That's the concept my man! Originally I had used electroluminescent wire, but it looked too "electric" or "energized". I opted for sideglow fiber optic hose as it looks more ethereal, like frozen gasses in the hose.

I'm really excited to paint this guy up. I almost want to mold a clear helmet and ditch the pinkish factory one. I added the LEDs inside the helmet to give a creepy vibe, like the helmets the cast wore in the original Alien.

This is awesome! I had a similar idea last year but had no clue as to how to do it. KUDOS!

FancyPants 07-04-2012 08:48 PM

Proper steeze big hank. Love the LCDs

DogFashionDisco 07-04-2012 09:33 PM

Nice Freeze BHC, I wonder if there is a way to get effects like that on the Arkham City version too?

I would think so, I think it would look killer! I really love the AC Freeze figure. So much so I would shell out $50 for him. As awesome as AC Croc is, I can't see him in my collection. I love the headsculpt, but the height is a deal breaker for an old classic guy like me. Hell I still like my. Batman with blue and gray tights, yellow belt and emblem!

True He is based in the Arkham City Universe and there Croc along with Grundy are Huge. I have a DCUC Grundy so I am happy with him but am anxiously awaiting my Croc and Freeze to arrive.

DogFashionDisco 07-04-2012 09:56 PM

You and someone else said something about his height, and I just don't understand why you guys hate it. He is really tall in the game, so it makes sense that the figure is a little taller, and it makes him stick out among my other figures.

Oh I don't hate him at all, he lools like a phenomenal figure. But I won't have a dedicated AC/AA shelf so I can pass on him. He's a bit too gritty and dark for my classics Batshelf, so I'm content to admire him in other folks collections.

Now if I scored him for a song, I would put him on my BAF/CnC/big boy shelf in a heartbeat.

DogFashionDisco 07-04-2012 10:07 PM

Oh ok, I think I know what you're saying. You don't think he'll fit in with a Superfriends-type collection, and that definitely makes sense.

WOW Big Hank, your customs simply blow me away man!! I've loved every piece of work you've done. That's shaping up to be the best Freeze ever. Oh and Ken, yeah I've played it...the concept is still downright disturbing though. I love the Arkham games, but I never felt Croc should be bigger than Bane.

I fixed my Arkham City Freeze! I tried the hair dryer trick, and sure enough I could free his knee pad from the rest of his leg. It is complete bullshit that this quality control issue happened with such an expensive figure, and I can see where the knee pad was basically bonded to the leg by accident. It doesn't take away from the figure esthetically, but I am still extremely disappointed.

I relish the idea of having to do that. Still a sweet figure though

I'm really thinking about expanding into arts kai figures and stuff like that. AA batman is obviously first and the joker. My local toy shop has them cheaper than ebay with no tax or shipping. It's a more feasible alternative to hot toys

DogFashionDisco 07-04-2012 11:37 PM

Well it depends on scale and how many figures you want to display. They look really cool though.

I'd just get another shelf. There's a spot on my wall i've been saving. I love the DBZ figures too. The mass effect ones would be high on my list too after batman.

im not to crazy about the joker or batman's but i really want that harley quinn play arts

Torn Prince 07-05-2012 05:51 AM

I'd like to get the Harley and Joker from Play Arts...but they're so damn expensive...plus they're completely out of scale with the rest of my Batman stuff.

Blah blah blah, enough about Mr Freeze when METALLO IS IN MY HANDS! [Take that any way you want].

Huuuuuuge figure. Lots of detail too. Has some battle damage, dents, scrapes. Some dirty on his feet. The Kryptonite in his chest has some paint around the metal area to make it give a glowing effect, real smart. The eyes on this fucker is the scariest thing. I could just imagine these things staring down at me and the next thing I know a shit a brick.

You guys need to get this figure =3.

But I have had him for a while now. I need something new.

Tiberius 07-05-2012 02:52 PM

Geeeeeet Bizzaro

Bubba304 07-05-2012 02:54 PM

Yeah Metallo's been at home here for a while....newest addition to my collection was the LCBH wave 2.....not DC...but they fit in well with my ML, DCUC, MOTUC, and DC Directs. I love C&C's and BAF's....so I've been trying to get my hands on monkeyman for a few yrs...what an amazing figure!

DogFashionDisco 07-05-2012 03:03 PM

Metallo is pretty awesome. By the way T, you are freaking out man. haha
Anyway, I got Grundy in the mail today, I might be taking some pictures of it later if I have time after class tonight.

Oh man, Grundy is so on my hit list. I'll spend a whole paycheck and whore out my cat if need be!

DogFashionDisco 07-05-2012 03:08 PM

It's really nice, I couldn't imagine my collection without it now. I'm glad I ordered it when I did, because everything just happened to line up with money and its availability, otherwise I'd never have found one or be able to afford it. By the way, he is freaking huge.

So is Metallo. I saw one [Grundy] on eBay with no...left [or right] arm for 60 bucks.
