Got lucky today and ran into Infinity War Cap today at Walgreens, and while I was not initially thrilled about this figure, at the sale price I figured "why not?"
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4622/...1a4405_z_d.jpg I'm glad I didn't pass him up truthfully. The body sculpt is indeed an all new one with no reused parts, and is probably the best and most accurate portrayal of Cap's gear yet. The colors are downright perfect, with a more muted color scheme, which gives him a weathered look I appreciate. The Wakandan shield is also nicely done, although I would have preferred two of them like he has in the movie. I'll definitely be on the hunt for the kiddie version of Cap that is on the way for the film, as that figure comes with two. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4650/...b8f2a4_z_d.jpg My one one gripe (other than the headsculpt) is that the skin tone doesn't quite match up on the rolled up sleeve to the hand, and since he is not wearing the wrist bracer like he has on the other, it looks off. I rectified this a little bit by adding a leg pouch from my fodder bin (from Scarlet Spider) and it does a great job in covering up the flaw, making it less noticeable. The headsculpt is what it is, mine was fairly clean. I'll probably be touching up the hair and beard with a little bit of drybrushing to get it more accurate. Also, if you have the MCU Cap from Civil War/Giant Man wave, the colors on the helmet are a near perfect match. The skin tone on the face is close enough as well, but you'll need a dremel to get the head to work. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4748/...09835b_z_d.jpg "Thanks for the loaner your highness..." One of my favorite things about this figure though, is we finally have a MCU Cap that is capable of gripping or holding something. This makes him able to finally hold his shield for some added stability, as well as the option for putting a gun in his hand, as Hasbro was kind enough to give him a trigger hand. The articulation is also much better than any of the MCU Caps we have received thus far. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4660/...2c5965_z_d.jpg "We could do this all day..." It's not perfect, but he's definitely the best MCU Cap to date (at least until the 10th anniversary version comes out.) I give it a rec. |

There's only two Conjuring movies though, the first one was all right while teh second one was great. Either way, I'm not sure how you could say "the last few" when there is only two in total and the second movie was a few year's ago. However, you need to watch the good horror movies like The Babadook, Get Out, Split, The Witch, It, etc. Quote:

I didn't bother with the second Conjuring (I thought the first was HIGHLY overrated) and the Abigail spinoffs were lame. I liked Insidious, but hated the sequels. Don't do gore-porn, so never bothered with Saw after the first. Didn't care for the Babadook or "It Follows" either, which are two of the better rated films these past few years. I have yet to see "It" or "Get Out" but plan to soon. And yes...every Paranormal Activity movie has sucked. Rec did found footage sooo much better. Anyways. |

Not sure what to say if you didn't like It Follows because it was like getting a modern day John Carpenter film. The problem is that studios rely way too much on jump scares and gore as it that is what makes a horror movie good when it isn't. It's about the suspense, the tension, sitting at the edge of your seat in anticipation for what you know is going to happen, but unsure how or when it is going to go down. |

I think I just had an issue with pacing with It Follows. I was also having a bad day when I watched it. I really liked the concept though. I might give it another shot. COMPLETELY agree on the last part. Jump scares (along with the increased amount of jump "fake outs") have soured the horror genre for me these past few years. Back to Marvel Legends... On a figure note, if anybody does plan on picking up the Infinity War Cap, try and inspect the paint if you can. As I was drybrushing the figure's hair tonight, I noticed a glaring paint flaw on the left side of the chest, where a random red streak of paint was running along the border of the shoulder strap (it can be seen in my photos.) Apparently Cap is still giving the machines that paint these things fits, as this was common with previous MCU Caps. Thankfully I was able to get it fixed with a little bit of paint, but I know a lot of you are afraid to do any sort of mods or fixes to your figures, so it is something you'll want to look out for. |
Cable is up.

Thanks to the TRU BOGO 50% off sale I got the entire Deadpool wave within this week. Congrats to anybody else who got them too. Bring on the X-Men wave and another good deal later this year.

Looks like I'll be spamming F5 this afternoon when I get home from work to see if Cable becomes instock like everyone else did. Too bad I don't have anyone I could order him with though.

I'm still waiting for both the spidey and deadpool waves that i preordered the begining of the month. I wonder wtf is taking so long. I see both dorkside and bbts still haven't gotten them in.

Maybe it's just Hasbro. The latest line of Transformers, Power of the Primes, had a street date set after Thanksgiving. I found the 1st wave of deluxe figures 2 weeks before that at a local Target. |
Street dates for mass market toys are meaningless, except for the Star Wars release events. If there is a shipping carton with a date on it, expect it on shelves anywhere from a month before to a month after the printed date.

I just got a notification from Dorkside that a portion of my order just shipped. Unfortunately, they didn't tell me what part of my order shipped. I had the entire Lizard wave and 3 figures out of the DP wave on pre order, so I guess I'll just have to be surprised when it gets here...
So those of you with preorders, be on the lookout and let us know what shipped! |

The Deadpool wave (which I bought today at TRU bogo, yay!) I suspect only has a set date with places like Target, but do not carry a hard street date. |
