I am new to collecting Marvel Legends and decided to join here to discuss them with everyone.

I primarily focus on MCU figures but will buy any character that I think looks cool.

I should say....I don't read comics. I wouldn't mind starting but I've never read one before so I hope that's not blasphemous(I feel like it's on the level of liking the SW Prequels....Which I love).

So why do I collect ML's? Because they look cool. I like symbiotic, I like Deadpool (Though that X men Deadpool is stupid). If it looks cool I like it. Is that superficial? Yes. But we all start somewhere, right?

And my name implies my other loves :). Hope to enjoy talking with everyone here!

Welcome to the Ark! Like and collect what feels right and what you like! Love of comics is always a great thing here, given its source material a lot of times, but by no means a necessary thing. If MCU is what you like, that's awesome. Look forward to more posts from you!

Much rather have gotten a classic Uncle Ben/Aunt May/Car jacker boxset than a Gwenpool/X-men DP/ fig any day. And that Venom/Spidey/MJ pic setup is cool! Only Venom fig I'll ever need.

Spyne98 01-31-2018 09:19 AM

Question for everyone. Does anyone use the Marvel Unlimited digital service? I know this isn't about toys, but I just wanted to throw it out there. I have some questions about it that I would love to find answers for. I don't want to jam up the thread so if you could send me a PM, I would love to pick your brain about it.

I would add: It might not be impossible that we get an Ant-Man/Wasp exclusive AND another ML Exclusive.

But I think the "Big" Set for this year is going to be one of two things:

1. The Black Order + Thanos, comic-book style.

or

2. Classic New Mutants (a stealth tie-in to the movie, which has been delayed but that wouldn't necessarily stop the set from coming).

These haven't been posted online to order have they?

HA ha ha ha...nope. Unless it's one of these youtube reviewer types desperate for some clicks, good luck with that.

The listing got removed...I wonder if the person is really from cali though, ebay listings can have the "From" in a different location then where it really truly is...

Awesome thanks guys, the hascon one does look a lot better too paint wise just by looking at the pics of both. Granted I paid scalper price for it but eh was worth it for me...Good thing it's only once a while that I do.

Welcome "Darth Kamen"!! Youve jumped in at a good time, I guess.
Lots of MCU figures to choose from and if you're behind-the-curve on collecting them, there are a few ML lots avail on ebay.
If not, begin joining some ML FB groups as well. They'll have deals there as well.
No worries. We don't judge (too harshly, lol) here. It is the Marvel Legends Appreciation thread, NOT the
"Marvel Comics-figure-accurate-ONLY-snob Appreciation thread".

Agreed. I love seeing these awesome customs in production - but I really wish the pics were downsized. It's not like any of us are reading this forum at a high enough resolution to view them at that size - and it has been mentioned by a number of people before.

When I post pics, I tend to fullscreen my photos on my PC, then screengrab them (snipping tool or similar) and save a new JPG to post. I find that helps keep them to a sensible size without having to think about a specific number of pixels or % reduction.

On a more positive note, I've just POd the Sasquatch wave. I could happily live without either DP but am excited for the rest of the wave. Cable, X-23, Sasquatch and Deathlok will all get swapped in for my existing display pieces (generally only one of each character out at once). Paladin will actually be the only new character on the shelves as a result of the wave, which is a little sad - but I think the others are significant enough upgrades that the wave felt worth it. 90s DP may well step in place of the NOW version.

Now to sell some more things on eBay. I've still got to get hold of the BP wave - and would like to have some £ ready in case the Lizard BAF wave becomes easily available in the UK (decent e-tailers have already sold out). Congrats on getting yours, @ariellagunas - and thanks for sharing your thoughts on them.

I'm so looking forward to seeing someone posing Sasquatch standing completely upright next to a Pizza Spidey or even Cable just to get a gauge on his actual scaled hgt. I feel that he will be closer to the 9 inch scale than 8' scale. He looks to me to be at least 1/2 to 1 inch taller than Manthing who people say he shares parts with.

Did you see these? Not perfect - or stood up straight - but enough to get an idea, I think...

EDIT: Huh... looks like the pic I linked to from another site was removed or blocked. I'll remember that for future. Anyway, I don't have an original pizza Spidey - but I'll gladly post a pic of 'squatch stood upright next to a few other figs once I've got him in hand.

Off-topic, is that a Dee Jay figure in your avatar?

DarthKamen 01-31-2018 02:06 PM

Thank yo everyone for the warm welcome. It's good to see so many nice people....forums need more of that.

I originally was going to get Venom, Black Suit Spider Man and BIB Deadpool(huh....all comic characters) but the Civil War 3 pack for $17 got me hooked.

I'm really excited for 90s Deadpool, I own and love the NOW one but I enjoy the more slender build of this one. Also excited for a better Ant-Man figure and really hope we get a Ghost in a 2 pack.

It is. Sadly, it's the mock up Dee Jay that SOTA Toys never was able to get into production before they cancelled their Street Fighter line. Still makes me sad every time I see it. It's the only character I'm missing out of the original 16 world warriors.

For those of you doubting the legitimacy of the Deadpool Wave Ebay auction, there are videos of a group of kids on youtube showing them off and bragging how they "don't care about street dates" like they are some kind of toy gangsters or something. Pretty silly stuff. I'm thinking it's probably the same guys scalping them...so I'm pretty sure the auction was legit.

It is. One of the few shots of the unreleased prototype. Pretty much my grail figure, as I managed to find almost all of the SOTA SF line. Using it as my avatar means I get to see him often.

I'm so sorry it makes you sad! I wish I knew where the prototype ended up - I'd probably have a restraining order from the owner by now.

Was able to capitalize on the Walgreens sale and get Medusa, Human Torch, Black Bolt and classic Namor for $13 each. If anyone needs the Okoye BAF pieces I'm selling/trading them.
