Yeah Black Bolt knocked Hulk around once and never had to open his mouth to do it, I don't remember if he actually won the fight. For those that don't know his root power has do to with energy absorption which is then directed throughout his body, it just so happens that his voice is an almost uncontrollable main channel for release of energy. As Parademon1 said he can use his powers to fly, he has superhuman strength and to an extent durability, and he can channel direct energy blasts. His voice is the nuclear option, not his go-to attack.

Black Bolt info:

Blackagar Boltagon

Height
6' 2"

Weight
210 lbs

Powers
Black Bolt has the ability to unleash great destructive power through the use of his voice, but even the slightest whisper will release his power. Therefore, for the most part, he remains silent. This "quasi-sonic" scream is powered by electron energy that he draws in from the environment. At maximum the force is equal to that caused by the detonation of a nuclear weapon. Other possible manifestations of this harnessed electron energy include electron energy blasts, flight, enhanced strength (the "Master Blow" being a superhuman punch), ability to survive in space, and the ability to analyze and manipulate matter. The fork-shaped antenna that Black Bolt has worn upon his brow since childhood enable him to channel his powers in more directed, less destructive ways. Due to the fear of speaking while sleeping, Black Bolt practices a form of meditation, which may also help to enhance his abilities.

He also uses his "master blow" as a second to last resort before he uses his vocals. I remember he once whispered a single syllable into Gladiator's ear and sent him reeling in pain due to Gladiator's enhanced super hearing. Black Bolt is a very awesome character, I feel for those of you choosing not to get him or Namor. Those are my 2 most wanted figures.

"Stupid" doesn't do justice to the levels of absurdity that Namor vs Aquaman fight represents (not to mention a bunch of other fights from that crossover series).

Let's see - large bull orcas can weigh between 6 and 10 tons (12,000 to 20,000 lbs) , while a hydrated Namor is class 100/100+ meaning he can press in excess of 100 tons (or, in other terms, better than 200,000 lbs and up).

Yeah, that fight would not have gone down that way...

Man, whenever I see you post, I’m reminded of how much I need Blue Marvel in my collection. I’d like to see the helmeted version and/or the Ultimates version. Connor Sims too.

Hopefully we’ll see them in a future BP wave, due to the Ultimates connection.

Found the MJ 2 pack today at my TRU... had 4 of them among a sea of Kurt Russell 2 packs... was pretty stoked about that.

Personally with the Black Knight Reveal I am hoping that we get at least 2 or 3 different helmet variations packed with him. Winged, Knight style (90's), and classic Bucket head. Since most of the figure is reused parts, they could splurge on extra heads. Multiple man will have 3 so I am hopeful for Black Knight.

hasbroherofan 10-29-2017 10:04 AM

The cynical part of me thinks that Black Knight might just be the cheap economical character of the wave to offset the tooling for the others, much like Odinson in the recent Ragnarok one.

Except that all the others revealed for the wave (Songbird, King Cobra, and Classic Taskmaster) all have minimal new tooling as well. Hell, Taskmaster's head looks to be a repaint of his Red Onslaught version, or at least use the same hood piece.

I thought Songbird had more new parts, but I'll have to look again. Regardless, I'm not expecting too much with Black Knight in the way of accessories, was my original point.

Just got back from Alamo comic con & was able to get ML Jackal/ Toy Biz ML wave 2 Namor, Hasbro Ms Marvel/Carol Danvers & ol school TB Dracula figure for $60 total. $15 a fig is not bad I think considering that asides from Jackal, the other 3 go for more than that on ebay.

Snapped a quick pic of Drac vs Blade:

Even a body builder could be knocked out if the weights he normally lifts with ease fall right on top of him, especially if caught off guard. So even if those numbers for Namor are accurate, it was still possible that the blow was enough to take him down long enough to count.

Face it, the only fight that didn't work in that series was Lobo vs. Wolverine, where even the writers had to put the outcome off panel to make it work. Everything else makes sense or can be explained easily enough.

The numbers are right; 2,000 lbs equals 1 ton, adult male orcas range in weight between 8,000 - 12,000 lbs (with a maximum weight in the wild being recorded at 20,000 lbs), and a combination of OHMU/Marvel Encyclopedia/online-resource stats and various updates over the years that have all listed Namor as being exactly that strong.

Your comparison of Namor to 'human' bodybuilders is a poor choice (IMO) in that you haven't considered Namor's superhuman endurance and resistance to injury. High caliber bullets deflect off of him and I've personally consumed comics in which he's shrugged off mortar fire. Additionally, not only does he survive the rigors of high oceanic pressure, I've read comics in which he's casually endured Marianas level depths while floating within feet of an underwater volcano. Suffice it to say, he's pretty damn tough. Anyone capable of having pitched "fist fights" with Thor, Hercules, and the Hulk is likely to be unfazed by such a meager (comparably) attack.

I'm not sure what I need to "face" regarding those cross-over events. They were pretty widely panned, with only the staunchest of fan-boys/girls (on either side) taking them seriously. Just as a 'for instance,' let's look at the Juggs vs Supes match-up. I'm by no means a Juggs fan. In fact , I'm much more invested in the character of Superman given that he's a childhood favorite of mine (what can I say, he appeals to the corny 'boy-scout' in me). However, being a fan of Clark, I know his second weakness is magic. Cyttorak and his gem (Juggs by extension, obviously) represent some very potent Marvel magic easily on par with DC's Philospher Stone, Nabu's Helmet of Fate, the Spear of Destiny, etc. Juggs, or any magical heavy-weight (Thor, Beta-Ray, Herc, the Destroyer), should present serious problems to Supes. We've seen this with Etrigan and Captain Marvel...

Boy Blunder 10-29-2017 05:12 PM

TBM speaks truthfully. I loved that comic when it came out, but even then I rolled my eyes at how poorly the fights turned out.

But that's what happens when the outcomes are decided by fan vote.

Parademon1 10-29-2017 05:19 PM

Namor is easily a top 20, if not top 10 heavy hitter in the MU, as you just mentioned, Namor has gone mano y mano vs Thor, Herc, Hulk, Black Bolt, the Thing & Ironman and more than held his own vs all of them. Dropping a whale on him & making that be the cause of his defeat at the hands of Aquaman was laughable. That some people here are dissing his classic & most popular look as a figure cuz he's an almost naked man in swim trunks shows me how little comic knowledge they have on the character. Probably the "I only know of MU characters cuz of the movies" crowd.

Namor has shrugged off heavy MG fire, tank shells, repulse blasts from IM, the impact of Thor's hammer, the fists of Hercules & the Thing among other things, no pun intended. Namor is like Aaron Rogers, he's a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad man!
