Waiting on parts for one of mine, too. Long wait for some accessory bits, but gotta have em. Once they arrive I'll post the previous batch (28 - chronologically speaking). For now, I'l be posting Batch29 shortly.

The Universe is expanding.... (pics to follow in next post)
This batch was completely unplanned to be made this soon. I started these while waiting on parts for the last batch and ended up finishing them while still waiting on the parts. This batch ended up being mostly replacement figures to get rid of more underwhelming Hasbro products. To their credit, Hasbro did make a lot of really nice sculpts and parts over the course of their various runs of small scale hero lines. The consistency was just never there for any extended period. These Iron Man comic armors are a perfect example. They look great as suits of armor for this scale - I can easily see a normal sized Ant-Man type male in the MU world fitting inside. But the vast majority of Iron Man figures are grossly undersized. I digress...As nice as the factory figures are, I had to make some adjustments: Stealth had the chest reactor glossed red. Protoclassic IM received a gloss to the red parts as most were fading, some lines to the chest to mimic the design, a repaint of the yellow-gold (my personal mix) after an acetone mishap and some yellow in the reactor and on the belt. While Classic IM had all the yellow parts painted gold - he's truly the "Golden Avenger" now. So, anyway, onto the rest... Captain Britain - I've always been a fan of the Captain Britain character. Not quite sure why, just always thought he was interesting in the few issues he popped up in when I was a kid. Since I am a fan, I've wanted to have consistency among all the Captains. That meant picking a standard size for Brian Braddock and conforming the other costumes to that new standard. With very nice Excalibur and 1st appearance figures already made by Hasbro I put the rest of the costumes on that buck. This one was just a head swap and a rather sharp paint job. One of my better ones if I do say so myself. This is also the last figure from the Captain America K-Mart 3 pack that needed to be remade into a proper size. No more midget Captains. Iron Man (Mark 47) - A quick Iron Man repaint. I've started to think about adding more Iron Man armors sooner rather than later so I can build a suitable Hall of Armor. To that end I'm mixing in some MCU Iron Man color schemes onto comic figures. I started with painting up a spare Bleeding Edge - since I seem to keep acquiring them somehow - to mimic the Mark 47 color scheme from "Spider-Man: Homecoming". Doesn't look half bad. I'll have to see if I can find a better head though. The original one is abysmal since it's so small. At least with the comic Iron Man figures they look like a MU scale human male could actually be inside the armor. Outside of the head I could at least envision a really skinny person being inside the Bleeding Edge armor so I don't mind using these for the Armor Project. Speaking of the MCU; I added an homage to Avengers:Endgame with a broken Cap shield - though it's really a Cap accessory and will be kept with him. I didn't break it into three as I didn't want to risk losing the smallest piece, but the crack is there if I want to do it later. I had to move the wrist clip and re-secure it, but the largest piece can be worn ala the movie. Finally added in a spare Mjolnir from some pack to the Cap stand. These sort of items are the closest I'll get to MCU customizing. Tombstone - Tombstone got a complete redo and is basically a new custom. I changed out his legs, making him taller (though still not as tall as my Rage custom) and gave him a brand new head. The new head is from Sinister with some detail shaved off. Painted the hair white and gave him red albino eyes. Lastly I added sculpt to the torso to smooth it out and gave him a fresh paint job. Everyone makes some stinkers, the first iteration of this custom was definitely one of mine. That said, he looks much better now. Thor (Eric Masterson) - In my MU Eric Masterson never had the original Mjolnir. When he took over for Thor he received a faux Mjolnir, containing the same properties as Thor's, but without the full power that Thor can summon. This hammer was then repurposed by the smiths in Nidavellir to create the mace he would use after becoming Thunderstrike. I do like the base Hasbro figure so I used that in its entirety and made mods directly to it. Most notably I sanded off the discs below the waist line and added sculpt to the lower legs to match Masterson's boots in the comics. Lastly I sculpted proper knee guards rather than the adequate, but lazy, BRB knee guards they used. The head got a total repaint and on the body I repainted the legs entirely and part of the belt. I also painted the hammer (to match the comics) and cape (just because) - I added a dark wash to spots in the back and weathered the bottom. Came out nice. As a "Thor replacement" character I'm putting this figure in with the Asgardians for now since Thunderstrike is hanging