Looks like Lanard is digging the monster/creature franchises.

For a smaller company they've stepped up their game with new articulated figures. Didn't they even collaborate with Four Horsemen Studios? Plus they are quite cost effective.

They continue to fill the GI Joe void, where 3.75" military toys seem to be dwindling.

Netflix Kingpin. Willing to bet some of you have the head without realising it. :-)

Those look cool. I don't recognize Kingpin's head (or body for that matter). What did you use to make him?

Base body is a Harry Potter Mad Eye Moody. As for the head, it's MU. Let's see if anyone can work out which one!

Radioactive Man

Sithlord1963 11-24-2019 11:31 PM

Not Vance Astro.

Sithlord1963 11-24-2019 11:32 PM

Not Radioactive Man either!

Foreddyn 11-25-2019 07:25 AM

Either Absorbing Man or Drax

Rage.

i remember back around 2017 seeing a talented MU customizer from Thailand that had made a Netflix Kingpin using not just Rage's head sculpt but sculpted the suit on the entire buck.

S/He also did a few other MCU characters (Vision, Barton no sunglasses, Wanda, Pietro, Rocket, & Nebula).
Definitely had some mad skills.

Yep, it's the Rage head slightly modded.

Here is a charity auction to benefit stray cats from kill shelters. The donation is $25 (or I guess Best Offer) and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the charity. It's a Marvel Universe Rogue figure, nothing crazy, but you still get a free figure for doing something nice during the holidays.

Help

Working on a Christmas haul

1. Got the Infinity War and Endgame Disney store figurine sets to make my "definitive" phase one Avengers along with some other characters like Dr. Strange (the legends version has the wrong hair) and Nebula (going to Zorii Bliss route with the body)

2. Getting the Antman and the Wasp set to update my new "Phase 4" Avengers Display aling with the Legends Giant Man.

3. Still missing a proper armored head for Capt. Marvel. Should I go the cheaper Domez route or splurge for the Disney figurine?

Il Cattivo 11-30-2019 10:07 PM

I got that antman set for 2.99. I'd go with the disney set if you can get it at that price since it also comes with goose.

Lucky. Sadly my stores is a dry spell in that regard, so really dependent on online deals. So that might mean going with the domez.

I heard they scale alright, but does anyone have a good page to show this?

Could've sworn I've seen one with Shuri, Nakia, and the Killmonger mask head.

Il Cattivo 12-01-2019 12:47 AM

they're kinda undersized so only a handful of them really work. teen groot, rocket racoon, antman and the females. that's about it.

Il Cattivo 12-01-2019 12:50 AM

and maybe spiderman since tom holland is like 5'6

Sorry for the confusion, I meant the Domez figures.

But you're right, the Disney store figurines, like the Iron Man I have, are somewhat undersized.

Agemo 12-01-2019 06:42 PM

BTW, does anyone have any comparison images for the Toybox Thanos from Disney with typical 3.75 MCU figures?

Despite the animated style, I can't deny that I love the articulation. Will most likely replace the head for starts though.

Talking in a Facebook group about 6 inch and 4 inch at Hasbro. I think one of the things that cuts the deepest is Infinity War and Endgame was sort of end of the current MCU. We got figures for almost everything but the two biggest movies at the end so our collections will never be complete. Then Hasbro goes back and fills in the gap for Legends for all of the older movies but can’t be bothered to give 4 inch fans a couple of figures to round out our MCU collections. They were strictly catering to collectors with those 10 year MCU Anniversary figures, but could be bothered with the fans who were actually buying 4 inch figures when those came out. Hasbro kinda sucks.

Does anyone have any stats on Hasbro's sales for the 4 inch scale?

All I can say is that based on circumventing details on the the scale in the market is that-

1. Hiya toys, despite their higher price tag and QC issues, is still managing to pump out more figures in 2020.

2. Mattel seems to have succeeded in their decision to have a 3.75 JP line for Lost World.

3. Jazwares' Fornite line seems to be going well too.

4. Lanard attaining the Alien license.

5. Various independent 1:18 scale companies like Boss Fight Studios or Marauders Inc.

6. Even despite the merchandise drop, Hasbro is still going the 3.75 inch route with the 2019 Vintage Collection for Rise of the Skywalker.

Why? Because they know that is their MO as well as Star War's before there was even a Black Series 1:12 line.

The only recent 4 inch line that went belly up was Jazwares' Assassins Creed which was probably more to do with incompetence than lack of interest.

Sure, there may be a case for the Marvel Legends brand as Marvel's modern standard for figures, but that can't be said for Hasbro's History with the license when MU was around when Legends wasn't.

The only reason in my mind why the Rainbow Deadpool set or Sinister Six pack are going so below MSRP now is because of the general lack of energy being put into the scale as a whole.

Gamerverse packs aren't going to compensate for the lack of proper comic or MCU products.

This was a rant, but the simple point is Hasbro most certainly have the means to push Marvel 3.75 into profit, they simply don't and obviously want to gear things towards Legends due to the upscaling of the basic figures.

we got thanos and ruffalo hulk from the basic 6" line though. unless you have ocd and refuse to buy them as they aren't official 4" figures.

not having a captain marvel hurts though. the black order would've been cool but I can live without.

pretty sure someone here did that. don't feel like searching for it though. but thanos is about 6 inch.

Thanks. I might pick up the Basic 6 inch hulk as well. Somewhat limited, but decent enough.

I wanted to get the deluxe Thanos as well, but it has a few problems. Most importantly being the face. Could've live with the articulation if it wasn't for the fact that I'm compuslive and the Toybox figure is a thing.
