Does me no good without the entire wave, and it pisses me off that TRU didn't honor their $10 deal and charged me the full $20 for the figure.

Also, being the masochist I am went to another Walmart today. However, this time I actually got customer service and learned why no one could find the figures at the other store the other night. He told me all of the new Marvel stuff were shipped to them on a pallet packed with multiple lines of figures for the reset they are doing next week, so they can't even get to the figures until they take the pallet about. He said they are doing their reset on either Tuesday or Wed.

Thought you were refusing the shipment. lol what happen?

Got Thanos today. Nice figure and makes me happy I didn't do the BAF version. So far on all of the BAF that Hasbro has released individually I have gotten lucky by not previously completing them. It does make wonder how many BAF they will rerelease as their own figures, so far we have Thanos, Ares, Groot and Hulkbuster Iron man.

Makes me wonder if I should pass on trying to get the pieces for the movie version.

Wouldn't suprise me if they release it later by itself and a slight redeco. Thankfully I slip MCU figures unless I need them for the BAF or I think they are cool looking.

I know the Hulkbuster is the movie version (I really only buy the comic versions), but it looks so good and I think it will go well with the comic figures.

Hulkbuster is a nice figure, iron man figures for the most part go well with comic figures. When I first saw the infinity war wave I thought the iron man as comic because of his vibrant colors.

Post Office only delivers packages to my leasing office, so it was there when I got home from work. Secondly, I worked, so even if FedEx had delivered it, they would have just dropped it off at the leasing office too. Can't exactly refuse something when you're not home to refuse it.

Plus, I've calmed down and am no longer mentally exhausted from Tuesday. It's a cool figure. I like the red better than the other Deadpool, but the lack of weapons suck. Still, it's nice that they put it on the Sunfire body rather than the same one we have already had a million times. Putting the other DP's knife in one hand and have the sword in the other brings back the nostalgia of having that very old Toy Biz one from the 90s. The joints are nice and tight (without being too tight) and the paint apps are stellar.

Iron Man is good because he's a character who is often easy to fudge into comic displays given his armors are usually pretty close to the comics.

SymbiSpidey 03-02-2018 01:26 AM

What IS the best Iron-Man figure actually, comic or otherwise?

Most have been plagued by one or two glaring flaws, but I think the recent Okoye Wave is possibly the best.

Score! Found the last 2 figures I needed for the Spiderman Lizard wave at Walgreens. Def nice saving money on that whole wave. Still no Mr fantastic tho.

MCU one i think is the iron man mark 6 (iron man 2 movie one), he came with multiple hands , he couldnt look up much unless you bought the chest that has a golden trim just below the neck , i noticed this with the mark 4 version they released 2 mark6's though thinking that the mark 7 might top it maybe... but that one should have come with more accessories in my opinion from what was shown at toyfair.

Highly unlikely. Just because it says the do doesn't mean they actually do as they just clearly demonstrated with my Deadpool wave order.

I thought the same thing. I still might grab that figure to have some variety, it looks pretty nice in the pictures. I’ll have to see how it is in scale with other figures. Most of the Iron Man figures are too small imo. That’s what I love about the Black Panther Wave Iron Man, it seems much larger than previous ones.

Good question. I like the Classic version from the 2 pack with Sharon Carter that was released a number of years ago, he was re-released in the Iron Monger wave with 2 helmets as well. I also love the 90's armor that came out in the Face Off 2 pack with the Mandarin from the Toy Biz era. The most recent one from the BP wave is nice too.

I know you had a bad experience with them but I ordered both deadpool and spicy waves through them and got what I ordered and within 2 days after order confirmation.

Meanwhile, in the UK, TRU website has effectively been closed now the company has officially gone into administration. Everything is being marked down to clear the shelves ... and we're snowed in due to frakkin' storm Emma so I can't get there!

Having said that, it sounds like it is a blanket 25% reduction - meaning I could go and buy any of 8 Ragnarok Odinsons for £20.50 ($28) or an Evolution of Groot set for £15 ($20)... so I guess I'm still not really missing out on much ML related. Lego however is a different story. 25% could lead to some decent purchases there, depending on what's still on shelves.

I’ve never seen it in person, but that Face Off 2 Pack Mandarin Iron Man looks good in pictures.

It is amazing when you look at a list, how many Iron Man Legends there are and yet it’s so difficult to find a good one. I didn’t like the BP wave one in pictures, but now that I have it I’m so glad they made it. Next up, I hope they make a solid comic version of the Hulk. There are a couple older ones that look good, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a new one.

It's hard to say because yeah, usually there are flaws. But I'd say the best is the battle damaged one from the Civil War 3-pack. It's one of the more decent suit designs, and they got the coloring on the red parts correct—for once they didn't look like ketchup or a toy.

I like the ANAD Iron Man that came in the Okoye wave the best. My second runner up would be the Mark 47 that came in the Homecoming 2 pack.

That armor has grown on me but i wish theyd reused the head from the uk disney store four pack instead of that gendy tartakovsky styleized head but i have the old tru two pack head on it till i can pull a miracle outta a hat and get that uk one.
I will agree the civil war armor does make a nice stand in and can pass for a comic one...but damnit why wont hasbro give the silver centurion a regular retail release? They gave us a comic iron monger but not tonys armor from that showdown? :(

Parademon1 03-02-2018 01:55 PM

I Don't collect MCU so as far as comic based IM amors go, I have to go with the Disney Euro boxset IM that also came with the alternate Stark head. Perfect scale & build. The classic red/yellow version that came out in the 2 pack with Maria Hill came oh so close to being perfect but they made him too small & with a puny torso & head that didn't match his arms/legs. Imo, Hasbro has yet to make the definitive classic comic IM.

VashTS 03-02-2018 02:31 PM

I like that Disney Euro im. Has good proportions buy never checked how well it scales.

Yes! We need a new version of that. The old Toy Biz one has not stood the test of time, for me at least.

Nabbed a Mr. Fantastic before the end of the sale... finally, I can rest easy.
