I'm with you. Not be an old man yelling at clouds, but I feel like the older original sets lead to more imaginative play. When I get a licensed set I feel like I "have" to build that thing and only that thing ever. Because that's what it is. I feel weird changing or using the pieces for something else. A Batmobile is a Batmobile, you know?
Of course with the older sets, I would build the original thing by the instructions, but later I wouldn't feel bad about taking it apart and then using the parts for something else or modifying it. |

The one that I really missed was Gloria Baker with Stiletto. I actually saw it in Hong Kong when I went there 20 years ago. However, we were already carrying a lot of luggage back to the U.S., and I figured I'd find it in the U.S. eventually. The complete Gloria Baker with Stiletto now sells for $300 easy MIB. That was a big regret. |
I had the Stiletto with one fig briefly and sold it to someone who had the hologram. Fwiw, like the rest of Split Seconds, the conventional mode is very solid but the attack modes were pretty lazy. It was cool to finally have Gloria though.
Manta, Raven, and Firefly are my faves. Bulldog and Volcano also are pretty cool. Used to fix these up and sell them on ebay for a while. Was good times. Hope you enjoy! |

Just so I don’t get jumped, I always pickup extra batmobiles for Halloween. My son has a peanut and egg allergy so we have lots of trick-or-treaters whom also have food allergies. They get a hot wheels car…..and what’s cooler than a batmobile. There were another dozen left in the bin as well. |

Comic Book Store Haul:
Scored all of the figures for $10 a piece and the Chateau for $30. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...64fed407_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...5f95aac6_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...2c2979b8_c.jpg |
^ Whoa. I think you are the first person I have ever seen buy those old Matrix figures... those things just hang around forever and ever and no one buys them.
|
Don't worry, the actual figures are going straight into the bin. The weapons and diorama pieces on the other hand are going to the shelves.

Amazon delivered my MK11 Kabal today. Once again I'm generally quite pleased with what McFarlane has provided given the $20 price tag. The sculpt is great, the colors are solid, and the articulation allows for a good range of poses. His hook swords are a soft gummier plastic but they're so light-weight that I don't imagine they'll be warped by gravity, in contrast Shao Khan's hammer shaft is gummy while the head is solid so in certain poses over time it'll start to droop. Kabal is one of my favorite lesser-known MK characters so it's great to have a figure of him (even if it isn't necessarily my costume of choice). I'd really like to see them do a Kano to pair with him, and a Jade to go with Kitana while I'm at it. |

I can't believe I found the Turtles in Disguise set in person. 3 more left on the shelf too. They were all in a 49.99 spot and target honored it.
Finally found Kingdom core class Soundwave. Didn't know it had a mini Lazerbeak cassette in his chest. The My Hero Academia figure is just for a custom and the Rhino Alien I've seen before but always said no to collecting anything but the most recent Ultimate 1979 Xenomorph. But I told myself if I ever came across it again, screw it, I'll get it. Lo and behold lol |
