Edit: Movie Venom too. |
I'd say Anne/She-Venom is a lock. Maybe Sin-Eater? They were in the same story.
|
She-Venom? Wow. Marvel is really reaching now. An all Venom related. wave of numorous Symbiotic Venom rejects? $$$ saver for me!
|
I'm not much of a Legends fan but depending on who's in the Venom wave it may be the first time I go out of my way to get the whole set.
Different strokes and all that. |

Ann was so haunted by the episode, that she later ended up committing suicide because of the PTSD it caused her. Since the Venom wave is all but confirmed now, I figured I'd repost my wish list for it that I posted a week or so ago... Angelo Fortunato Venom / Lee Price Venom Scorpion / Mac Gargan Venom Scream / Agony (Life Foundation Symbiotes) Sin Eater / Toxin (Patrick Mulligan) BAF: Ultimate Venom w/ Eddie Brock (make him like the old Pitt BAF, and include him with a smaller teen body Eddie to go along with the larger BAF.) Let's not forget an... Ann Weying / Eddie Brock two pack (untransformed Eddie Brock wearing Venom "leather jacket" from issue #375 with partially transformed head swap, while Ann in her She-Venom get up with a normal and partially transformed head swap.) One of the things that make a hero special when he first appears is, he;s the only one with those powers. He;s special. Eventually we get the muddying of a hero. We get his doppelganger, his enemy equivalent, and maybe a cyborg version and so on. But when you water down heroes like Marvel has with Spidey, you destroy the uniqueness of that hero. Venom was great in the 90's, but he;s been absolutely abused by Marvel and is becoming a muddy mess. So many versions created for the wrong reasons. Marvel is a wreck right now and the backlash has shown the past year or so. With that said, looking forward to the Venom wave....getting a dedicated Venom buck would be nice....with Eddie Brock head? |
I would totally buy a blue with black accents Marvel vs Capcom Venom.

Finally able to add the Black Panther figures to my display and do some rearranging. I'm only posting my Phase 3 figures, but I must say Hasbro is simply killing it. Two weeks until Toy Fair and I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing the MCU figures rumored for 2018...Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Groot, Rocket, Thor, Black Widow, Ant-Man, and The Wasp.

I'm glad Ant-Man & The Wasp are being included in the Infinity War wave. I was hoping for a Ghost, but you never know. |

That would require them finally making a first appearance Storm, which Hasbro seems contractually prevented from at this point. And by contractually I mean with Satan.

Venom was a great character until the character himself devolved to become a meger plot tool, as the symbiote was turned into essentially Marvel's version of a WWE title. The formula basically became: got a character that needs a temporary push in an efforts to boost a comic's sales or reinvigorate them? Throw a symbiote in it for a run and see what happens. Reader: Shouldn't the character be built up first? Marvel: Naw...just give him a symbiote...they're cool, and command respect. People will warm up to them and accept it eventually. See also: Jinder Mahal, Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Bayley Venom has gone the way he has gone over the years due to an over-saturation of symbiotes, and the fact that they got away from what made the character what he was...Spider-Man's anti-thesis, great power with little responsibility. Outside of Norman Osborne (who has his own symbiote now btw...SMH) Venom was Spidey's most dangerous foe. He wasn't interested in amassing wealth or power. He didn't bother with robbing banks or trying to open portals to other worlds. Venom's sole interest was killing Spider-Man, and anyone else who stood in the way of that goal. Sure, a lot of guys also wanted to kill Spidey, but Venom was different. Since he knew who Spidey was, he could be anywhere. He could be that quiet guy behind you at the coffee shop, the creep who's flirting with your girlfriend at her job, or the cop knocking on your aunt's door while you have breakfast with her. He was cunning and single minded in approach, and while he dealt in absolutes, he also had his own sense of morality that he played by. In the end though, morality or not, Brock's Venom was nothing more than a psychopath with an axe to grind and a sense of entitlement, no different than your average serial killer or active shooter. Like serial killers in real life, that's what made him so fascinating. In a way, Venom was a metaphor for our worst fears, a fear of sudden death by someone we never expected, and that we never saw coming until it was too late. A fear that resonates in society today with the with the increasing rate and randomness of the mass killings and terrorist acts that we now see on the news on an almost nightly basis. When they got away from that, was when they tried to turn him into a hero. Then a paramilitary black ops commando. Then a honorable space knight. And so on...and so on...and so on... |

I'd really love a classic defenders set with Hulk, Valkyrie, Hellstrom, Nighthawk and Beast on Jackel body.

I compare Venom to wrestlers. Heels in wrestling are more fun because you get to see the natural personality of people on display. Heels are more fun and allowed to be more outside the box. Venom as a villain is where he belongs.
|
Just googled the Angelo Fortunato Venom .......that's a great look.
I wish Hasbro utilyzed different artistic renditions of characters again. That same overused Spidey mask is boring and gives no reason to get the constant repaints. |
