I really really hope Wolverine is the double-packed figure so he won't be as hard to get but knowing Hasbro he won't be. I'll take this opportunity to once again complain that Apocalypse is a BAF and not a single release (even if he had to be some kind of deluxe).

I really wish they could have avoided including a BAF w/ Jamie

Wolverine - Really thought this figure was supposed to come with an alternate more relaxed head. I mean it's fine, if I need a more relaxed Wolverine I can just paint up a cast from the Juggernaut wave Wolverine (which might be a pain in the ass) or just use the unmasked head from the Retro wave figure I still didn't get. I'm just so damn excited this costume is being made. I'll have the brown suit with the 80s X-Men and the Tiger Stripe with the 90s.

Psylocke - Nothing more to say, another character in dire need of a remake AND in the costume that I think most of us wanted.

Sabretooth - Wish he came with a more neutral head, but damn this figure looks amazing. A nice companion piece for either Wolverine we have.

Storm - I'm excited to be receiving A Storm figure and it looks good, but I really wish it was the Jim Lee look or her first appearance look. Still looking good though.

Multiple Man - I'm excited for this figure, but army building him is going to be a pain in the ass unless he turns out to be a pegwarmer (he won't turn out to be a pegwarmer). I remember when Hasbro tried to get us to buy multiple Chameleons, but you couldn't even find the damn things at retail. I'd hope they'd make him 2 per case, but I'm almost 90% sure that honor is gonna go to Wolverine.

Magneto - I'm torn on this figure. I just don't care for the costume that much. Comic Magneto just isn't Comic Magneto to me if he isn't in the red jumpsuit with the purple trunks. And even judging the costume on its own merits, it's just kinda bland. Nothing about the design really stands out at all for me and it's just black with red accents, which is kind of boring. That being said, the fact that it comes with an alternate head is awesome and the effects are cool too so meh...he'll make a decent placeholder.

Gladiator - He's a character that I can't say I'm the hugest fan of, but for some reason I feel like I have to have him for my collection so I'll get it.

Apocalypse - Fucking awesome. I have the BAF Apocalypse (which I love) but his legs are too wobbly for him to stand without assistance, not to mention it's just nice to have an Apocalypse at regular size.

Overall, one of the standout waves of the year. To be honest, the Deadpool/X-Men waves are kinda stealing the year for me. The other waves due for release this year aren't all that exciting (I did end up liking the Lizard wave a lot more than I thought I would), although the exclusives look fantastic.

Ha! Ha! Good luck. I have been seeing Thanos sightings on a local toy collector group on FB. I grabbed the only two I could find the same weekend that the Avengers Infinity War wave dropped, and since then I've only seen them one other time.

MeLikeJinx 04-05-2018 03:34 AM

Still hate that Magneto outfit, but really glad he comes with an alternate head. Hope Psylocke is double packed. I think the fact that Multiple Man comes with 2 extra heads gonna tempt a lot of people to buy more than one of him. Sucks Wolvie don't come with an extra unmasked head.

While I hear you on the Wolverine idea, I hope it’s Multiple Man who’s double packed. I need at least 3.

donmeca2020 04-05-2018 05:59 AM

It's gotta be multiple man or gladiator... hasbro has to know everyone wants yellow 90s wolvy.

I seriously don't see that happening.

Captain Nash 04-05-2018 06:58 AM

ooooh someone's got their hands on the X-Men wave already? I for one can't wait until this goes up for preorder somewhere - anywhere. I know how shocking that is. :p

It all looks great, I hope that Madrox is also double packed because I really need at least two of them, hopefully three.

donmeca2020 04-05-2018 08:59 AM

So what does everyone think? Who will the scalpers be grabbing up most ?

1.Wolverine
2.Psylocke
3.Storm
4. The whole wave

Me personally. I'm gonna probably preorder the whole wave. I feel sorry for the guys that try to hunt these down and get them discounted in stores because i just know this wave will be impossible to find out in the wild.

I think Gladiator and Magneto will linger the most, but I'm not sure who will be the hardest to find. According to the article on MarvelousNews, Wolverine is the double-pack, which should (if true) alleviate the troubles of people finding him. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Jamie is hard to get, just because so many of us collectors are gonna be gunning for multiple.

Either way, I'm glad we already preordered a case at our local shop. Hopefully he'll also have some loose/BAF-part-less Jamies later - it'd make it a lot easier to get the three Madri we want.

