Never even occurred to me that Australian etailers might get the chase variant Blackfire. |

Savings Haul: Found the two members of the Ghost Crew at a local collectibles shop and finally had some luck at Ollie's with the set of Rogues.

Got the Transformers Jurassic Park Dilophocon and JP12 collaborative pack. The original price of this pack was insane to me and then during the last round of Prime sales when it was down to around $50 I was already looking at other items, but this time for only $35 and with nothing much else on my plate I easily found myself pulling the trigger. I do think they made too much of Dilophocon the red-brown color but I guess the decision was made so she wouldn't just be mostly green in robot mode. In typical dino-former fashion any theropod figure smaller than a leader class winds up with a wide dino mode but overall it's a nice dino-mode of the JP version of a Dilophosaurus. JP12 is pretty excellent in both modes but I think it's funny/ironic that the robot clearly based on Nedry is an Autobot even though the movie portrays Nedry as greedy, duplicitous, and the cause of most of the danger. You know, heroic Autobot shit. I really like the embryo storage unit which is fittingly now marked with an Autobot symbol instead of the Barbasol logo and the JP-branded safety helmet is a nice bonus although it's a bit tricky to keep on his head during transformation, but the winch turning into some kind of gun just looks like a robot holding a cable-spooling device so I'm glad that I can just leave that on his chest. The box that held all the accessories is nicely detailed too, nice enough to be used as a display piece like I pictured above. Overall the Tyrannocon and JP93 was a more impressive set but it's also not the fairest comparison since that was a leader class figure and a moderate-to-large deluxe while these are both small-to-moderate deluxe figures. |

I didn't bother pre-ordering this set because I already had McFarlane's first megafig Bane and I wasn't too keen on the comic shading effects with the paint here, but then I just found it at Target and buckled like a belt. I like it because I like Bane but I've still got issues with the paint. Batman particularly looks lazy/cheap since all of the battle damage exists only as paint apps, the sculpt is untouched. I will say I like how the cape came out, I'm usually not a fan of comic-based figures having soft-goods capes but here it makes total sense so Bane can break his back. Also Batman's agonized expression is just begging you to reduce him to being an accessory for Bane. Bane himself is largely the same toy as last time but with some notable changes. This version sports a new head sculpt, a new belt, a different venom tube, and no web gear or venom tank on the back. A common complaint I saw just about everywhere regarding the first megafig Bane was that he only had the grasping hands and no fists, this release has those same grasping hands AND a pair of fists. I will note, however, that the skin tone on this two pack Bane is much lighter so without extra work they don't look right on the previous release. The venom tube connecting from his head to his arm does put some limits on what he can pull off, particularly restricting how far left he can look. At the same time the removal of the tank does make him easier to just grab and mess with. Overall I prefer the first megafig but taken as a standalone set I do like this one for letting me have a permanent "Bane breaking the Bat" displayed elsewhere. |

Sunday morning 7am Target find.
https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1721561413 https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1721561413 I was able to place an online order for Warbird. When I checked Warbird stock last week at local Target, it showed 9. This morning when I placed the shipping order, it says 3, at 6:30am (before they open) it's out of stock. Can you say "inside job"? Ollie’s https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1721561413 https://www.toyark.com/forums/attach...1&d=1721561413 |

This Spider-Man omnibus features the issues I grew up with such as Carnage's first appearance, the hologram cover issue, and the constant team ups with Darkhawk, the New Warriors, etc. It's nice to have complete stories as I never got to read all of the multiparters in full. Another 25 Amazing issues knocked off my list.
