So looking at the announcement:

Outside of a few specialty collector's clubs, Star Wars (which is seemingly fading fast) and smaller sized Transformers...3.75" scale figures with Hasbro is DEAD. It sucks, because I used to collect G.I.Joe and Universe figures, but it is what it is. The name Marvel Legends is still the banner for the brand, which is carried by it's line of 6 inch figures.
That said, these are 6 inch figures, it's just that the Crossbones has either a bad mock up, or bad sculpting. With Hasbro these days, pick your poison. I'm glad to see that they are finally getting around to improving some of the older figures, as the two heads that come with Cap are dynamite, especially when compared with past efforts, and the Crossbones isn't too shabby either (although it's 2 years too late for me to get really excited about.) I'm just hoping that the figure is able to hold an assault or sniper rifle properly with all that gear on his chest. It's funny though, I look at this two pack, and I see more of a kitbash fodder kit than anything truthfully. I could very easily see the Rumlow head being used for a decent MCU version of Jigsaw, while the two Cap heads will be replacing the heads of older MCU Cap figures. Kind of pisses me off that while not perfect, the likeness to this two pack version is so much better than the upcoming Infinity War version, which I only want for the updated body sculpt. Why did Hasbro lowball that attempt? I'm also sitting here trying to think what I can use to make an MCU Shocker as well, since the gauntlets in the film were ones that were stolen from Damage Control by Vulture and his crew in "Homecoming." |
Speaking of kitbashing, does anyone think maybe Hasbro could reuse that gauntlet accessory for Shocker?

Sooooooo excited for the MCU wave!!!!! Thank you Hasbro!!!!!
My guesses given what we know: Guess - #1 Odin from THR1 Guess - CA1 is #2 Red Skull #3 Mark 7 from Avengers Guess - #4 Mandarin from IM3 Guess - THR2 is #5 Heimdall Guess - #6 Ronan from GG1 Guess - #7 Quicksilver and/or Hawkeye frm AVN2 Guess(barely) - AMN1 is #8 Yellowjacket #9 Captain America #9 Crossbones Guess - AVN3 is #10 Collector with all kinds of 'premium' $tuff (possibly even Howard) OR Antman and Wasp I only hope the 'premium' name and price translates to the toys well. I mean moving flaps are ok but not quite premium. Ronans hammer better light up. Most of them will just have large detailed armor and good head sculpts to get those dollars i imagine. Red Skull might have a goofy dio piece. Quicksilver a decent sized running effect. I would like a Paul Rudd head more than i care to admit. But that doesnt need to be in the premium line. |
I think well get Trevor for sure.
I'm trying to take educated guesses based on popularity. Yellowjacket Trevor Ronan Quicksilver Deadpool[ Rumors of Ryan Reynolds from JC] Heimdall Red Skull Winter Soldier Logan[Surprise for fans] War Machine/iron Patriot Ultron redone Anthony Hopkins |
I'm sure they mean Cap when they say Patriotic.....but I'd love if it were an updated Iron Patriot. I love that design.

Ohhhhh I hope that mark 7 comes with an unpacked version like the mark 5 came with the suitcase

Maybe this is the reason for the slam of ML figures lately. Announce a bunch of MCU series at toyfare for the next couple quarters with redesigned packaging and a focus on MCU instead of the mixed waves we’ve seen? Just thinking out loud... damn that crossbones is driving me nuts, wish something was in the pic for scale...

its a pass for me on those cap & crossbones MCU figs
|
I know it's a long shot, but I really want MCU versions of Peggy Carter and Pepper Potts released from this MCU anniversary series.
|
Gotta admit, the price creep for 'premium' was surprising, though better than Mattel's price hike.
Though i dig that they are MCU focused as well as the new Crossbones figure. Given than ML was geared for collectors, i assumed they were already 'premium' Hasbro quality comparatively. That said, $25 may be the new $20 for a Marvel Legend by the end of the year or so. |

I’ll do 25, but they better up there game, no more of this 5 of the same Star lord, or repacking peg warmers with all new figures, and reusing bodys over and over and over... Red, Peggy has been on the top of my list, along with dum dum Dugan for a wile now, just wondering what look would you go with for her? I’m thinking the military look from the end of the movie. That and a cap with his pre costume look, leather jacket, blue helmet, scalloped shield. Now that’s a two pack...

I wonder if they’ll still have BAFs? I’m also thinking, as I have not payed retail for a legends figure sence the x men wave, I have found nearly everything in the 9-12 dollar range, on clearance, discount, or sale and very few figures are hard to find anymore is the new higher price just to allow the stores to put them on “sale” and still not taking a hit?
