Many others were based off of the video game designs (such as Mysterio and Scorpion) while others still were based off of comic designs (Vulture, Rhino, Shocker.)

I dug that Mysterio at the time (even moreso because he was voiced by Bruce Campbell in the game, who even made some in-game Army Of Darkness references...) and I thought that it was an interesting and varied line at the time, even if they weren't up to high standard that was set by ToyBiz's legends that Hasbro had just acquired the license from only months earlier.

Those figures marked the beginning of the end for Legends at that time, as the Legends line become more and more difficult to find thanks to Hasbro's bad exclusive marketing, and as the figures themselves kept getting smaller and smaller until finally giving birth to the Marvel Universe line.

James Arnold Taylor actually voiced Mysterio in-game, Bruce Campbell was the narrator ;)

Oops...my mistake. Bruce Campbell actually played Mysterio in the Ultimate Spider-Man comic.

Spider-Man shows up at the set of an unauthorized "biopic" being filmed about him, only to find Sam Raime counting cash and Bruce on the set as Mysterio. Sam's brother (whose name escapes me) says that they would be more than happy to pay for the rights, but they need to know who is under the mask first. After all...anyone can cash a check saying they are "Spider-Man".

A little bit of hilarity ensues, and Pete responds by saying they suck, or something along those lines before swinging away.

I miss the Ultimate books. Funny stuff.

I have fond memories of that Scorpion.

And yet now 6" is back and smaller figures are all but disappeared from Marvel lines. The times they are a changin'.

Brilliant! Off to bed now with a smile on my face.
Great dio. Inspiring, in fact! My legends need to interact more - they've been posed in line-ups for a long time.
Something to plan instead of counting sheep.

Thanks for sharing!

The gauntlets and boots might "pop," but they are also inaccurate to the comics.

Except the cape has a giant peg going through it and as Jay C showed, it falls off way too easily due to the snap on the front. Those alone instantly make it inferior.

TB def hits the notes better than Hasbro on this one. Hasbro will have the leg up with modern articulation and better bubble head.

Ender7 01-24-2018 11:12 PM

@parademon1 - is that a cody rhodes head? lol

Parademon1 01-24-2018 11:20 PM

The one on Whirlwind? I have no idea. I just snagged it out of my fodder box & slapped it on Whirlwind.

VashTS 01-25-2018 06:24 AM

The Masters of Evil looks primed for Robot Chicken skit...especially that Scorpion Cottonmouth conversation.

Love the Leaper playing PacMan.

Reminds me of that BatmanTAS where the villains got together telling tales how they almost got the Batman amd hilarity ensued.

Thats hilarious...though leaper should be playing Frogger. ;)
Cottonmouth looks like hes telling shocker a " the fish was this big " story.

Scored a ML Retro Iron-man figure for $5.00 at the walmart clearance isle..there was also a Pizza Spidey, that I passed on (already have it)

Didnt pick those up.

Found the list of TRU store closings on USA today's site. It seems to be official but I guess not with 100% accuracy. Somehow, someway, my closest TRU has dodged the bullet and is not on the list of closures. For whatever that's worth. I'm actually shocked.

Best of luck to the rest of you as well. I purposefully did not post the link because I'm not sure it's allowed, but google is your friend.

Shockingly the one i complained about a week ago, they also were not on that list. However we have one in my county that was shutting down. I weren't there once and that was another craphole.

hasbroherofan 01-25-2018 10:07 AM

Oh man. I hope the Sentinel set is not too hard to find.

Augustus_Cole 01-25-2018 10:10 AM

did anyone ever find a good kitbash/mod of the Tombstone figure that came out last year.?? Something that worked with him in a suit and not his 70's disco outfit...??
<<whispering **i JUST found out that he was black..shhhhhhhh...**>>

Boy Blunder 01-25-2018 10:11 AM

Do we know when these stores are closing? I'd like to pop in when it's closer to the last day, to see if I can score any deals. I know their remaining stock will likely be redistributed to the other three (or four, I forget) stores in the county, but still.
