Any figure you'd be looking for in place of Domino, one from the Lizard wave perhaps? I've only got X-23 and Deathlok of the Deadpool wave.

So anybody heard anything on the deadpool wave ? No sign of it here in florida. Others in other states say the same thing. Hell i preordered the wave from dorkside and nothing yet.

It's kind of weird we thought the Deadpool/Lizard stuff would be out before Avengers wave 1 and yet it's opposite.

Meanwhile I'm just boiling for the Apocalypse and Sauron waves and will have to steam and cook for another few months.

So, do we have any idea what the Green Head/White Head situation is for Mysterio? Like, was the green head only in the initial waves or something? Because I've finally decided that I'd prefer the green head, but since I've only found three of the figures from that wave at retail around here, I'm worried that by the time I find him, there'll only be white heads available, and that the green will have a higher aftermarket price.

Alternately, if anyone has the green head and is willing to sell for a good price, I'm all ears. I don't even need the BAF piece, just the figure and his accessories, provided the paint's good.

I just got my pre-order arrival email from Big Bad Toy Store. I'll have them ship it out soon. Otherwise, my GF spotted a lone Paladin in a Toys R Us a few weeks ago. We're in NY. But yeah, I'm surprised I haven't heard more about it either.

Mine is a white head one, got it from BBTS. There were early rumors suggesting that online would be one color and retail stores would have the other, but I don't believe that turned out to be true. Personally, from what I have seen online, I think I like the green one too.

I think the white head is here to stay.

From what I remember. The original dome was suppose to be much less clear and the green effect and head parts made from a much more translucent material.

The effect was ruined when material changed, with that production changed. However, this was done on the fly as a running change and some of the originally produced figures had already made it out in to he distro chain.

I suppose it’s possible hasbro could do a limited run of the green head of the demand is their still, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Just got my Scarlet Witch/Vision set today and also picked up King Cobra and Proxima Midnight last night.


Didn't get to open the two pack yet because I'm still at work but now I just have something to look forward to when I get home.

If it were still not taken as supporting TRU, even in its death throws, I would work out a deal with you on it. But I just can't bring myself to give them last minute money - a return will be more of a slap in the face to them, and I kind of like that. :D

The nerve of some people. Someone quite literally cut all of the figures out of the package and only left Monica. I took the package and showed an employee, who proceeded to roll his eyes, sigh, and then thank me for alerting him of the theft. I asked if it was possible if I could still purchase it, and the employee said that it could still be bought and that he'd setup the discount. While I hate the thought of someone defacing & stealing the other figures, picking up Monica Rambeau for $5 made for a pretty good day.

Yeah, I was shocked by the drastic discount, but the look on the guy's face just read "over it". I just hope pilfered packages doesn't become the norm from here on until the end.

Hopefully not, but I can't really blame the employees for not being super vigilant. As long as they're still decent to the customers I doubt they're too concerned about the company's welfare. Most of them are, if they're wise, already updating and sending out their resumes. Or just have plans to find a retail job elsewhere, if the local market is decent.

No one heard any thing on closing sales ? The guys in the TRU closing thread are on some whacky shit. It's strange also how many members i've never saw on this site before but they were all chiminb in on that thread.

BTW I'm sorry if I'm having a bit of fun and laughs with this. I really DO feel badly for the lower level employees that are going to lose their jobs. This isn't their fault. But the way the company has been run the last decade...it's been coming. I don't see the company as a whole getting anything they don't deserve, and I'm gonna be a tough guy internet warrior troll and point with my sharp pointy fingers and say "I toldja so!"

Oh yeah, most of us aren't under any illusion that Toys R Us was a particularly well-run business, but aside from the firings of 33,000 employees in an environment where it's getting harder and harder to get retail jobs, it's just the fact that it's the last physical retailer for toys in a market where its competitors seem to barely care about toys, and the fact that for some smaller companies like NECA it was their only physical retail outlet and they will now lose a major avenue of customer growth in terms of adults shopping there for their kids stumbling upon them, and the fact that 10-15% of total toy sales will likely be lost forever.

TL;DR: as poorly run as TRU might have been, it's more about the consequences of the loss of the last major brick-and-mortar toy retailer than the closure of Toys R Us specifically.
