Yes and no. Some are outrageously HIGH. And some are just a little bit over retail like a local comic book shop which to me is decent.

If you're able to find figures at retail that is the route to go. I'm glad i did go. It's some type of organized chaos. If you're into collectibles it's a fun place to go for a day trip if you're not from around there. Me and my bro went there just to see the hullabaloo was and i'm glad we went.

Ah, I see. The place doesn't sound like my kinda alley. I hate paying over retail for stuff and can usually find what I want at retail anyways. I go down to Tijuana for my rare gem hunts. Never know what you're gonna find, you can haggle abit and they go down in price if you buy many items from them. Four months ago my cuz and I bought two McSpideys and some DCD figures for basically alittle less than retail.

You beat me to that lol. eBay has been doing this since last year. Final Value Fees are now based on the TOTAL price PLUS shipping cost. Before, there was no fee for shipping charges, so sellers were able to avoid paying fees by putting a huge fee for shipping an a 1 cent buy it now. eBay caught on after a very long time and decided to just screw sellers over completely. I don't think there should be fees on shipping if sellers use the ebay calculations for it - only when sellers input the dollar amount.

Also, I'm fairly sure most sellers know about this already. If they don't, they're just plain stupid. The sellers that do know about it and still do it are actually being pretty slick. While eBay will still organize listings based on lowest price + shipping, some impulse buyers simply click Buy it Now right away when they see a low price. Only afterwards do they realize the stupid mistake they made when they see the cost of shipping. You can actually call eBay and complain about it, at which point they may make the seller drop the cost of shipping to a reasonable amount. A stupid friend of mine made this mistake once and I told him to call eBay and complain. I can't remember what it was that he bought, but shipping was $27.95 for an item that would only cost $6 in a Flat Rate Box. When he called eBay, the seller was forced to drop the shipping cost to a reasonable price. That seller learned his lesson and I doubt he ever did it again.

Today the local Meijers had the new single pack MU Beast, Beta Ray Bill and Hulk.
There was a few of each actually. If anyone needs one let me know and I can get them!

Also would have had a picture but left the camera in the car. :p

Yo, D Day, quit talkin shit about my auctions!

I joke. I would never list anything so inflated in price that no one would bid on it. If they sell it for that much though, more power to them?

I guess? It's still a scumbag move.

Snailbot 08-12-2012 11:14 PM

Perhaps. I'm putting that in my watch list to see if they sell it. Theres no way!

Well, I know why sellers do this ^^^.

Here is the breakdown

if you have item A on ebay for

10$ + 3$ shipping, for total of 13$ you have to pay ebay 9%, or .90

Whereas

if you have item B on ebay for

3$ + 10$ shipping, for total of 13$ you have to pay ebay 9% or .27

A little tweaking of the shipping goes a long way if you are an ebay income only person...its a nice way to stay away from ebay fees, because they cant charge ebay fees on what you charge to people to ship...

Thats why you will see the same seller has the same item, just reversed amounts for the actual price of the item, and what they charge for shipping...either way the seller sells the item for the same amount, its just the difference in what ebay takes from the item...

Hope all this made sense

Thanks for the Heads ups Bro,appreciate it.

Thats good shipping costs you are running 1andonly,i just get a little light headed when i see quotes of $25+ for items that cost significantly less, proteus can attest to that.

Though to be fair if we're complaining about shipping BBTS are right up there as masters of daylight robbery, right alongside the GIJoe CC!!! It makes no odds to me because i just dont entertain even doing business with someone who has that kind of pricing, its their loss at the end of the day!!!

Yup,i feel your frustration mate,i remember a legit seller on amazon who had similar shipping fees.which was a shame because i would have bought lots of items from him if the shipping was reasonable.

I don't think Joe was working on Hulk in the 90's but maybe I'm wrong. I know one of the sons did work on Hulk in the 90's though. On a positive note though just think of the legacy he leaves behind: not just a couple of talented sons but all of the folks who went through his school and his body of work alone stands up well with the likes of Kirby & Simon. Also his Hawkman is one of my favorite renderings of one of my favorite heroes

Go Marvel ;)

Yes, the prices are BULLSHIT!! The only reason I ever go to Frank & Sons is to get a laugh on how much they price figures at. But I really don't like going because I get pissed knowing that all the figures I've been looking for are magically all there!!

Optimus Vader 08-13-2012 07:37 AM

Does anyone want just the Cap figure from the new TRU Cap vs. Magneto Comic Pack? It's the same figure as the TRU light up base version (two grip hands), but in a lighter blue suit. His shield has elastic straps and the piece to snap on his wrist.

$10 shipped if anyone wants him.
