Also, it's not just about toys either. I'm talking about products as a whole. DC's movies are dogshit. DC's Omnibuses are inferior to the ones Marvel has been putting out. DC's animated movies are also crap and their CW shows are becoming a nuance to watch. They're either stretched too thin as far as writers are concerned or they have used up every plot across all five shows that they have no idea what to write about anymore. |

As for the rest of it, I hear you. I'm glad I never really got on board with collecting DC figs. I only have a few so don't feel let down by them. |

The Walking Dead stopped being a good show the moment they fired Darabont from the show. However, it was still watchable until they killed off Andrea. The only passable DC movie is Wonder Woman. Batman & Robin is a superior film compared to Batman vs Superman and Suicide Squad. It's pretty tragic because I was totally a DC fanboy until a little over a year ago. These days, I keep trying to like DC, but I'm finding myself forcing to be a fan the more they make stupid decisions. Rebirth started out so well, but then they fell right back into the same slump they have been in for nearly a decade. Quote:
Supergirl has been hit or miss. When it's great, it's really good. When it's bad, it's pretty detrimental. Everything that dealt with Alex and Maggie was horrible. Not only did it feel forced, but the whole thing ended up being completely irrelevant due to the break up this season. Add on top that they decided to ignore Alex's overcoming the break up just so they could go back to writing her character being depressed over it. It makes no sense. Arrow this season isn't bad either, it's just kind of there. I feel like they don't have any idea what they want to do with the show anymore as they are rehashing plot lines they have already done and the villains are just a snoozefest this season. Quote:
Thus, DCC showed they were going all in with the Icons line so I foolishly jumped into the pool expecting to have a whole new vast collection of figures that were up to modern standards. |
You know, I really don't get why DC has such a problem putting out a 6-inch figure line at least somewhat on par with Marvel Legends.
On one hand, you have the Multiverse figures by Mattel, plagued with bad sculpts, articulation that was outdated even by 2010 standards and poor character/costume selection. On the other hand, you have the Icons figures by DCC. Weird scaling, constant cancellations, often odd articulation scheme and seemingly horrible quality control. It seems like Mattel is at least trying to give their figures better articulation but I don't get why they're being so slow about it. Their DCUC Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle is pretty much exactly what they needed to do on ALL of their figures, plus added ankle rocker. |

I'm thrilled with Sauron, Bishop & Arkady look like improvements on Toybiz offerings (although I'd argue they both still hold up well) - but the rest of the wave?? Okay, I could live with Lady DP - but I don't need the X-Men DP and I definitely don't need the undies DP. Are there still some to be revealed? I damn well hope so. Maybe someone related to Sauron? High Evolutionary would be sweet - but I'd even take a Brainchild. If the shoes need to be filled with cheap to produce repaints - there are plenty to choose from. Hell, just give us the suited body again in a different colour with heads for Fancy Dan, pre-cyborg Silvermane and HP Gyrich - or summat. Just no more frakking Deadpoo. Yay! Spider-Ham! Finally! What's that? His legs don't move? FU Hasbro. Oh, it's cool though - because they'll release a fully articulated one in 2 years time. Only the head will be wrong, so you'll want the old head on the new body. But the paint won't match, so you'll have to get the convention exclusive that comes a year later. In case you hadn't guessed, I'm also happy and bitter about the Brock/Cassidy heads. I think less than 2 weeks ago I stated, in this forum, that the only thing that would get me to buy them was some decent unmasked heads. Bastards. Beautiful bastards. |

I don't even like Deadpool, but I prefer seeing more Legends Deadpool over more Spideys showing up in the line.

This sounds odd but I have no interest in an unmasked Carnage head. When it comes out would someone be interested in it?

I'm not a deadpool fan but that Sauron figure has been on my wishlist forever!! Plus Omega Red....case sold!
