For all my bitching about TRU, I scored these at open for BOGO40%. Still can’t find the Lizard wave anywhere. Right when I figure out my TRU they go bankrupt, WTF.

My X-23 has some paint issues, I’m going to try and touch her up though.

Not according to the employees, at least at two of those three. One employee said they sold them off last week and the other said they can't find them.

With the Vision/Scarlet Witch pack already being out, I am deathly afraid of it becoming VERY rare. A friend of mine really wants it and I always try to help him out since he's kind of stuck at home due to health reasons. I don't want to let him down.

I could see a lot of this hitting Amazon. Or some other online place like Big Bad Toy Store or Entertainment Earth.

In the meantime, I'll be hitting those clearance sales for custom fodder!

A lot depends on how fast TRU liquidates stuff, and if/when they halt shipments to the stores.

I could EASILY see a scenario where the Vision/Scarlet Witch pack is super hot/super rare intially/through the GOB phase, and then a ton of them end up showing up at a closeout retailer like ROSS/TJ Maxx/Marshall's around Christmas or sometime next year.

Another strong possibility for "where do the unreleased exclusives go?": HasbroToyShop. That'd likely be the easiest route for them unless other retailers are eager to buy up the unsold stock.

On the plus side: I think if it truly ends up that Vision/Scarlet Witch is impossible to find due to circumstance, Hasbro will probably find a way to get him out in another fashion relatively quickly.

Should the shutdown happen, I could see Entertainment Earth scooping up the remaining unreleased exclusives. They've done 'shared' exclusives with TRU in the past, particularly Hasbro stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if they had the opportunity to go in on them.

I suspect Hasbro will get all of this out through other avenues, though some of it (the less timely non IW stuff) may not come this year. As bad as I feel for the every day, lower level employees of TRU I'm kind of glad this is happening, in a way - if it does indeed happen which is not 100% confirmed. When company leaders are mismanaging this badly, something is bound to break most of the time...and sometimes they get elected into office....ANYWAYS...I may hit our local TRU at some point in the next week just out of curiosity. I really don't want to give them my money, but if they're going under anyways it wouldn't hurt to make a last gasp effort to purchase something, even if for my benefit not theirs.

I like the muscle-pig Torch THE LEAST of all the Walgreens set, cluding the Thing prototype picture. Won't ANYONE make a FLYING, KIRBY Torch. I may have to make yet another custom Torch to replace the buff Walgreens version. What a pain! Anyone have a spare Iceman from that recent Kirby-style X-men box set they don't need? There are plenty on ebay, and I may have to resort to that...but don't care much for ebay anymore.

Oh TRU has been badly mismanaged, and most news outlets are flat out saying so. It was bought up by a venture capital group who loaded it with debt while hoping to flip it to someone else quickly (and thus not have to pay all that debt). But nobody was buying.

Why not snag the Torch figure they made for the Ares BAF series? It's still a pretty solid figure, it's slim and there's two versions of it (regular flame on and nova-flame)

If it's showing up on Brickseek that either means someone stole them or they are BSing you. Once they are bought figures typically updates within a few hours.

Yep, plenty of avenues to sell toys nowadays.

And even if the set doesn't come out elsewhere, there is next year's IW waves as well, which I'm guessing we'll see at least two of. Unless he has no role in movie #2 at all (which anything is possible) there's no way they're n ot releasing him in single form. He'd be the only Avengers aside from Quicksilver, who was in one movie only, to not get a figure single carded in some form.

On the good side I stumbled into a random target to see if the thor/scavenger two pack had dropped in price, it hadnt, and ran i to the lizard wave...at 12.49 each no less. Grabbed em so No paying scalpers for these.....though spiderhipsterwoman of bumslide, twitpool and spider punk will be up for grabs.

Thought I would post this, I'm not interested in the black widow bike with so many alternatives available in my opinion better.