I think as far as scalpers go:

1. Psylocke - really great mold and iconic costume of a high profile X-Man (though not in TAS except for a couple of episodes, she's been high profile both in the 90's and has probably had her stock bumped this decade more than any other X-character). The character hasn't been done by Hasbro yet outside of the holy grail of SDCC exclusives.
2. Wolverine - The ONLY reason I didn't put him at #1 is because he will likely be double packed (though Madrox should be), and we've had a couple of Wolverines of varying designs over the last couple of years. Still, it's Wolverine....so he'll definitely be scalped.
3. Gladiator - the reason I say this is because there's going to be people buying him to sell to people who wouldn't want to purchase the SDCC set (though a slightly different design). As such they'll likely view selling this at say $50 or so to people who wouldn't plunk down $200+ for the set
4. Madrox, but only those scalpers who realize that people are going to want multiples. Those who have no clue who he is or look him up to see probably won't care about scalping him.
5. Storm, I'd rank her higher if she was in the Jim Lee or FA costume, and while this is a good figure it's not iconic. as such she's probably going to be lower on the scalp-o-meter than most.

I don't think there will be a problem finding Magneto or Sabretooth at all, or well, comparatively. I think the entire wave is going to be a pain in the ass to find though, but the plus side is there is not a lot of XMN coded product on the shelves right now to take up space away from reorder. I'm definitely case ordering and don't mind until DS gets these in (hopefully June/July) but I'm also to not be able to resist snagging an extra Madrox or two and Psylocke at a fairly reasonable price first chance I get. Just to get those two out of the way.

I just want this wave NOW. Also to clarify, the above ranking is only for chances of scalpers making it harder to find. My personal list is very different, though Psylocke is #1 on that too.

I'm definitely not, but I know some friends who are going. Hopefully if Hasbro has anything juicy lined up, one of them can snag it for me (likely, since he'll already be on-board with getting whatever TF exclusive they have).

Augustus_Cole 04-05-2018 11:51 AM

was it hard getting tkts last year?

hasbroherofan 04-05-2018 12:08 PM

All the accessories on that Magneto are making me giddy. Methinks I'll finally have a comic Magneto I'm happy with.

Boy Blunder 04-05-2018 12:16 PM

Man, it's hell getting tickets every year. Since about 2007/2008 things have been somewhere between difficult and "good friggin' luck". I had an unbroken streak of attendance from 1996 until 2009, and since then I've only attended twice, and only for one day (Saturday in 2011, Sunday last year), and did some off-site events in 2010, before they started requiring you to have an SDCC pass to get into everything outside the convention center.

My and the folks I know are lucky, since we all have ID numbers in their system and can dip into the super-pre-reg period, but even then we do it as a group, coordinating through Skype or Discord and all in the queue at once, so whoever actually makes it in can buy tickets for some of the others.

God I miss the days of being able to buy a pass on-site if you didn't manage to pay $30-$50 for the whole convention ahead of time. /oldcodger

yup- wife loves going. She got me tickets a few years ago and had such a great time that it's been every year since. She actually hates the actual convention and only goes inside for a little bit- most of the fun is outside. Waiting now to see if we got lucky with the Hotel Lottery- rooms are stupid expensive down there. The Con buys(reserves?) a bunch and then sells them at a discounted rate (compared to what the hotel itself charges)

Harbinger 04-05-2018 01:33 PM

Found the vision scarlett witch two pack at tru today. Theyre cool i guess, picked up two. If anyones got a Satana they dont want ill swap a sealed two pack for her.

Funny you say that:

Found in a Walmart in Colby Kansas. They had 4 others, along with the Walmart exclusive Winter Soldier, the entire Doctor Strange wave, the Onslaught Red Skull wave, two cases worth of the bikers, and even the DC King Shark wave.

What is the glove container made out of?? I see the square part is the base of the Watchmen movie figures, but what is the dome part? is that one of those little capsule things from Target ?? and are those parts from an inhailer???

From my experience, the easiest way of getting into Comic-Con is to volunteer. I was able to go two years straight by doing that and it only requires you to work for 3 hours for every day you want to attend. At the very least it's easier to get in as a volunteer as opposed to trying to get your tickets with everyone else.

:) Yeah. the dome is one of those mini-figurine things from target. Twisted it off (breaking all the tabs) and then snapped off the Blackpanther figure inside. Done fits back on just fine without the tabs. The little inhaler looking things are actually pieces that came with the Aquarium gravel grate sets (that I painted black and dry-brushed silver) Those (a small set and a large set) are what makes up the walls and floor and tubes of the dio...
