I had his head turned to the side, so could that have caused it? Anybody else have that randomly happen?

It's not random. The bolded part is exactly why it broke. The head piece design is made to be facing front. When you turn it, the lower "lip" of the head will push up on the neck ball as it goes up and over the lats area. Leaving it turned just put constant stress on the plastic until it snapped.

It's round normally, but when you activate it, it opens up like a Neoshifter to become a giant robot.

Il Cattivo 11-06-2018 06:52 AM

don't tell anyone but its actually a giant reptile....

^ nice customs guys!

Also the damn 6” dolls are winning:

“While Star Wars as a line has dependably released 3-3/4 inch figures since 1978, and added the 6-inch scale Black Series in 2013 (ironically because Marvel and others had proved it a more popular scale with collectors), Marvel chased trends for years. While they took over Toy Biz’s successful 6-inch scaled Marvel Legends line in 2007, and steadily released comic-based figures under that umbrella, they didn’t always relate to the movies. A 6-inch scale Iron Man movie line in 2008 made a Tony Stark that looked more like Eddie Izzard than Robert Downey, Jr., but shortly thereafter the 6-inch line took a four-year hiatus, as the market trended back to 3-3/4 inch when oil and plastic costs went up, and toy companies wanted to try to keep individual figures at $14.99 or under.”

It won't last long, unless they manage to stop the trade war with China. That will drive up import costs. Industries will have 2 options: convince the governments to back down, or move to another cheap labor/underdeveloped country. Weightwise, a 4" MU figure on a blister with no accessories is cheaper per unit to import than a 6" Legends figure with multiple head and hand parts and a BaF piece in a box.

Personally, I think Dwight has put himself in between a rock and a hard place.

Anybody know what ringside seats are selling for?

CCC.

You keep saying things like this as though it's a recent development and not the general way Hasbro's merch has been trending for years, lol.

I wouldn't expect Legends to go away anytime soon. While there definitely is a mainstream/impulse buy appeal, Legends is largely a collector focused line to begin with, and they already have cheaper alternatives for the more kid-friendly stuff. 6" seems to be much more popular on a collector-focused level given all the other lines we've seen move to that scale across various companies (Dragon Stars, DC Multiverse, MAFEX, S.H. Figuarts, Figma, ect.) And of course just a bit taller and you have other collector-oriented lines like Marvel Select, Mezco's One:12 stuff and the figures Storm Collectibles is doing for Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Tekken and Mortal Kombat.

Realistically what I could see though is slimming down the line and not putting out the insane amount of product it's currently doing.

Though that begs an interesting question. Why is it that there's so little collector-focused merchandise in the 3.75 inch scale? Particularly overseas?

some overseas countries can still get 3.75" have seen it in europe and in london.Marvel legends community and Marvel 3.75 community are polar opposites in their collection habits and rituals.one understands what needs to be done in order for the line to continue, the other does not!!!