Opened up my lizard wave figs. A few thoughts on em.
Noir is the instant winner of the wave. Granted those dumbass lazer pistols were stupid ( really hasbro ya couldnt give the man an effin' revolver...lazy fargin' bastiges ) so one of my vigilantes scarificed his revolver for spiderman. Now hes got a proper gun for his holster. Also gave him an unmasked head that looks like the slicked back noir look.

Prowler...what can i say.... Freakin' love this guy. I had the old toybiz animted one and i loved the design. My one gripe is i had to push his boot cuff things up into place but once i did they stayed. Would liked a bit more secure cape but no biggie...the awesomeness of the design just works. Workin on getting a good unmasked hobie head for it but he just is great.

Mysterio is a pretty good lookin' fig. He was never really a fave villian of mine ( i mean the guys just an illusionist...its not like hes the lord of illusions.... ;) ) but he is a big part of the sinister six ( in one of its many iterations ) so i wanted him. His mist things are weird and the whole snake skull head is...ohhhhkkkay whatevs....but its a great update and I dig it.

The lizard baf is just fun. Granted it would been nice to be able to have him stand up fully but i can forgive it for how awesome the fig looks. And im pretty sure gene simmons just lost the longest tongue contest. ;)

Didnt bother with the rest as i didnt care for em. Had lasher been on a proper sized body ( they put torch on the punisher body but lasher on the slender near teen body wtmf? ) i mighta wanted to keep it bit...naaahhh. Same with the rest. Overall a decent wave for spiderfans a great wave...but lotta missed oppurtunities ( julia carpenter shoulda been here instead of spiderhipster and silver sable in place of gp and maybe...i dunno ricochet in place of spiderpunk? ). Still glad to have Spider-Man Noir, mysterio, prowler and lizard on the shelf finally.

Let me explain how Brickseek works.

when you put in the UPC/SKU/DPCI number or whatever, Breekseek does a query to the site itself. As in, Brickseek, attempts to make an order for X figure at Walmarts website using the pickup in store option. It then attempts to order say 1000 of whatever UPC/SKU/DCPI number you put in. Whatever the site allows it to order is the amount in stock for that store.

Places like Target have blocked them from finding out how many are at a store because too many people have come in using Brickseek as a reference and Target didn't have the inventory on hand due to whatever excuse they had, street dates, waiting on a revamp of the department, lazy stockers, using the same number for multiple waves (think old and new spidey waves using same number) whatever excuse it was. They got tired of it and found a way to block Brickseek.

Now, the numbers the Brickseek gets only works or is accurate at 1 time a day. That is right after the end of business day or should I say when the computers finish running "EOD" for that particular store and then it updates the websites "on hand stock".

This means, that EOD could be done at midnight. Numbers updated to 0 on shelf. Then at 2am, they get a shipment in and put them on the shelves. Well, these figures won't get into inventory until the following nights EOD. So, by the time you see them show up in inventory, they can already be sold.

On the other hand, some stores run their inventory right before they open up so their inventory would be up to date by the time they open. Which would include all figures that they received by truck that night.

On top of that, Brickseek has no way to tell if the store is holding the figures until after a reset or for a street date or they just haven't got around to bringing them out for whatever reason like being short a man or 2 on stocking so the store didn't get to the toys yet so you would have to wait until they get around to pulling them out. It also doesn't take in account for orders that are pick up orders and the customer just hasn't picked it up yet. Until that order gets picked up, it's still counted in inventory, lol.

Basically, every store is different, the more you watch Brickseek and compare it to the actual in store stock (as in go there in person), the more you start to understand how the stores in your area work and you'll start to get more "successful" at getting your figures from brick and mortar stores.

Ultimately Brickseek is just a random crap shoot but it does have a seed of reality in there and it can be helpful but, not always.

Over the next few days/weeks check Brickseek before and after midnight, like at 11:50 and then again at 1am, then do it again around 7am.and see if there are any changes. If so, you know the store has them in and it's just a matter of getting lucky and hoping you find them once they get them on the shelf.
