Can't speak as to the internet fan-casting, but they've gotta save someone for the sequel, and it makes sense for the villain(s) of Captain Marvel's first movie to be tied more directly to her origin story than Moonstone really is.

That said, I'm gonna be REALLY surprised if we don't get a "classic Ms. Marvel" figure that has a Moonstone/Dark Ms. Marvel alt-head packaged with it (or a Dark Ms. Marvel figure with a classic Carol headsculpt with it, either way) in the inevitable Captain Marvel wave of Legends. Or maybe in a two-pack with a classic Mar-Vell?

If anyone has either Lizard BAF arm they don't need, hit me up.

So i just opened them all and I still feel the same. Not a winner in the bunch.

I like the Lizard most of all of the entire wave and he's cool..
but the regular figures..
eh....Least intresting wave I've ever bought.

in order of like (which isn't saying much)

1. Spider-Man Noir - he just looks cool
2. Spider-Woman - I actually like this figure and this costume
3. GwenPool - She and okay and a sorta fun figure
4. Mysterio - He's okay. up close that white skull sculpt is pretty cool.
5. Prowler - he's okay
6. Lasher - out of context of other figures, the wave, the BAF piece, SpiderVerse.. I would not have purchased this figure. aka filler.
7. Spider-Punk - Ditto

Just got that one a few weeks ago and I wholeheartedly concur sir...THAT'S LOKI!!

Didn't we just get a comic accurate Loki with the A-Force set? =P

I think the Gwen is decent. Maybe after I read her book..I'll be a bit more into the character.

That Loki from A-Force, to me, was the best looking figure of the bunch. Though I know you were just being facetious..

Spider-Woman of Burnside though...I could have lived without.

I've been lazy...I gotta get my reviews/thoughts up soon.

I don't think the Thanos thing was a screw up. I have little faith in the lower denominator of the community. I've seen scalpers, swappers, and thieves pull some pretty creative shit to get away with their Legends schemes.

Man...you guys with your magical brickseek...lol. When will you learn?

I have never had that site work a single time in my favor, even with basic items not toy related like video games and electronics. Do you really think there's a magical "one site knows all" that can figure out the inventory of nearly every major retailer out there in your hometown?

Truth be told, if you "found" something because of brickseek, the numbers game just happened to be in your favor that day, not because the site could actually figure out what was sitting in a particular store's inventory. It's this promise though that keeps people coming back. A placebo for your shopping instincts if you will. I'm pretty sure that user traffic is how they make their money.

Personally i think gwenpool was just a cash in on the whole Gwen stacy phenomenonm. Yes i know she's not gwen stacy but Gwen poole. Basically a female deadpool.

Figure wise she seems out of place in a spidey wave. She would have been better off as a walgreens figure released by herself.

Spider woman or now spider girl because she went from a voluptuous woman in her original costume to a teenage girl an yes i agree, she seems like a character made to compete with batgirl.

Like i said i never opened up any of them yet,but i just had no interest in even keeping either of them. We could have easily have had gotten puma and vermin and i'd been happy.

As for brick seek. I was a nay sayer prior. I guess i figured maybe i could have found thanos faster. Boy was i wrong..... never again will i do the brickseek BS. I'll stick to the two walmarts i normally frequent. They'll eventually get him in

No, the A-Force set was not the real Loki.

And by real Loki I mean the male version. Oh, and the one designed by Jack Kirby.

I totally was being facetious. I was poking the bear a bit for a reaction to see how long it would take before someone would say that it's not the real Loki, or something about Marvel's agendas...

It was a great looking figure though. I ended up buying her loose on eBay, and it's the only figure from the A-Force set that I own. All and all, she's very well done.

Can't disagree on Gwenpool...the whole reason she even exists was because of the popularity of all those Gwen Stacy covers when Spider-Gwen debuted. Marvel knew they could just print money with it, and gave it a run. So yeah...cash grab. I also agree that the figure is out of place with Spidey, but that was the only fault I found with it truthfully, outside of one other minor gripe...which I'll touch on in a bit.

That didn't take long. See...that's all I wanted to hear. =)

Trivial Psychic 03-07-2018 10:38 PM

So I've been putting this off a bit, so here's my thoughts and things I noticed with the Lizard wave...

  1. Prowler: This was the character I was most excited to receive, but was let down the most by. I'm not sure what it is about it, but the whole figure feels really off. The head is too big, the reused Moon Knight cape was clearly the wrong choice (as the collar covers half of the face when pegged on,) and the mold they chose is really unflattering. It looks like Prowler is out and about in some loosely fitted pajamas. I like the new claw hands (and wish they were used with Lasher,) but the wrist bracelets fit really loose on my Prowler, and throws the look off a bit. I also wish that Hasbro would stop being so cheap, and just sculpt the cuffs on the boots already. I have managed to get them to stay up like they should, but now they restrict the calf rotation a little bit. On the plus side, this head will become a base for MANY a Spawn custom in the near future. Other than that, I feel really unfulfilled, and I know that this is it for him, because we are getting not one, but TWO Hobie Brown figures in a single wave. Prowler is a character I've been waiting for the Legends treatment patiently since I sold off my entire collection of Fox Animated figures, and this one is just not as cool as that original one...

