulaic and tiring, additionally some of the villains that aren't dark mirrors are flat and/or underused.

Tomax 10-28-2017 10:54 AM

hmm, i dont kno how i feel about black knight? think ill pass on that one. ill rather get Ares over b/knight

hasbroherofan 10-28-2017 10:59 AM

Killmonger is ironically, one of the few cases where I think the whole evil counterpart/dark mirror thing is justified. Black Panther's suit can stand up to machine gun fire and a whole host of other elements, so if the audience is expected to believe Killmonger actually can actually fight him hand to hand, wearing something similar makes sense.

I do agree though, he looks way cooler without the suit.

Love that BK will finally be re-done by Hasbro, Another Avenger for my classic A-team, but I'm snipping off those helmet wings.

Black Bolt has super strength, can fly and in actuality, his voice is his curse, not really his sole power. He uses the destructive power of his voice usually as a last resort.

Namor is a hybrid human/Atlantean aka Marvel's 1st mutant, though I never considered him X-men material . He is a heavy hitter in the strength/invulnerability/flight dept and has thrown down with all of Marvel's heavy hitters such as Thor, Hulk, IM, Thing & more than held his own. I will however not be buying that IM figure as the armor looks cheesy & the Stark head cartoony. I'm just gonna wait till Hasbro does a classic Bronze age comic version of the red/yellow armor from the 70s/80s era. BK minus the helmet wings:

I just wish the "Black Panther" wave was more "Black Panther characters" and less "guys who are kinda sorta connected to Panther because Illuminati," at least as far as comic characters go, you know?

Ah well, at least there's the Klaw/Shuri pack.

Yeah Black Bolt knocked Hulk around once and never had to open his mouth to do it, I don't remember if he actually won the fight. For those that don't know his root power has do to with energy absorption which is then directed throughout his body, it just so happens that his voice is an almost uncontrollable main channel for release of energy. As Parademon1 said he can use his powers to fly, he has superhuman strength and to an extent durability, and he can channel direct energy blasts. His voice is the nuclear option, not his go-to attack.

Yeah. Given how long they held the Black Panther movie figures close to the chest, we're probably not gonna see the rest of that Avengers wave for a while. It was rumored the others were Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man and Vision, likely the movie versions.

Boy Blunder 10-28-2017 01:04 PM

There's still one more convention before the end of the year that Hasbro mentioned they'd be showing stuff off at, so we may still see at least one more reveal.

SymbiSpidey 10-28-2017 02:20 PM

Wow, so I went to work at Walgreens today and found a lone Medusa on the toy aisle.

I wasn't expecting her this early. Best believe I'm getting her.

I don't know what is even left to show at this point.

warmachine6 10-28-2017 02:41 PM

More x-men figures hopefully , the BAF for avengers wave also they have only shown 4 figures king cobra, task master (classic) Songbird and black knight

I was saying we probably aren't gonna see those for a while because the rest of the wave are likely actual Infinity War figures. Even the BAF is rumored to be Thanos.

donmeca2020 10-28-2017 05:35 PM

So i went to 2 TRU outlets here in orlando while i'm vaca here. So far nothing worth buying just tons of the Man-thing wave, the ragnarok wave, and tons of ex nihilo figures.... bah

I think a case can be made that in Thor 1 Loki is a dark mirror of Thor. Both start out arrogant, entitled and ambitious, and wanting the throne for glory and power.

Nice! Like this, good stuff!

hasbroherofan 10-28-2017 06:55 PM

Interestingly Black Knight wasn't in the original leak, which would indicate someone has been bumped.

AFU 10-28-2017 07:02 PM

From the BP wave, love BP, BB with the alternative head, and Namor looks better than his Walgreens Exclusive...But, the figure I am really interested in is the Iron Man...I love that armor! The rest of figs are a pass, but BP’s nemesis in black and gold costume looks interesting...
