Someone lemme know when Hasbro decides to do the one & only classic comic version of the mad titan in a BAF wave. Select version is outta scale with ML, Thanos isn't Hulk sized. Some of you could care less about proper scale but I do.
https://i.imgur.com/1Z8lOCL.jpg
Thanos vs Champion who is 10ft tall. Thanos is 6'7. Notice that the great Ron Lim drew them in their correct scales & did not draw Thanos as the Hulk sized monstrosity that many of todays artists like to draw these days. Thanos has never towered or been the same hgt as the Hulk.
https://i.imgur.com/DUe5fgn.jpg
Thanos vs Hulk by John Byrne, another great artists that always strived to draw characters in their proper scale.
https://i.imgur.com/XOEKY2P.jpg
Thanos vs Cap. No Hulk sized Thanos there.

I don't really care for the MCU figs that much but they are usually fantastic looking. Thanos and CA look very weird.

That's kind of mean.....

As for Thanos.....I like the body but his head really needs a helmet. He looks odd without it.

And I still think Cap looks great.

Solid wave..besides 1 figure that I think is a waste and could have been a better choice.

Lasher shoulda been on the same body as prowler at least.

Back to figs...

I'll just post this here...

Excited for this Venom wave...even if Spider Ham and Typhoid Mary have little to do with Venom. I'm not even sure if he has even appeared in a book with them. Typhoid scratches a HUGE itch for me.

As for "Poison"...I'm thinking it's actually Patrick Mulligan Toxin.

Scream is coming...outstanding. Two down...three to go.

Poison is a character from an old What If story where the symbiote bonded with Peter's body while he was in the process of being "reborn" after Morlun killed him.

Is everyone else getting tired of the spider verse thing? I mean infinite spideys? I got burned out after miles morales! I hope spider man does his own version of armor wars and goes around offing everyone with spider themed powers! I mean seriously there are more spider people than mutants in the MU now! I’m waiting for Pete to open the “Parker institute for spider learning”. Someone needs to start irradiating other freakin animals!

That....is awful. Cool design I suppose...but awful premise.

Still hoping it a code word of some sort. Hasbro's used them before, though I'm fearing you could be right, since Spider-Ham was also a "What If" character.

Venom Punisher would have been a cooler character though. Especially if they would have given him sculpted forearm guns and the glider wings.

Its is gettin a bit ricokulous. I dont mind peter, jess drew, ben reilly or even silk but everyone is else needs to go away, to their own universes or just be depowered and forgotten. Symbiotes leave brock, thompson and cassidy.

DarthKamen 02-03-2018 02:15 PM

Aww, no Agent Anti-Venom.

So Carnage is the only one in that wave I want.

The majority of those characters exist in other universes so it really isn't that big a deal.

.

Unless it's a movie figure, I doubt it. They usually use codenames to hide potential film spoilers.

Parademon1 02-03-2018 02:22 PM

These are the listed hgts of some of the major villians in the marvel comics universe. All have been the listed hgts of these characters since the 60s except for Juggernaut who went from being 6'10 to 9'3 which IMO is BS & no reason for him to have gained another 3 ft in hgt asides from artistic lcense. Thanos is 6'7, what I have always seen him listed as going back to the 80s collection of the "Official handbook of the Marvel universe" books. Terrax is another figure that Hasbro messed up the scale on with the BAF. He is 6'6 not 7'6. Big reason I never bothered getting it.

More than 1 fig was a waste in this wave imo. That Hulk sized T-rex looking Lizard is a no buy for me along with the punk rock reject, Gwenpool, & plain looking Spiderwoman. Mysterio/prowler are the only ones for me. Might get Spider Noir to pop my Blade head on for a trenchcoat version.

MeLikeJinx 02-03-2018 02:44 PM

My ROSS finally clearanced out the Wolf Cap wave Legends figs they had since Christmas... so I now have an almost complete Onslaught with Magneto head. Such an awesome looking BAF... still missing the cape piece though... ROSS didn't have any Wolf Caps left.

I just checked my Target and they changed it... every Legends fig has its own DCPI now. So I'm guessing that rumored Psylocke wave DCPI list is legit.

Interesting. I wonder if that is a new anti-theft or anti-scalper measure?

Or just Hasbro finally trying to figure out how to prevent so many peg warming Misty Knights and White Tigers? It would definitely make it easier to ship back unwanted stock without returning everything.

Captain Nash 02-03-2018 03:24 PM

That thanos is not for me, so I'm glad I'm not all that interested in the wave. But for those that do have an interest in MCU figures, I'm glad you're finally getting him! ....Why can't we all just accept that not everyone likes different things, and that what someone else does or doesn't like doesn't really affect anyone but them? No I'm not a huge MCU collector but I'm not down on anyone who is. Anyone who's down on me because I like comic figures more than MCU figures..well that sounds like it's more your problem than mine if you have a problem with what I like. Just like what you like and collect it. it's not that hard. It'd be a damn boring world if we all liked exactly the same thing.

Anyways...Great reveal on the Venom wave. Honestly thought i might not get anything but maybe Scream if she showed up. Which it looks like she will...but yes yes yes to Typhoid Mary. Always up for getting more female villains. Spider-Ham might be a buy simply because of the funny factor, but I'm hoping he'll be packed in with someone.

I know you're joking, but I wish you weren't. A whole wave of Pyslocke in her various outfits sounds like a little slice of heaven to me.

Nice, thanks for posting this!

Regarding character selection for most of the recent waves, it kinda seems like Hasbro has been playing the Marvel Edition of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon...:p

Really looking forward to Typhoid Mary. It'll probably be based off of the more recent design used in the fan-poll, which could be easily re-purposed from the upcoming Punk Storm figure.

Never been a big fan of the symbiotes, but Scream has piqued my interest. Interested to see how Hasbro manages her hair/tendrils. The character is usually depicted with a wild, crazy mane that could really cool in figure form.

Spider ham and venomhog? Thatd be epic.

The scale chart is great and all, but it's only really there for a reference point and not as a set in stone rule.

At the end of the day, comic books are art, which means by their very nature they are open to artist interpretation and there's nothing wrong with that. After all, part of what makes comic books exciting is artists' willingness to bend the rules to make the comic books feel larger than life. Todd McFarlane had to damn near throw human anatomy out the window in order to get some of those more dynamic Spider-Man poses that everybody loves. And yes, this includes making some characters bigger and bulkier to make them more threatening, despite their "official" height.

There's nothing wrong with that. If someone has always seen Thanos to be almost as big as the Hulk (because yes, sometimes he's drawn that way) and wants that kind of scaling for their collection, then so be it. That doesn't make them wrong.

Yah, I meant the new X-men wave... someone posted the rumored DCPI list for that wave a while back (currently page 1478), but it had individual DCPIs for the first time instead of just one for the whole wave... I just call it the Psylocke wave though since I only care about Psylocke... or mostly only care about Psylocke from that wave.

Only took them 10 years. LOL. All I know is before both X-men waves shared the same DCPI... maybe they got tired of people buying the new X-men wave and returning a bunch of Havoks and Phoenixs in its place.
