Congrats dude!

In other news. Am I the only one who actually prefers the first releases of the Hulk figures than the new ones? New ones just look...small, and the new Red Hulk is just....boring.

Scythe 08-28-2012 07:41 PM

I like the first Rulk, cuz imo he needs to be bigger than Hulk, but I like the newer ones darker color.

I really like the old one, if he was a LIIIIIIIIIITTLE less cartoon-y, then he'd be my favorite. I think the new one is more photogenic.

And, yes, the old mold red hulk is a BEAST. I want that thing so badly. Just because he will most likely look awesome next to the new mold, because like Scythe said, I like the idea of red hulk being more.. well.. hulking. :D

I've been kicking myself in the ass for weeks now, for not letting my girlfriend pick me up Rulk for my birthday, or not picking it up myself when we had the chance.

Tiberius 08-28-2012 07:46 PM

I am sure there are some mods out their to give the older molds full leg articulation. That is the ONLY thing that is bad on them imo.

I prefer OG Rulk and LUB Hulk.

"The Hulk to End All Hulks" was anything but. Don't get me wrong, its an excellent fig w some groundbreaking design working for it... but its SMALL.

I'm with you on Red Hulk. The head is much better on the first one and I like the bulk.

SquirtleSquad7 08-28-2012 07:49 PM

I wish I had some sort of laser effect for Cyk's eyes. :[

Tiberius 08-28-2012 07:49 PM

I love the articulation with the news ones. It is flipping awesome. But as I said, new ones are just small! Wonder if it was a mistake... Really wish the new Rulk had a different face sculpt. If I can get them cheap I probably will because Rulk needs a serious facial [hahahaha].

A feel a little bad for posting this...but only a little ;)

Damn, Noodlechow! You're definitely one of a handful of talented Arkers (that always amaze me; there's definitely more than a handful of talented Arkers) that always leaves my jaw on the floor after seeing their pics. And I'm the guy who pretty much shared a display with the Toyark renowned "Symbiote" for several years before moving out.

Can't wait to finish furnishing my place so I can participate in this thread more often again.

Or smelling his fingers.

Scythe 08-28-2012 08:00 PM

That one Scythe's Fiance-Lady comes up to me and says: "I want an MU Ms. Marvel!"

I'm just like: "Good luck with that, bro."

This box from ToyWiz on the doorstep when I got home from work certainly made up for the Death of Vision.

I was going to comment about this post until I got to this...

Punisher? Paint is just as bad as previously stated.
Kang? BEAUTIFUL! But mine has like a razor cut near his wrist and there's like a chunk hanging off.
Scarlet Witch? Perfect.
She-Hulk? Perfect.
FF Spider-Man? Had a chunk of melted plastic on his chest. I pulled it off carefully but it took part of the black chest Spider logo off.

Blah.

My Punisher is the same way, and I don't understand why the FF Spidey has a 5 O'clock shadow on his face. They really overdid the shading in a bad way here. Everything else I agree with too. Overall, the wave is a solid wave; it's just the execution on a couple of figs.

For the folks worried about wave 18; I would recommend chillaxin. They are all packed into a revision case that will be out soon enough, too. It royally sucks when waves skip retail though.

I respectfully disagree. I love the new Hulk. I'm not super-attuned to scale, and this hulk is big enough to be bigger than most MU figures, but not so big as to be out of place in the MU. I was not a fan of the wave 2 Hulk's Tim Sale-inspired face. He just isn't a definitive Hulk artist to me. And while the comic pack/LUB Hulk is decent, the lessons they've learned as far as sculpting and articulation since then really make a difference. The new sculpt face is perfect for Hulk, and the articulation lives up to the billing.

The Red Hulk situation is almost the exact opposite in my mind. The first time around, they nailed a definitive artist's representation of a character, and that head sculpt alone makes up for the lack of articulation. Plus, Rulk is cool, but not a main focus in my toyverse, so as long as he's hanging out in the background, he doesn't need super-articulation. New Rulk just looks like a Hulk repaint instead of its own character like the first one.

I realize my position is hypocritical, but I think the new Hulk's sculpt and articulation make up for any scale misgivings, and old Rulk's face sculpt makes up for any lacking articulation.

As far as siggy-gate goes, I hope my sig stays because I love it. Every time I see it, I feel like I've won the cool siggy competition. I can't thank Scythe enough.

SquirtleSquad7 08-28-2012 08:02 PM

Anyone interested in helping me get some new wave plastic crack? Since we're on the subject of Hulk, I do have these..

http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/...7/IMG_0167.jpg

I'm talking about the Abomination and 2007 Smash & Crash Hulk (He can make a roaring motion)

Here's Hulk next to MU, and he's fairly in scale.

http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/...7/00043a68.jpg

and, yes, he looks constipated.. lol