out on the Avengers shelf. White Wolf - "This one may be tired of war, but the White Wolf has rested long enough." I recently decided that I want to expand the supporting characters more. How far I'll go with this is TBD but I started with this Black Panther supporting character after the name popped up in the MCU prompting me to look up who the character was. He was pretty easy to make. A repaint of a BP fig and some light sculpting. The black on the lower legs is painted directly on, the other black areas are sculpted. I went back and forth on cape/no cape and only went cape in the end because that's what most of his appearance art had, but it still looks like an arctic BP outfit to me. The half cape is a small piece of vinyl with a wire for posing. Really not much to this one. I haven't decided what to do with the character backstory yet; stay with the comics or go my own way. In my MU Bucky is still under the control of Hydra so he can't be the White Wolf like in the movies. I'll have to think about it... U.S. Agent - To start, this isn't my second U.S. Agent custom, it's my first. The other figure is when Steve Rogers was running around as the Captain. That said, while I really appreciated the original U.S. Agent figure from the Captain America line, it was way too short to fit in with the other figures, especially once I went full bore into customizing these figures. So, it put the character on the block in terms of creating. I went with the white sleeves as it's the outfit I most associate the character with. This figure did not come together easily. I had to find a way to crack the torso, without shattering it, so I could remove the arms and legs. I wanted the torso and scales intact since that - along with the head & overall torso bulk - made this a worthwhile project. Thankfully the replacement upper arms fit without a mod and the lower arms just needed a swap. But that still left how to attach new legs since it had those horrible pegged hip joints. I ended up having to cut up a t-bar and drill a hole through the torso for it to go in. I don't remember if this belt came with the figure or not, but I added it and painted it along with the rest of the figure - his red is darker as well to further separate him from the Captain. I'd painted this shield a long time ago to go with the original figure in replacing the eagle shield which is ridiculous. I originally only wanted Captain America to have a shiny shield, but decided screw that and glossed this one too. It looks nice and it protects the paint really well. In the end making this guy ended up being way more difficult than I anticipated going in. I'm pleased with the end results. I was just expecting it to come much easier than it did. Iron Fist - I've never been an Iron Fist fan. He never was a starring character in any of the few comics I ran across him in as a child so he was never doing much. Other than him being a protector of Kun Lun and pairing up with Cage I know next to nothing about the character. I was hoping the Netflix show would open the door and make him appealing enough to read about, but that show sucked and I never finished it. However I still wanted an updated Iron Fist, the original is ok when mixed with the original Luke Cage figure but with the rest of the modern Defenders it looks woefully out of place. Except for the closed fists the entire figure was a yellow DD. I sanded down the mask lines on the lower jaw then sculpted over part of the head to make Iron Fist's unique mask design, gave him some hair and visible earlobes and added flexible ties. The logo came out really nice. I wasn't sure I could get it right with the contours of the chest, but it worked out. I'm glad I ended up keeping some of the blast effects that I normally throw out. I cut up a couple of, I think they're Iron Man blast effects. Anyway, I cut off the projection blast part and just kept the base then gave them a light paint job - just some highlights. Since they slip right on over the open or closed hands, they saved me from having to make multiple arms for this figure. I might make a Steel Serpent to give him a villain representative on the shelves, but I think I'm good on Iron Fists with just this one. Ultimate Spider-Man (Into Spider-verse) - I bought the first Miles figure at release and it always bothered me that they never put paint apps on the back of the figure. So when they came out with the second figure with a pattern on both sides, I got that to replace the first and was going to use it for another spider character of some sort. Once "Into the Spider-Verse" came out I knew what to do with the figure, and a quick repaint later I have Miles from the animated feature. I don't really have any plans for this figure, I just wanted to make it after seeing the movie as I really do like the look of this design. Won't replace the comic figure in the main display, though. |

Picked up a few of the Jurassic World humans on clearance at Target. I didn’t have a plan for them, but I can’t resist 1/18 stuff, especially at clearance prices.
