This custom was bound and determined to kick my a$$ but I finished it anyway. Not my best work but it will fill in the gap in the 90's X-men roster until hasbro makes him.

Badass! Makes me want to see a Cable custom that uses the Jim Lee Cyclops webgear vest strap.

We need malestrom and Deathurge too! I'm SO tempted to take the FF Comic Pack Spidey and a Moon Knight cape and make Deathurge!

Martyr too! Though I still want the modern Quasar pre-quantum bands reclaiming. I like those big gloves he wields, and I absolutely loathe the campy classic costume. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll be one of those we get both on since his designs are very divisive among fans. The modern armored one could be done with parts from modern Ryder Nova, and the classic could use a more normal clean buck.

Jason Abbadon 08-09-2012 06:35 PM

Quasar's 90's costume actually made sense- the one with no mask and starfield cape-
that cape is actually a portal into deep space!
It's all part of Quasar's role as Eternity's Avatar- sorta a life version of Thanos' role.

His pre-quantum bands one and current one still have the star cape and he still doesn't wear a mask. It's just more armored per his whims because of how he much more aware of his powers he is now after he came back from being celestial pure energy.

Again to each their own though. I just tend to favor more armored heroes than the campier older costumes. Many fans like his newer looks over his old, and many like his old over the newer.

Sorry for quality no cam

Looks cool! What body was used for Red Skull?

WalkingDeadpool 08-09-2012 07:11 PM

Funny thing....about 3 years ago broken arrow made th ROM kit....he sculpted it and everything...That's one of hs cast and customs....He would sell the whole cast of the fig unpainted for like 65$...But since he has been such a douche these few past years,I doubt you can get one from him again......

Nah- the reason for the costume change was the free hand the artist had in Annihilation- sometimes it seemed Marvel just could have cared less about cosmic characters (as evidenced by the "artist" assigned to the Super Skrull miniseries tie-in) and Annihilation saw all sorts of charcater re-designs- Annihilus, Firelord, Super Skrull, Ronan, Phyla Vell the introduction of Red Shift and Stardust- it was an artist's bonanza. Most, like Annihilus were great, others, like removing Firelord's mouth, seemed drug-induced. Still, the story rocked so some changes were fine.

But it's no coincidece that Quasar and Nova's updated looks were by the same guy- he loooves them impractical pointy shoulder armor things!

Also, Quasar always had the Quantum Bands- they can be fashioned into different shapes to fit the wearer- past Protectors Of the Universe were avian or snaklelike or whatever. having a glowing gem on each leg is just senseless though- they'd have to be connected to the bands on the arms somehow...

I think it's more that no one at marvel expected the tsunami of pissed off Quasar fans when he was killed- or the total lack of support for Marvel's replacment Quasar (Phyla Vell). It's like they dont learn anything from past mistakes- they assumed Quasar fans would flock to Phyla Vell's title since, hey, it's the same name, right? now they're doing the same stupidity with Nova- assuming the popularity of Richard Rider will translate into popularity for Lobdell's nonsense.
It'll fail and Marvel will say "Gee, no one wants cosmic stories- we'll add on some more deadpool and Wolverine..."

Get the Heroclix Ant man for a buck online- it's 1000% better than the MU version anyway!

They have different UPCs? I noticed the paint is different on the Iron Man, but that's about it...

Yes, being a completionist is a bitch.

The only person I've ever heard to own the Black-eyed Panther is Shawn Woodbeck. Straight Legs Blade was likely never released, but here's the stock photo:

That is not a Walking Dead #1, it's two, lol. I accidentally bought two back in 2001 when I first started collecting the series. I got them both signed by Kirkman at SDCC last year. :)

Lol. I guess it turned out to only be 3. But that's probably 3 too many if you ask me. I like Captain Marvel too, but not that much... like I said, OCD is a bitch. Gotta check off those boxes!

mikefavata 08-09-2012 10:25 PM

Do your #1's have black or white warnings?

I've got every issue except for #2, just haven't been able to bring myself to pony up the $.

Yeah, that's a cool Crossbones! Better looking than the First Avenger line figure.
For Skull there I would say its a IM2 Nick Fury body with new hands. Am I right?

That's a good question, I don't know. Should I look? I know that both of them have 'first printing' on the inside...

Nope, it took me a long time to pony up for those. At their cheapest, they're about $1.25 a box!

WalkingDeadpool 08-10-2012 02:30 AM

I just bought Blastaar, blastaar Var,Jub,Prof x,and paper bag spidey for 130 off ebay...

Just don't trust hasbro that these will hit retail,or have a short run and be impossible to find in stores....

As to the Spidey like's Scorpion, it's the Ultimates-verse version so it's got a Spider Man body- I'm useing mine for a Beetle custom.

those are really cool ideas , I can totally see those as being legit stuff.

I was going to use his Dad's head, Anakin but Hasbro makes Anakin always with a mad expression and I dont think Quasar is like that.
