I found some Black Adam figures on clearance at Target for $3 last night, so I grabbed Atom Smasher and Dr Fate for Toys for Tots in Dec along with a couple of their Disney princess and Barbies that were also around $3. Sadly, no Marvel figures as everything they had (the Moonknight BAF D+ wave and the wave with Blue Marvel/Marie Hill) was still fully priced.

I have never watched Rahxephon but, really like the mecha design. How is it animation and story wise? I seem to primarily enjoy mecha anime. I'm a big fan of Gundam (especially 00).

I think RahXephon does Evangelion better than Evangelion. The main character isn't a whiny bitch who folds under pressure while masturbating and the characters are actually likable. Soundtrack is great, especially since the cerntral theme of the show is music.

As for the animation, it's one of the early shows that used digital animation, but I think it looks fantastic. I haven't seen how it looks in HD yet though, but the DVDs had looked fantastic when ADV first released it.

Fantastic. You sold me. Mainly by nailing everything about Eva I hate. Actually...Other than the mecha/creature and enviromental design I'm not sure there's much left I like.

The time in which Rahxephon was released had some absolutely stellar animation. Thanks. I'll order it.

Yeah, I was a fan of the early 2000s stuff. Noir, Boogiepop Phantom, My-Hime, RahXephon, Gankutsuou, Speed Grapher, X, Kaleidostar, and Code Geass were at the time when I feel anime studios were at their finest.

Don't get me wrong, every decade had their top dogs, but I feel that the animation quality in the last decade has taken a turn on the decline the moment they started including CGI or letting CGI take over. Demon Slayer is fantastic, but then you have something like the last few seasons o Attack on Titan where they decided to CGI the Titans and they look out of place.

Funny you mention it. I'm currently rewatching Code Geass with my wife. She IS NOT an anime fan but is really enjoying it.

I've been watching Vinland Saga. It's pretty good.

I need to give Demon Slayer another go. The one narcoleptic kid got on my nerves so badly I couldn't get through it after a while.

I've only read the Demon Slayer manga, but I enjoyed it a lot. It was nice to have a Jump series that had the main villain introduced at the start and had no last minute plot twist of having a boss.

The narco kid got interesting as time went on, but he was one of my least favorite characters.

Got Legacy Inferno today. I'm still a bit bummed that his only accessory is his ass-jet and that the only way to store said piece in ant mode is to just glaringly plug it on his back. That said I still really like the toy itself, he quite faithfully captures the look from the cartoon and fits great among his fellow Predacons and his Queen from the past couple of years. The transformation is pretty simple but still ultimately satisfying, although as expected the ant legs regularly require managing as you go through the steps. Articulation in ant mode is minimal but most of the legs being solid plastic is good for stability in the long run. Articulation in robot mode is of course far more dynamic and as was the case when they revealed this figure I love that his jaw hinges, it gives a lot of personality choices when posing.

I like that the Sword Sheath can be placed on the Crimson Guardsman's belt or his backpack. He can match Cobra Commander with the sheath.
