Re-read the Adams Longshot mini-series. So I finally opened by X-Men pack. Longshot is a pretty good figure even though most are buying for the Rogue. I recommend him. Now I desperately need a 4" Spiral made.

Dude love that mojo! and totaly second the spiral request.

I just noticed that Longshot is the spitting image of Richard Dean Anderson circa Macgyver. Now I really want him, too bad he's the only one in that pack I want.

I picked up the Xmen set just for Rogue so I have Longshot, Wolverine and Cyclops for trade/sale if anyone is looking.

"Let's sell our figures for market value but fuck scalpers who do the same" - is this our new motto?

Now, this whole argument is based on how we percieve other Arkers. Are they our friends? Are they just the means to get figures cheap? Or are they just a sheep to try to make some money off of them? |

Found an X-Men pack in TRU and scooped it up to look at it, only to see, Rogue was gone. Looked at the box openings and couldn't find a thing, was so confused how they stole her.. then.. I somehow missed it on first glance, the blatantly obvious triangular knife cut right over top of her.. ha. They needed her pretty bad, no BS, no returning with a Star Wars figure, a knife to the front plastic, and out comes Rogue! I wanted to take a picture so bad, but phone was dead..

I noticed HTS has two listings for the Captain America/Wolverine Greatest Battles pack. Does anyone know if there's a difference between the two like there is with the Iron Man/Thor 2 pack?

Squid pro row Mr.Powers, as someone who hasn't delt with anyone here yet, i've gotta say part of it has to be about getting a good vibe, and trust is way more important in a place like this than say Ebay. and although i've never met anyone here in person theres alot of folks I'd send something to on good faith. and I wouldn't deal with someone here who I'd gouge or who'd gouge me. The price in reputation would be too high. if you want top value or "market price" as were calling scalper prices now I guess...theres a thousand places for that (not condoning or condeming) like Ebay.... and if any of you, my dear dear friends have a 10 dollar solid vision....put me first on you list.

I also just noticed that one of the IM's shoulder pads are connected the wrong way on my pack. http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...ps78dbd2f9.jpg http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...psf7c06cc2.jpg http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7dee8a68.jpg http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...ps54422577.jpg http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...psa4a4beb9.jpg http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3abdc042.jpg |
Anyone ever notice how most of the X-men figures are modern but the Avengers are classic?

I think that is a lot of it. To me there is a big difference between a figure you just got at retail and one that you've had in your collection for years and isn't on the shelf anymore. I wouldn't try to pay someone retail for an older figure that goes for much more because I don't know what they paid or how long they've been holding onto it. Paying $30-$40 for a figure I know someone just pulled from a case or found on the pegs is where I have the problem as it's largely artificial demand. Quote:
That's just it. I don't get why anyone would come on here to get top dollar for items that sell easily on ebay or the like. Alarms go off for me as to why they aren't just using ebay where the buyer can be protected. People come here to make trades that help each other or to help people out who aren't getting certain figures in their area. I can see people coming here to forums to sell figures don't have a huge market elsewhere or maybe finding someone what would want to take an entire collection. I've been able to come to an agreement about fair value (both ways) on figures with most people here. The ones were I haven't made the trade/sale/buy with are the ones that demanded top prices and wanted retail for my stuff or agreed to a trade and then wanted to change when I was on my way to the post office. Those people rarely have any feedback here anyway. I think a good trade/sale involves both sides feeling like they got what they wanted but neither side jumping for joy because they just the deal/profit of the century or something. |
