So last week I got Starfire from Amazon and then this week Best Buy saw fit to tempt me with a lone Blackfire. She's a slick repaint for sure, I particularly like the subtle purple wash on her hair, but there's some sculpted details that don't line up as a result of her just being a repaint which I will now bitch about. Her hands are in her orange-skin color but they still have all of the same sculpted glove details from Starfire. More obviously then she does not have her crown/face-frame headpiece at all. The recent page puncher Brainiac platinum variant has an entirely different head, would it really have been too much effort to make a new hair piece with the crown thing for Blackfire? Bitching concluded. I'll say it again, she's a slick repaint but man I am not happy that this totally separate character is a platinum chase variant. I feel like the platinum chase for Starfire should've been like how Penguin was still Penguin but in classic garish colors or Cap'n Boomerang was still himself but the White Lantern version, maybe they could've done her hair in translucent plastic and gone with the metallic purple and silver for her costume.

I wish I can find one so I can complain about it. Haha.

But you're right, I don't know why McFarlane tends to make the most irrational decisions, like making essential individuals, and army builders, hard to find chase figures. That just make no sense from the collector point of view.

Terrific, He-Man is the best! Classic.

It so funny He-Man videos. Skeletor may be the master of the insult, but HE-MAN is still the Master of the Universe, and has some great one-liners of his own!

WHoops wrong thread

First piece, the Neijirangers and Gingaioh arrived from Tokullectibles:

Secondly, we were at Fan Expo Denver today and probably bought more than we should have.

We got to meet Dwayne Cameron from Power Rangers Operation Overdrive, who was pretty cool. Bought a script copy from him for Once A Ranger Part 2 and he gave us two prints with it:

As you can also see in the picture above, we came across a collection of EC Comic's romance line from the 50s, which my wife wanted. We also met Priscilla Presley, who my wife bought the wedding picture. However, for me, it was like OH MY FUCKING GOD I GET TO MEET SOMEONE WHO WAS IN TALES FROM THE CRYPT!!! She is the first person ever to autograph my Tales from the Crypt book:

https://i.imgur.com/8Ljbn7o.jpg

FINALLY, the whole reason we went to Fan Expo this year was to get an autograph from Keith David. It was a battle between my posters for They Live, Pitch Black, and Gargoyles, but They Live ultimately won in the end (would have been The Thing if I had one).

https://i.imgur.com/SBJiz1K.jpg

One funny bit though, one person brought in a sealed VHS copy of The Thing for him to sign.

That's pretty cool. I would've brought a copy of There's Something About Mary.

Cool but the blue all over Bane looks really bad.

It doesn't bug me so much in person, but I'll probably paint over it with black at some point. The priority for me today was getting rid of the battle damage on Batman's suit. Most of it came off pretty quickly with acetone. All I have left is the spot on his neck and his face.

Is one of them in that movie?

Anyway, I got to meet Geoff Johns today and had him autograph my first Flash omnibus.

Keith David plays Cameron Diaz's stepdad at the beginning.

Ah. I don't remember that as I only watched it once back on VHS. Never got into it.

Exactly. How many total do you suspect you have, Doc? Ballpark it. I'm genuinely curious. You post some great stuff.

It's so much better to own physical media than to "own" digital. Anyone who thinks otherwise should ask long time Funimation digital owners their opinion. LOL

Impressive.

There aren't enough hours in a person's life to watch all those videos.

lol

And yet, I've watched 80% of them.

Well okay, some of them, like the South Parks, I only have so I can rip footage from them in my reviews. Plus, several titles are my wife's that I will never watch.

BTW, there's like 3 containers of movies that aren't on display because they're DVD/BD versions that were upgraded to 4K.

I've wanted to pick that set up but I've been trying to wait for a price drop. Only really want it for the Gambit.

Agreed on both counts... it's 27 for "circle week"
