So there's only been three confirmed to be skrulls right? (Cap, Bobbi, and Invisible Woman) anyone i'm missing?

Crazy Jetty 05-14-2012 07:51 AM

Yesterday's was the first episode of this season that's felt the same as Season 1. This season has been a bit boring to me until now.

Yeah, the season opened with a strong episode about Dr. Doom. Then a few weaker episodes (I really didn't like the Korvac/GOTG episode. Snoozefest), but it seems to be getting back on track. I just wonder if this Secret Invasion story is going to be wrapped up. They still have to have The Vision/return of Ultron to do. Plus, I saw Spider-man and Wolverine in some clips.

The Spiderman/Wolverine I believe is for Ultimate Spiderman. If we saw the same commercial, it was for both shows, and they were mixing scenes for both franchises.

Yeah, if you have no idea who either characters were and are unfamiliar with the stories, I can definitely see people not caring and being bored with the story and wanting a return to the more familiar characters and villains.

Because of my exposure to DnA's GotG stories, this was my favorite episode so far. Plus, as I understand DnA (Abnet and Lanning) also wrote the story for that episode, which was very fitting.

Good news is, this season is going to include a multitude of different characters which means there's something for everyone and should please a lot of long time fans. I think its good to be exposed to characters you otherwise wouldn't have picked up a book for to see if maybe there was something that might have been missed out on. Sometimes its a hit, sometimes its a miss.

I liked yesterdays episode. Too bad they never introduced spider woman. I also noticed that fury got a haircut since the first season. I guess the bald version is the one moving forward. The first season had the black/grey hair but now its ultimate version. I liked the scene where tony confronts everyone. I had the same feeling when I was reading secret invasion, basically you can't trust anyone. Wasp is really annoying though. I want her to die already.

He also got a color swap, because I believe he started out white, and based on the 616 Fury.
Guess Marvel has decided once Fury went black, he'll never go back.

I appreciated The Griffin showing up. He's not a popular or even amongst my own personal favorite characters, but he's from my hometown of Tacoma and that's cool.

I like the fact that they use obscure villains. Like Red Ghost and the Super Apes? C'mon, that's awesome!

Kaewin 05-14-2012 09:13 PM

I am enjoying this a lot I do wonder if Secret Invasion will last the season of will they give us the Kree/Skrull they talked about last season. Also they show the clip of Hawkeye talking to Cap saying , "So you were the skrull!" That hints it might not be the big thing but the War will be. they started the tease and that should be the season closer.

I am looking forward to the Vision showing up as he is my fav. I hope they do him justice and they somehow talked to either Roy Thomas or Steve Englhart about ways to portray him best. Those two are my favorite Avengers writers. I am curious what he sounds like. All those years looking at the yellow box amused me and I tried to fit the best voice in. (at one point I though of using ole Uncle Ronny, guess that makes me old).

The other thing I do look forward too is Yellowjacket. Always my favorite Pym, though as Goliath he was great. I know he was unstable often during those times but I liked the costume and when he would use his size changing powers, he often didn't. He was more of a tough as nails kick but kind of guy that this Hank could use some of.

And the last but not least want point. I would love to see Tigra, Spider Woman, She Hulk, Captain Marvel/Photon/Monica Rambeau or Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

Just a couple thoughts.

You guys seen this?

Petition: Marvel Entertainment, Disney, Joe Quesada, and Jeph Loeb: Do not cancel the Marvel "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" cartoon. | Change.org

Not sure if it will work but it might be worth a shot.

ditto. whatever helps keep this awesome show on air.

jjk1120 05-15-2012 07:33 AM

Signed it

KingLouie731 05-15-2012 08:55 AM

I signed it as well

Greenskar 05-15-2012 09:29 AM

Signed.

I also added that one of the reasons Marvel characters are so successful today is because the characters have typically been described as being able to relate to. If the Marvel team responsible for the Craptacular Spider Man (AKA Ultimate Spider Man) series believes today's kids, or anyone for that matter, can relate to any of the characters created for that show, then they have a very low opinion of today's audience and that's truly insulting.

The Avengers: EMH is an example of how to do a cartoon series correctly.

Exodus 05-15-2012 10:32 AM

Signed and forwarding it on to my friends to sign as well.

bmorr 05-15-2012 11:52 AM

Ultimate Spider-Man is like those Saturday morning cartoon parody's of Mass Effect or Skyrim that are floating around out there. It's funny for two minutes but it's a parody of the real thing and not meant to be taken seriously.

Pirate Bay will be back up shortly and they had a few on there.

Crazy Jetty 05-15-2012 05:39 PM

Since when has Avengers become under threat of cancellation?

Iceman 05-15-2012 06:24 PM

In truth? Probably since the Disney deal long before it aired.

Since Loeb announced that he wanted to get rid of it in favor of something closer to Ultimate Spiderman with only stand alone episodes and no more story arcs spanning multiple episodes.

bmorr 05-15-2012 06:57 PM

90s xmen and spiderman had huge episode arcs and those ran for around 8 years. In short, Loeb sucks.

But.... but.... the logic of that... makes my head hurt. EMH can do that.
It's completely capable of stand alone episodes, no cancellation and replacement nessisary!
In fact, adding stand alones to story arc heavy series is a great way to help open a series up even further.
In fact, it already DOES THIS.

And since when did Jeff Loeb suddenly think he's Bruce Timm, anyway?
