Hey so I'm looking at trying to do a 90s/Galactic Storm Black Knight. Does anyone have any good suggestions for the jacket?

So anyway, the theatre I went to erupted in cheers when Thanos utilized the Reality and Mind stones to turn the battlefield into a huge chorus of people dancing and singing "I bless the rains down in Wakanda". Changed my life. |

^Dude, really? Lol. No spoilers, but I’ll say i was surprised at the sheer amount full frontal nudity in a PG 13 film. It was a bit gratuitous. And nebulas robo-nipple! WTF?

Back to Legends talk, reviews are starting to drop for the Cull Obsidian wave, with Ant-Man, Wasp, and Widow looking like the clear winners of the wave. Widow and Wasp look especially good, with Widow sporting a lot of tweaks to the MCU Widow sculpt (including better proportioned heeled boots that allow her to actually stand on her own) while Wasp is killing it with some great accessories and head sculpt. My Ant-Man and Wasp are on their way, and I should have them later in the week. Haven't been able to find Widow anywhere for a decent price, and I'm gonna be needing two of her anyways, because after seeing the new body and headsculpt, I'm ditching those old versions and doing a hair swap on the second one pronto. This has me curious...we saw images of the X-Men wave dropping before the 2nd Infinity War wave overseas, but none of those have trickled into the US just yet, yet the 2nd Infinity War one will be hitting states first. I wonder how much further behind the X-men wave is, because we still have no pre-orders open anywhere. This pattern happened with the last three waves of figures, with the Infinity War stuff debuting overseas last (after Lizard and Deadpool) but jumping ahead in line here in the US (no doubt to capitalize on the movie.) BTW, I've been seeing the DP wave everywhere (sans-Cable,) but have struggled like crazy to find any Spidey Wave figures outside of Lasher. Still trying like crazy to find one more Noir figure. |
yes....definitely needing that X-Men wave to drop for preorder somewhere soon. I know this is only the third official X-men wave but they are fast become my "fix" for the legends line every year, the thing I need more than anything. This wave will be no different though BAF Sauron is on par. I'm so ready for the summer legends waves.

It's nuts how fast things are coming out. It's also nice to see that people can mostly still get figures they need. My friend picked up the new Deathlock figure because that's his favorite Marvel character. It's the 1st Legend he has purchased in years. He was so impressed that he went from 1 figure to about 10 in a week. He hasn't had to look very hard for everything he's purchased either. It really is a great time to be a collector.

Quick thoughts on the figures we've gotten in the past week or so (including the massive RocketCon haul)
Songbird - She's almost everything I could have wanted in a Songbird figure. Pretty much my only gripes are the lack of alternate hands, and that it would've been stellar to have an alternate 'screaming' head. But she's otherwise fantastic, and I love her wing piece. Domino - Anyone who gripes about her guns is a no-fun grump :D But in all seriousness, I love her stupid purple Action Figure™ guns, even if the smaller of the two feels kinda loose in her hands. Mockingbird body was an excellent choice for her. King Cobra - I wish his gauntlets could be moved on his forearms without looking awkward, because any pose where the 'points' don't rest over the back of the hands is weird to me. Also, his cape keeps him from making a good 'leaning backwards maniacal villain laugh' pose. Otherwise, he's shiny and looks like he's made of candy. Perfect. X-23 (X-Force) - Nothing but love for this. I love the snarling face. Would've liked an unmasked head, but hopefully we'll get that for the inevitable All-New Wolverine figure, along with some toe-claw option. Cable (90s) - Aside from the fact that he has useable feet and actually looks like he's holding his guns, this is a Rob Liefield drawing come to life. He fills a hole in my X-Men Animated Series collection I didn't know I had. His guns are stupid and ridiculous and I love them (Shotgun pistol? Six-shooter single-handed shotgun? The giant Future Brick Gun? Fabulous). Only issue is getting his big gun to stay pegged into his shoulder harness. Black Widow (Vintage) - I had this issue with Jewel as well, but something about the legs on this mold makes them look odd no matter what, unless they're in extreme poses. Nonetheless, she was a friggin' steal of a price, and with the long-haired head from Riders Widow on her, she looks even more vintage. Gonna have to set her up next to classic Hawkeye now. Ant-Man and Stinger - I adore this set. No QC issues at all, and even the color difference on the thighs doesn't bother me. Some accessories or unmasked heads would have been great, but I'm not going to argue with having a modern Scott Lang Ant-Man and a Cassie in any form (though I still hold out hope for a Stature BAF one day) Rachel Summers - This was actually the first ML I ever bought, years before I was into the line, and subsequently sold off when my focus turned to Transformers for a few years. Finding her again, at a bargain price, was incredible (she rarely makes the rounds on eBay in her normal version). Despite the engineering limits she has due to the era, she's great and makes my Summers Family collection feel all the more complete. Sunfire (Age of Apocalypse) - This guy has been one of my holy grails since I started collecting ML in full. I've always loved Sunfire's AoA design, and even with the 'flaws' of his earlier-Hasbro engineering, I couldn't stop myself from fanboying about him. When my wife talked the seller down from $55 to $37 (which was all the cash we had left), I was in a state of shock. I was able to scratch him off my list. It was ridiculous and I'm still having trouble believing it. He's surprisingly stable (even his toe-joints are sturdy and hold his weight in certain poses), and even though it takes a little more ingenuity to get him into certain poses, he's still such a cool figure that I don't care. |
