It's nuts how fast things are coming out. It's also nice to see that people can mostly still get figures they need. My friend picked up the new Deathlock figure because that's his favorite Marvel character. It's the 1st Legend he has purchased in years. He was so impressed that he went from 1 figure to about 10 in a week. He hasn't had to look very hard for everything he's purchased either. It really is a great time to be a collector.

That's awesome to hear. Overall, I would definitely agree. The only trouble I have had in the last couple years is the Civil War Scarlet Witch. My Abomination still has no head. Well, that and the Hydra goons but I just up and pre-ordered them from EE unless something can be found before July.

Nutimus Prime 04-30-2018 02:48 PM

There were 6 Hydra 2 packs at my local Toysrus today but no sign of the Ant Man and Stinger 2 pack.

I also have not seen the Lizard wave locally except Spider Woman at Gamestop.

Captain Nash 04-30-2018 03:06 PM

I suspect the problem with the Lizard wave may be because there is already so much SPD-coded legends clogging the shelves/inventory. I mean you can walk into a store and for the most part easily find the female Beetle...from two years ago!Sadly THAT wave is the overglut. Not the space venom or Sandman or Vulture BAV wave. I don't know how retail ordered that much of that wave that two years out we're still seeing more of that than four newer Spider-Man waves.

And sadly I think this will be a continuing problem, maybe not with this particular wave but Spider-Man in general. I get Spider-Man is their biggest character. And they want to have multiple waves/themes around him yearly. But something has to give, because it's become an issue with SPider-Man waves in particular for the last three years. Get your shit together Hasbro/retailers and figure out a way to allow new stuff to come in and get the old stuff out.

Not that this doesn't affect other themed waves of course, but Spider-Man is traditionally the worst hit. Unless of course you have 3 waves in one year of the same code such as what happened with the 3 Civil War waves because I think we can all agree the Abomination wave was rarely seen at retail.

Nutimus Prime 04-30-2018 03:15 PM

Speaking of Spider-Man, a couple weeks ago 2 cases of Spider-Man Legends showed up at my local Walmart. Thought for sure they were the Lizard wave but they turned out to be the Sandman wave from early 2017. The one good thing was that I actually needed that Spider-Man 2099. My Sandman wasn't quite intimidating with only one arm lol.

It's a large issue especially for brick and mortar because the system will not order any new cases because there's already product on the shelf. And most new waves fall under the previous products SKU assortment. So the DC just replenishes with whatever case is on hand. Unless you find an employee who will dig deeper and order a specific assortment, if possible.

Harbinger 04-30-2018 03:21 PM

All i gotta say is thank Odin Im caught up on what i want. I may decide to finish thanos the cable guy as i only need three pieces but i really dont want the lame ass figs they come with.

Female Beetle? I'm sill running into Misty Knight at my local stores.

Hasbro is starting up a toy recycling program, so maybe that could be a solution for companies with older stock. If Hasbro is able to at least give retailers back a larger portion their cost and replace it with newer product, it stands to benefit everyone involved.

Plus it's Earth friendly...as the recycled plastic from the figures can be used to build park benches, clothing, and even more newer versions of Star-Lord and Deadpool than you can shake a stick at...

I have yet to run into any of the Lizard wave outside of Spider-Woman (Gamestop), Noir and Lasher (Target.) Thank goodness I pre-ordered that wave, I'd be going mad now if I didn't. I ran into a new case of the DP wave this morning on my way home from work, which was the first time I've spotted Cable in the wild.

As bad as Legends distribution is, we should count our lucky stars, as it PALES in the distribution disaster that is Star Wars Black Series and DC Multiverse. My local stores are still sitting on Finns and Jynns, and I don't remember the last NON-MOVIE TIE IN Multiverse wave I saw in store...Doomsday I think?

To further exasperate things, there is an the makings of a new army of Young Han Solos and Maz Kanata starting to appear in my local aisle. Even the Black Series Porg sets are selling better than those figures...

Janice Lincoln Beetle is nothing... at our local Target, you can still find Misty Knight and White Tiger in droves.

Hell, I popped into the local Walmart on my lunch break, and I found almost an entire case of Spider-Man figures... from the Vulture wave.

Someone needs to play some catch-up, and I'm not sure on which end it is.

That is true, though it seems to have calmed down here some, last year there were still a ton of Mistys and White Tigers. It sort of reminded me of my least favorite wave that I thought would never go away: the Hellcats and Sentrys. Middle TN was awash in a wave of yellow.

Weapon X 04-30-2018 03:59 PM

Still no Spider-Man Noirs in my area, or Infinity War Wave 2.

Sorry if I have missed it, but has IW wave 2 been sighted in states retail yet? Obviously the preorders are already up but I'm thinking it might be just a few weeks early to expect to find them. Though if they've already been sighted who knows.

California, New York, and Texas mostly it seems. A lot of people are already posting their figs on eBay, with many California and Texas based e-tailers taking pre-orders for the wave, claiming they will be shipped by the 5th of May.

I picked up Ant-Man and Wasp from an eBayer who had them in hand for about 25 a piece, and they should be arriving tomorrow or Wednesday. Hoping I'm able to find two of the new MCU Widows soon so I can dump my older ones.

Oh wow, thanks! I did completely miss that. Something else to possibly find out in the wild whenever I get out again. though I'm iffy on ordering the wave for just the BAF anyways...really hoping the SDCC set is the Black Order. That way I'll just get Black Knight. Good luck in your hunt for the Widow!

*Shudders remembering the terror that was trying to find the Winter Soldier Widow at retail...

Hopefully she's like Vintage Widow and much easier to come across this time around. Ant-Man and Wasp are the double packs.

The Black Dwarf wave is a strange one for me...I typically groan when comic figures are outnumbered by MCU ones, but this is the first wave where not one comic based figure interests me even a little bit.

Ark family i need a favor..

1. does anyone have a black cat figure they don't need?? OR have you seen it anywhere still in stores ( i KNOW a Walgreens still had 2 a few months back but i can't recall which one i saw it in).

2. If you go in Toys R US. I'm looking for the Home Alone Kevin figure from Neca. I found the Ralphie figure last week and want the Home Alone kid to go with him. BUT ..none of my TRUs have it. If you see and can grab it..i'll reimburse ya...

thanks on both..

FelixTheCatt 05-01-2018 05:57 AM

Where I live the best stuff never sees the peghooks. Employees buy the stuff up at both Wally World and Meijer. At first I naively believed we had more collectors around than I'd have figured.

Basically its all peg warmers but shelves of Titan series. Can't stand those. So its online or nothing. Unless its a movie tie-in most lines just get skipped entirely. I gave up on BAF's a long time ago.

My friend down in southern NJ sent me a photo from one of his local TRU stores. I kid you not, A ton of Phoenix figures. 4 rows of 6, with 4-5 figures going back on each row. How the hell does this happen? Here's the pic.

Augustus_Cole 05-01-2018 06:49 AM

Damn! My TRU had several Kevin's just sitting there but someone bought them all when TRU put everything on sale for 10%. In fact, the NECA shelf was cleaned out within the first day. All that's left are the figure stands, a Chucky, and some Amanda Ripleys.
