You mean the Essentials line? No thank you. DCC screwed me over when they canceled the Icons line. Outside of possibly Flash characters, I have no desire to start over with another DC line. It also doesn't help that DCC hasn't bothered to do anything to sell us on the line other than, "Hey look, you know you will buy these figures because they are the only DC figures you will be getting of these guys."

Also, it's not just about toys either. I'm talking about products as a whole. DC's movies are dogshit. DC's Omnibuses are inferior to the ones Marvel has been putting out. DC's animated movies are also crap and their CW shows are becoming a nuance to watch. They're either stretched too thin as far as writers are concerned or they have used up every plot across all five shows that they have no idea what to write about anymore.

I disagree about the tv shows and movies, L.O.T is a korky but great show. all tv series come to a thinned out part, heck even Walking dead, thats normal for tv series thou. and movie taste is subjective, i love the DC movies and DC figures. i could be the minority here cause ToyArk tends to be pro-marvel...

I hear and agree with a lot of what you are saying... However, I'm still enjoying CW Flash, Supergirl & Legends for what they are - fun cheese. Not genius, intriguing plot lines - not especially clever dialogue - just some goofy, fun to watch characters, going through the motions. I also think DC have put out some very good animated movies. I've particularly been enjoying the & Son, Bad Blood series.

As for the rest of it, I hear you. I'm glad I never really got on board with collecting DC figs. I only have a few so don't feel let down by them.

Oh god, I find it painful to sit through LoT. Last week's episode was so atrocious that even Matt Ryan phoned in his performance.

The Walking Dead stopped being a good show the moment they fired Darabont from the show. However, it was still watchable until they killed off Andrea.

The only passable DC movie is Wonder Woman. Batman & Robin is a superior film compared to Batman vs Superman and Suicide Squad.

It's pretty tragic because I was totally a DC fanboy until a little over a year ago. These days, I keep trying to like DC, but I'm finding myself forcing to be a fan the more they make stupid decisions. Rebirth started out so well, but then they fell right back into the same slump they have been in for nearly a decade.

Oh, Flash is still my favorite super hero show on TV, but it seems like these guys have no idea what to do with the Rogues as they keep killing them off instead of actually having them form the Rogues. Also, the whole bit with Barry being in prison was so damn stupid.

Supergirl has been hit or miss. When it's great, it's really good. When it's bad, it's pretty detrimental. Everything that dealt with Alex and Maggie was horrible. Not only did it feel forced, but the whole thing ended up being completely irrelevant due to the break up this season. Add on top that they decided to ignore Alex's overcoming the break up just so they could go back to writing her character being depressed over it. It makes no sense.

Arrow this season isn't bad either, it's just kind of there. I feel like they don't have any idea what they want to do with the show anymore as they are rehashing plot lines they have already done and the villains are just a snoozefest this season.

I had nearly every figure Mattel released and sold them off once the Icons came out. THe lackluster articulation was one thing, but the quality control issues were staggering and I found myself opening a new figure, taking a picture, and then putting it on the shelf to never be touched again. My Jonah Hex figure just fell apart when I picked him up to move him onto another shelf.

Thus, DCC showed they were going all in with the Icons line so I foolishly jumped into the pool expecting to have a whole new vast collection of figures that were up to modern standards.

SymbiSpidey 02-18-2018 04:40 PM

You know, I really don't get why DC has such a problem putting out a 6-inch figure line at least somewhat on par with Marvel Legends.

On one hand, you have the Multiverse figures by Mattel, plagued with bad sculpts, articulation that was outdated even by 2010 standards and poor character/costume selection.

On the other hand, you have the Icons figures by DCC. Weird scaling, constant cancellations, often odd articulation scheme and seemingly horrible quality control.

It seems like Mattel is at least trying to give their figures better articulation but I don't get why they're being so slow about it. Their DCUC Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle is pretty much exactly what they needed to do on ALL of their figures, plus added ankle rocker.

