I haven't visited this thread since Thursday, the 30th. 45 pages later... Wow! Hope I didn't miss any big reveals, lol. I was at PAX all weekend and I missed all of the appreciation/possible infighting. I picked up some Marvel swag while I was there that I will show when I get back from my labor day celebration.

What is PAX, and is there a treatment for it?

MADREVJACK 09-03-2012 03:18 PM

This place is chuck full of Texans!

Not....exactly, no.
Goes like this- Tony made the Guardsman armor for his best pal Mike O'Brien- something wen wrong and he went nuts (the armor was configured for Tony's brain patterns and there was interference).
Later, Mike's broother, Kevin takes up the armor and serves as had of security for Project:Pegasus.
Then Tony lost his company to Stane and, though Rhodey managed to destroy all the Iron Man armors, Stane got the Guardsman armor designs and made twelve suits for the US Government to guard the supervillian prison The Vault.

Tony and Rhodey destroy these in the Armor Wars....and delete all plans to make more of them.

In the aftermath, Stane International makes later model Guardsman armors to replace the ones lost but they kinda suck- they're based on Iron Monger technology which was no where as advanced- those are the ones with spikes or variations or whatever.
That leg to more friction between Tony and Cap as Cap blamed him for some super villian escapes.

Marvel Wiki now owes me a quarter.

The man actually fakes a French accent all the time JUST TO PISS PEOPLE OFF. Plus his nervous system is a robot. How awesome is that?

The french accent is there-and is SO FAKE- because he grew up in a simulator and it was not programmed by french people but by americans kinda winging how that sounds....like actors in a bad movie...or how Batroc usually gets written.

Scythe 09-03-2012 03:47 PM

Watch marvel wiki pay Jason with a wiki link to the US quarter

FancyPants 09-03-2012 03:49 PM

The idea of a french robot amuses me greatly.

Comic question: Which series is fantomex most prominent in? I have I think the first 18 issues of uncanny xforce but really not sure what to get into. I've got so many comics I have no damn clue where to start.

I love 90s xmen
I would like a good spiderman story.
Avengers (When they though RULK being an avenger was a good idea)

Any help would be great guys.

Or send me a C&D order for unauthorized use of their copyrights!

Scythe 09-03-2012 03:56 PM

The latter makes me sad... D=

Edit: to be on topic, how are their MU figure prices.

The one in Austin was a complete let down. Only 6 or so dealers, not to any one genre. Stuff was on a par with a citywide garage sale. Maybe a find or two but a lot of crap to sift through for little to know payoff. The guy running it seemed ok, just not enough dealers with anything good. And there wasn't any Marvel when I went.

D00MTR0N 09-03-2012 04:15 PM

so we all know Doom was not himself in the FF run,but in the last issue he was in,did he return to his normal self or what?its been awhile since I read that run, what caused his "brain damage"?

FancyPants 09-03-2012 04:26 PM

I just bought a 1942 maisto harley. Going to look so good on my ww2 cap. I've wanted one forever, but ebay's been having them upwards of 24.99 plus shipping. I wouldn't ever spend that much on a bike idea. I got mine for 13 shipped in box. I need a good bike for ghost rider. I'm gonna paint his flat black and make him ride of the wall.

fantomex was prominent in Grant Morrison's new 'X-men' run which I think lasted about 2 years. it wasn't my cup of tea so I'm not the one to really help other than point you in the right direction.

as far as Spidey goes there are way too many good stories, as well as bad, before OMD you shouldn't have trouble on that end. as far as X-men goes I'd read the Age Of Apocalypse as a whole it was pretty great.

I don't know, lost interest in FF but I should finish it because, well why not.

He is bad ass in Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes. So cool =3.

Texas is so big, I haven't even had time to take a trip to visit my homie that lives there in Houston or my other buddy in Corpus. Those are longer than day trips.

Texas: 696,200 km² [432,599Mi²]
British Columbia: 944,700 km² [587,009Mi²]

Everything bigger in British Columbia...

Him and Reed got jumped by those Intilengencia bozos and hooked up to some brain-sucker machine and I never bothered to read it because...Lobdell.

It seems Hickman does a lot of cleanup work for other writer's crappy stories.
