The tiers need to include Daimon Hellstrom and Blackheart. And, as so many have already mentioned, let us know in advance. Were adults, there is no need to be coy, we have a Haslab that needs funding. Adaptability is a trait companies look for in their employees; it works the same for the other side of the coin. The Lab hasn't failed, yet. Adapt by throwing out the playbook and bring this project to the finish line. The best way to shut up detractors is to resoundingly succeed.

As for Blade, Mahershala is going to revitalize the franchise and there will be recognition and fanfare aplenty. No need for him to be offered here as the character can support a general release.

HunterKnight 09-28-2022 04:47 PM

This is a limp dick effort by Hasbro. Sorry but this ain't the viagra the campaign needs:

LOL someone actually spent time making that? SMDH Lots of invitations will be mailed out for this year’s Player Haters Ball…

Prescription drug and petrol prices through the roof? Fuck that, lets burn these toymaking mofos’ at the stake!!!

johnpaul 09-28-2022 04:56 PM

Yeah, Robbie Reyes was a poor choice. Should've made an updated Johnny blaze, Danny ketch, and give us their motor cycles. Robby Reyes just isn't it, not unless you did the agents of shield version.

Harbinger 09-28-2022 07:21 PM

Too lil too late hasbro.

Will he? Blade is supposed to be a martial arts badass and this guy is pushing 50 years old and they haven't even started filming yet. In contrast, Wesley Snipes was in his mid-30s when he first played Blade.

So, unless Ali is in unbelievable shape for a 48 year-old, we're going to have a Blade that's not nearly as physically impressive as his predecessor unless they use stunt doubles/CGI aplenty.

Not ripping on Ali, he's a great actor and all, but I just think he's too old to start playing Blade, especially for what may potentially be multiple movies.

I mean, not really, with the full Robbie figure out this seems like the obvious back-up plan. It literally addresses what people were complaining about not even 24 hours ago, but with some fans I guess you just can't win.

It will be a lot of stunt doubles and since it's the MCU a ton of CGI. That's just how they do things.

But I think the larger problem however is that rumor that apparently Ali read the script for the film and then told Marvel Execs to get a rewrite because he thought it was hot garbage.

ShabbyBlue 09-28-2022 08:14 PM

Speaking of the new Blade movie...

I see your points, but I'd rather have an mma fighter with Ali's height and build do the heavy lifting and leave the acting and scene presence to the pros.

But your point about Ali pushing fifty is taken. He'll at least revive the franchise enough for me to get a couple new Legends, which is all that really matters.

Age means nothing when it comes to movie magic. Roger Moore was 45 when he took on the role of James Bond even though Bond is supposed to be in his early 30s. Audiences proclaim Tobey Maquire to be the best Spider-Man despite being 30 when he played the 17 year old Peter.

BTW, given that Blade is super strong from being a vampire, he can be whatever age theyw ant him to be. Personally, I'd like to see the Blade movie be set in the 70s.

MeLikeJinx 09-28-2022 09:27 PM

Hugh Jackman and Bautista are both over 50 and still playing Wolverine and Drax... Blade Guy should be fine. Of course Hugh Jackman has been playing Wolverine for 20+ years now and actually peaked as Wolverine in Days of Future Past IMO... not sure how old he was during that film. Screen presence is probably the most important thing when playing a superhero though.

Boogieman4hire 09-28-2022 10:19 PM

So it looks like numbers are going back up. Not by much so don't get excited. It's up about 20 from what it was this morning. It was like 5440 when I checked at like 11 AM. Hopefully there's a turn around on it.

He wasnt even 30 yet when spider-man 2 was released.

Condiment King 09-29-2022 03:42 AM

What better way to celebrate 40 years of Ghost Rider than by giving us a version of the character that’s been around for about 8 years. I’ll be honest, I haven’t read a marvel comic that has been released within the last 10+ years, so I cant comment on the character of Robbie Reyes or his significance, but I will say this, about 7 years ago DC Direct released a 24 inch animated series Batmobile, it could fit two 6 inch figures inside, and the outside lights and interior lit up. Just 3/4 years ago they released the animated BatCycle, front light and control panel lit up, and it came with a 6 inch animated Batman figure. The Batmobile cost me £80 and the Motorcycle was £55, I get inflation, but still.

This Haslab has received a lot of hate, and for the price I think it’s deserved, I’m torn between wanting it to fail as a big F YOU to Hasbro, but also aware a lot of people want this and are willing to pay the price, so it would be crappy for them to miss out.

Thatannoyingguy 09-29-2022 04:47 AM

Mezco Ghost Rider doesn’t seem so expensive now, does it? Lol. I dunno why Ghost Rider is generally so expensive. Maybe it’s because he’s the most powerful superhero? He did easily beat Galactus once.

VashTS 09-29-2022 05:52 AM

5 years ago, i purchased the 1/6 scale Hasbro Rut rider and bike for 50 dollars on the 2and market.

It's a beautifully done figure and bike. This Engine is garbage and low rent by Hasbro.

This is a pure cash grab. They are testing to see how low IQ we are and how much they can take from us.

My mistake, but the point remains he was still too old to be playing a 17 year old.

You do realize this is a car, not a bike, right?

It's not a cash grab, but I do think they could have reduce the amount of detailing on the interior of the car to cut down on the price as its excessive. The inside of the car is the least important aspect.

OldDevilDoc 09-29-2022 06:03 AM

Still would have liked the OG comic book motorcycle/Johnny Blaze Ghostrider instead.

Face capture and slap it onto a mocap double.

Overpriced and the wrong ghost rider.

Again, I have to stress that, despite my misgivings about his age (and I'm not that much younger than he is, lol), Ali is a a great actor and he obviously knows a crap script when he sees one. Glad he's in the position to demand Marvel/Disney not stick him in a bad movie, especially since it'll be HIS career on the line.

Yeah. Not a good sign when your director fucks the fuck off right two months before filming was set to begin. Sounds like Ali was onto something for sure.

Apples and oranges. Or was Roger Moore doing complex martial arts fights comparable to Wesley Snipes' stuff and I missed it?

Oh, wait, he wasn't. Moore's fight scenes were fine but VERY basic compared to the Blade movies:

Moore was awesome as Bond, BTW.

Anyway, the dude in Shang Chi appeared to be doing most of his fight scenes, but I'm just afraid that Blade will end up looking like this:

Or this (I fucking swear this is how this scene was actually edited in the movie, nothing's been changed):

And I'm not really concerned that much with Ali's first outing as the character, as there are still guys who can do some amazing shit in their late 40's. But with an average of about 3-4 years between movies, Blade 2 would have him in his mid-50's and I don't even want to talk about Blade 3.

People appear to be missing my point. Martial arts. Jumping spin kicks and roundhouse kicks, shit like that. Neither Jackman nor Bautista has even done that in any of their movies.

But Blade has been established as having that fighting style, so unless they're changing things up with a different approach to combat or and having lots of stunt doubles/CGI, I think audiences will be disappointed. Or maybe they won't care and it'll just a boon to have an actor of Ali's level in the role. We'll see.
