Guys please no movie spoilers..... i probably won't go see it til next week,so i would prefer to see everything on screen instead on here on the legend thread.

I'm not sure those holes on the sheath really mean anything. Toys that are hollow in the middle like ML Doc Ock's bendable arms have holes in them. I would assume that it's part of the manufacturing process

It was in the movie, although she was in her other costume for that last fight, too.

That may also be true about the holes on the sheath, but that just makes it worse. A somewhat useless accessory for an honestly cheaply done sword.

No one has spoiled anything yet. So far nothing has been said that you couldn't already see in the trailers.

Than you for the reminder! Yes, it is lite spoilers, but it's still spoilers none the less. Talking about how good this or that actor/actress was sort of counts. I think given the movie hasn't even been out 72 hours the side of caution should be erred on (to turn a phrase.)

And...MCU legends wave for villains? Sure. Even though I'm more of a comic than MCU figure collector, some would be nice. Ronan is probably top of the list for me.

hasbroherofan 11-05-2017 07:56 AM

It's times like this I wish there was a spoiler tag function here.

Dr Kain 11-05-2017 08:29 AM

Why would they reveal a figure to the second wave when they haven't even revealed the entire first wave?

Dark World is by far the worst movie of the MCU, but I consider Thor 1 to be one of the best. It is very Shakespearian.

Tomax 11-05-2017 08:32 AM

^^ thats true

A couple of things. First, The Incredible Hulk has and will always be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Second, as a person who unapologetically loves the first Thor, he was in no way moping in the desert. He was cocky, he was arrogant, and got a very hard lesson in life from his father to prove his worthiness. The scene where you see him "down" is after he finds out he still can't lift the hammer, he believes his father is dead, and he cannot return home. And even after all that, once he's released from SHIELD's custody he is in good spirits because he understands what his father was trying to teach him.

In no way am I bashing your opinion, because film is subjective, but I found the first Thor to be a Shakespearean dream come true. So many positive things came out of that movie.

Now with that being said...Thor: Ragnarok is on a different level of great. A fun ride from beginning to end with very high stakes. Hats off to Taika Waititi, Kevin Feige, and the entire cast and crew.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt8rMKu7100 (he talks about it about 16 minutes in).

Grain of salt but I'd be all for it if true.

I really, really hope this is true. I expect big merchandise and lots of Marvel Legends for the 10 year anniversary, but this would be just what I need. An Abomination, Whiplash, Red Skull, Mark 7 Iron Man, "Mandarin", Ronan, Quicksilver, Yellowjacket, and Crossbones are the figures that come to mind.

Harbinger 11-05-2017 09:05 AM

An mcu crossbones would have to come with a scarred brock rumlow head. And while not really a villian the baf for the wave could be the im3 igor armor.

Bo Ttef 11-05-2017 09:48 AM

If I could get RedSkull and a Hydra Trooper from The First Avenger I would be happy-

This is what Kenneth Branagh brings to the table. It made sense I think to bring the guy that made the best Shakespeare movies in to do the first Thor but maybe they should've kept him on for the second one. I haven't seen Ragnarok yet but I'm a fan of Taika Waititi's other stuff so I am looking forward to seeing it eventually.

Re: rumored MCU wave; if it pans out to be true I'd like to see Civil War Crossbones, Yellowjacket, Ronan, and Shocker but if the theme of the wave is 10 years of the MCU then I wouldn't be surprised if the wave is mostly just repaints and re-issues of the heroes and villains we already got. That would suck in my opinion but I could see something like that happening.

Have you ever tried to get the trigger finger free with an exacto knife?

On my Walgreens Punisher, I never had any problems with the bandanna head but I always thought the plain head looked drunk.

I meant to type "non-bandanna'ed" head..."drunk" is an understatement.

I saw it Friday. Here's a spoiler for you: while it was a funny and entertaining movie, it didn't feel remotely like "THOR." Taika is hilarious and I normally like his work, but I hope they tap him for a different property moving forward.

hmm, i was afraid of that. why are they making marvel movies funny now. was it due to deadfool or GOTG? this is not good, i prefer serious superheros movies, could be due to disney making everything 'kid friendly'

This would likely have way more to do with GotG than Deadpool. Deadpool was funny but in a very not for kids kind of way with the R rating and all. GotG though was funny in a way that was accessible to kids and was also a huge success for a movie based on comic characters that only dedicated readers were really aware of before the movie so I'm sure then that Marvel Studios looked at that comedic angle as the remedy to fix/sell any production which might be seen as too "comic-like" in concept such as the more colorful world of Thor seen in the now classic version of the comics. My big concern now though with the movie opening up to good reception and income means that we might see the comics now adopt this sillier, more comedic attitude just like what happened with the GotG comics. Before the movie GotG comics were about a group of misfits who banded together to stop reality from ripping open into another with some quips or jovial moments thrown in to keep things from being just doom and gloom. After the movie came out the comics were basically just copying the characters from the MCU instead of continuing what had been, space-pirate A-holes out for their own with only a side serving of any actual galaxy guarding. So is Thor in the comics now gonna become another funny hero book where Thor is a space bruh? With a character like Spider-Man who has pretty much always been a funny guy in the comics who makes quips as sharp as he spins webs it makes sense to get a movie with humor, but I am wary of just how many other heroes they've decided to push hard with that angle and what it might do to the comics. Part of what made the MCU work so well out the gate was that they knew to keep things fun and light but there's a line between being fun and just being a joke-fest.

There's always been an element of humor within the MCU films, but GotG represented a turn toward heavy use of comedic vehicles across the board. Casual fans enjoy the yuks and super-flicks have replaced rom-coms as 'date' movies. I enjoy laughing, when it's appropriate and it suits the character. However, I don't really think 'slapstick' when I think Thor/Ragnarok/Planet Hulk.

I expect the scripting for Infinity War and Black Panther will be a bit more serious...or maybe not.

I REALLY like how the trailers were altered to not give things away. The figures that came out didn't spoil anything either, those that have seen the movie know exactly what I am getting at. I didn't think I would at first but I TOTALLY want a Grandmaster figure and REALLY REALLY want a Heimdall figure. Korg would be cool as well.
Such a good movie!

EvilMonkeyPope 11-05-2017 04:01 PM

It was Hela good!
The worst part of Thor Ragnarok is now my Marvel Legends Hela has to be customized for screen accuracy, although the toy variation of her breastplate was worn during filming before CGI redesigns were overlaid. I’ve already painted her eyes (the wrong color). Now I’m considering repainting her head without the facepaint meant to evoke her comic book mask, though it does look spiffy. I probably should punch up her metallic greens too. I’m still disappointed in Hasbro’s movie character selection. It made Heimdall’s sword in the Thor & Valkyrie two-pack but no Heimdall (preferably in his snazzy armor of earlier installments)? The Sakaarian guards have such nifty Kirby-esque costumes that I wouldn’t mind getting toys of some. Wither comic & movie varieties of Skurge? A Miek & Korg (he’d be a great base for Rockslide customs) two-pack would aces.

Too much humor in Thor 3, idiots behind me were laughing non stop at almost every scene, whether it was truly funny or not. I guess there are just some goombas that find anything humorous. Even DP only got a laugh or two outta me. It was a very action packed movie and IMO, the best of the trilogy. But every MCU movie does not have to mimic GOTG. This was the closest we'll ever get to a planet Hulk movie.