  2. Spider-Woman: I like the sculpt, and the colors...they really pop, and mine had great line work. The head sculpt is a pretty one as well, though I thought it actually looks more Asian than Caucasian, meaning that I think the head is actually a better fit for Silk, and maybe even a future Colleen Wing figure. Outside of that, there's not much else I can say. No accessories hurt it, and the fact that the figure is also on a smaller body mold than the previous Spider-Woman is a bit jarring to me. Also, as nice as the head is, it's undersized for the Moonstone body, meaning it doesn't quite look right as an unmasked portrait on the Thanos wave Spider-Woman figure. That more than anything made me just kinda shrug this one off...

  3. Spider-Punk: What....the....****. I know this is an actual Spider-Verse character...but I can't help but feel like I'm looking at one of those bad, gimmick themed Spidey figures from ToyBiz's SMC line. Or Johnny Napalm from Guitar Hero in a special, Spidey themed, DLC outfit. Still, I'll give some credit, I like the guitar hands (which work with most Pizza Spidey bodies btw) and he's rocking some cool kicks. Take off the vest, and the costume looks pretty cool as well, and he has the closest thing to calf rotation that we have gotten on a Spider-Man figure in a LONG time. He also looks great on just about any Legends scale musical instrument you can find, and can strike some pretty epic and fun poses. I might just go looking for the drum set to my old McFarlane KISS figures, because he'd be perfect for it. The thing I like most though I have to say, is the vest he's wearing. It's OUTSTANDING! Sculpted well, with a superb amount of detail, and I really dig the patch on the back. I actually had a vest JUST LIKE THIS back in high school...

I'll stop here for fear of this post being too long, but I'll be covering the others next go around...

Ironically, it IS the real Loki. 616 universe Loki changed into a woman, as he did in Norse mythology, and wore that exact costume.

Unless he did it later, it was after Ragnarok, when all of Asgards spirits and bodies were separated, Loki took Sif's body and left Sif in the body of a barely alive 97 year old woman. But who can keep track with Marvel anymore. (and a topic for another time)

Gave up on Vibranium Panther (didn't want it that badly), and with a few bucks off, got the BP wave T'Challa. Which is probably for the best anyway as in the last few years I've found myself going almost exclusively for MCU figure anyway. I don't know how, but somehow I completely missed that he has butterfly shoulders until after I opened him.

Also, as a minor aside, the Walmart I went to had a single ML, Beetle and that was it. I picked up Black Panther when I went grocery shopping that evening.

I already said, I order waves online. If i happen to find them in the store first..I'll just grab them and cancel my order. That way the hunt isn't NECESSARY.. just a fun choice if i so choose.

when i first saw these in Walmart there were so many of them. I thought everyone would find them. Fast forward and it seems like they are GONE from shelves. I wish there as a way to let other arkers (who don't mind picking up thing for others) know what others needs are. I'm always down to grab something for the community.
I'd certainly have grabbed ya one.

Brownfinger 03-08-2018 06:15 AM

I'm confused, I thought lady Loki was really just Loki being his crafty trixter self? It doesn't seem beneath a trixter god to switch teams, so to speak, because he wants to or just to mess with people and throw them off. Or is she someone else entirely? I faded in and out around the time that Asgard was in Oklahoma so I probably missed some stuff.
Well anyway, it's a great figure. Really great figure.

I'm glad you said it first because it's genuinely adorable that the flames of their unyielding affection are fanned by their shared love of genocidal ruin. A woman you can give equal share of your interests with is the goddamn best.

That's not my point. Plus, I don't agree. Just because it is the actual Loki turning himself into a woman does not mean I consider it to be the real Loki as far as figures go.

That is also why I stated they need to do a Kirby design Loki figure.

Oh, man. This is gonna bother me, now. They have their pillow talk throughout, I think we see it pop up during "Infinity"? Which is really not helpful at all, is it, Marvel sure does love that word. It was an event in 2013, and as crossover events go, it was actually decent. Although sometimes it was kinda grating that every alien fleet was begging Captain America for tactical advice. Like okay, I love me some Cap too, but some of these dudes are conquerors who rule entire systems worth of planets so I think they probably know how to fight with spaceships in space most of the time. Thanks.
On topic, their relationship is never a plot point, they just occasionally will verbally hump whenever they show up. They did go to Wakanda in that book, I don't remember if they went together. I really should read it again in my lead up to the movie in April.

Now where is my damn Corvus Glaive figure at?

I gotta find my next (in chronological order) major (um what do we call the space stories) that occurred after Annihilation and get caught up.

Cosmic Marvel. 🙏
Annihilus is in that one, interestingly. And not as a bad guy! The big bads in that event are apparently such bastards that everyone is like yeah okay cool, throw the Annihilation wave at them. How can that ever backfire?

And yeah, before Thanos crushed him like one of those plastic dixie cups, Corvus was a loyal servant. I think he just got killed by Rogue after being brought back to life again, actually, it's hard to keep up.

But I’d take a Kirby one too!

donmeca2020 03-08-2018 08:53 AM

While we're at it talking about new figures. I'd love to see Punisher in the war machine armor. The current story arc has been pretty bad ass, and i've never been that much of a punisher fan.

Tarooster 03-08-2018 08:53 AM

Just found Mr Fantastic at Walgreens looks like they had a few. Also they had Spidey from the Avengers wave so they are atleast getting partials of that as well.

TheLegendMarvel 03-08-2018 10:04 AM

Has anyone in Texas been able to find the Thanos wave anywhere? I’m in the DFW area and everywhere I’ve checked, Walmart, target, the Toys r uses that are about to close: none of them have anything besides me occasionally coming across the iron man figure

Are they supposed to hit more shelves next weekend or something?