Yeah you’d think they’d try to ride marvel legends coat tails, the toy industry has been ripping each other off for years, why not just replicate legends with DC characters? You have a proven built in market for god sake!

Arrow also wasted the really only interesting new character this season vigilante aka vince sobel. Plus the ole getting deathstroke back on the show ( who is really i need of his own damn show ) only to be told nope cant use him again. That shits getting really effin old and ontop of offing vig...that show sunk right back to the porcelin whirlpool.

I couldnt get into flash as the actors looked way too damn young to be in the positions they are in. At leats john ship looked like a freakin adult when he played flash...... Not some just outta high schooler look.

Yup, I'd be properly pissed with them in this situation too. Can't say I'm completely enamoured with Hasbro at the moment either - but they're at least continuing to put out some product that I want and standards seen to still be generally improving.

I'm thrilled with Sauron, Bishop & Arkady look like improvements on Toybiz offerings (although I'd argue they both still hold up well) - but the rest of the wave?? Okay, I could live with Lady DP - but I don't need the X-Men DP and I definitely don't need the undies DP. Are there still some to be revealed? I damn well hope so. Maybe someone related to Sauron? High Evolutionary would be sweet - but I'd even take a Brainchild. If the shoes need to be filled with cheap to produce repaints - there are plenty to choose from. Hell, just give us the suited body again in a different colour with heads for Fancy Dan, pre-cyborg Silvermane and HP Gyrich - or summat. Just no more frakking Deadpoo.

Yay! Spider-Ham! Finally! What's that? His legs don't move? FU Hasbro. Oh, it's cool though - because they'll release a fully articulated one in 2 years time. Only the head will be wrong, so you'll want the old head on the new body. But the paint won't match, so you'll have to get the convention exclusive that comes a year later.

In case you hadn't guessed, I'm also happy and bitter about the Brock/Cassidy heads. I think less than 2 weeks ago I stated, in this forum, that the only thing that would get me to buy them was some decent unmasked heads. Bastards. Beautiful bastards.

tell me about it, too much deadpoo talk on toyark, i just skip it and go on to the next figure thats on the legends thread

MeLikeJinx 02-18-2018 06:02 PM

I don't even like Deadpool, but I prefer seeing more Legends Deadpool over more Spideys showing up in the line.

DarthKamen 02-18-2018 06:09 PM

This sounds odd but I have no interest in an unmasked Carnage head. When it comes out would someone be interested in it?

Starlord67 02-18-2018 06:36 PM

I'm not a deadpool fan but that Sauron figure has been on my wishlist forever!! Plus Omega Red....case sold!

That's really the only remaining Spiderverse figure I want at this point.....well, I'd take Iron Spider, too.

Well now we COULD possibly get another big time and future foundation. As for spider verse what about the what if one that was trained by wolverine and shot a pistol.

I recall a member on heree used him as a signature image.

Spider-Ham has been a long desired figure for alot of us. Im curious if some of their people have been spying on us here on the forums lol

I wonder if that pork grind head was a BAF part.

I think they do but they can't acknowledge it haha. Maybe it'll be a Spider-Ham/ Pork Grind two pack since there's gonna be a LOT of of empty space in that packaging...

Weapon X 02-18-2018 07:45 PM

Don't know if you guys caught this but apparently these two are coming at some point.

The Assassin Spider-man has always had a cool aesthetic. Kinda surprised Hasbro hasn't jumped on him yet. As for me if we have to have another Spider-verse member, I'm unrealistically hoping for the steam punk, Lady Spider.

The BAF for the Venom wave is currently listed on the packaging as "Monster Venom". At this point the extra Pork Grind part is a real head-scratcher, and only makes complete sense with an extra body to go with it.

We talked about it a bit yesterday. People should mail Hasbro their feces for holding out on that Killmonger head, only to release it with a figure body we already have. Shades of that Homecoming two pack all over again.
