Todd has been getting dragged on Twitter for that over 2 minute clip of him being sexist. Ya female figures don't sell that's why it took me almost 3 months to finally get the Marvel Legends Scarlett Witch last year.

Todd's problem is that he associates articulation with kids toys- as a kid I didn't want the girl figures. Didn't want Leia, Scarlett, Baroness, etc... He hated having to add articulation and he just thinks of them as toys now and not adult Collectibles. Adult Collectors do want female figures- and 99% NOT in the serial killer way. Lol. I did have a friend of the family come over that was in law enticement who brought up the 'Serial Killers and Dolls' issue- but I think the relationship is more girl's dress up dolls than action figure related, not to mention probably pretty out of date based on the sort of collector friendly world we live in today.

One has to be so miserable in life that their forum posts are nothing but ranting and whining especially for something that they don't buy in the first place. So much frustration, tsk tsk. I think a better way to spend time for this is to write to todd directly. Thank god for the ignore list.

I'm still looking forward to mcfarlane's toys and sad to say that batman is the only thing that sells in dc's eyes whether you like it or not.

In my opinion, the idea that female figures don't sell is the fault of the industry itself.

They positioned female characters poorly in the show/comic.
Do kids want the tough damsel in distress or the guy holding the sword of power.

They don't make great figures of characters who are female. Hasbro is especially call out on. The only line with say an ab crunch is power rangers and even then they just gave female character real shoulders.

They are prone to making sculpts very sexualized when not appropriate. Part of that is a fault to the source material (Jean Grey).

Now tack on all the woes action figures in general have.


Mcfarlane can address it. No I don't see half the line being female characters but they can do more then avoiding a Wonder Woman Rebirth classic figure.

Of course then you got non white characters. Black headsculpts that's barely a fade.

I don't even think we're asking for too much. Todd isn't doing a lotta deep dives with this line, he could at least put out ONE Supergirl or Black Canary! It's not like we're asking for Dove or Plastique of lady Eclipso haha

Lady Eclipso has a nifty horror vibe though. You'd think she'd be a shoo-in under Todd's "make cool monsters" criterion like Cheetah & Bleez.

Green Lantern, Aquaman, Wonderwoman(we are how many figures deep without a Cheetah or Ares?), and Martian Manhunter need some rogues.

Maybe I'll throw Arkham Deathstroke in there to mix it up- he's evolved to kind of generic bad guy for anyone that needs someone to fight... Can't wait to see Todds take on Solomon Grundy-

even Bizarro had his redemption. lol. I generally have an era/idea of who a character is based on the books- i.e. Harley will ALWAYS be Joker's girl regardless of what other roles they push her into- so Deathstroke for me is always a bad guy even if DC keeps trying to make him a hero...

I dunno man. Punchline is pretty damn sadisticly awesome, plus she put the holyhell of beat downs on on quinn. I seriously want a figure of her.

While you could dremel it out a bit more foe a better fit...If you have the Ultimate Edition Rock figure, all you really need is some sticky tack and you're good to go!

I love Punchline- if we get a figure she's going to be right on Joker's other side. Harley will ALWAYS be Joker's. The problem is that she because so popular she became problematic for DC to have a loved character in the role of Joker's whipping post- which is what she is; the definition of a Toxic Relationship is Joker and Harley- so suddenly she has more character growth in a year than pretty much every other comic character in existence so that she can be liberated and her own woman- nah!

Less head-canon than stopped reading at a point and that's where my comic life ends- they'll keep going and changing forever. ...and Ivy and Harley as a couple doesn't do anything for me- that never seemed like anything more than an editor's (didio?) lipstick lesbian fan-fic LOL(But I do love the HarleyQuinn show and how the characters relationships are handled on that show- but it's not the comics- it's its own thing like the movies and the CW.)

The natural chemistry was actually just really good writing- that show was near perfect.
If Mcfarlane gives us a Poison Ivy or Harley (non-BTAS) they'll probably both find their way into my InJustice Leauge too. Right now though I'm just hoping for a Cheetah (probably be the Injustice version) or a Giganta... The Injustice League is looking awful XY heavy (even more so once I add Black Adam and Deathstroke)
