Right now it’s a split license with Jazware and Hasbro. I assume if Hasbro got the master license they would just not do a 4 inch line.

Wouldn't be surprised if you're right judging from the death of marvel 3.75 and seeming death of gi joe 3.75

I have a question, or two. First: Has anyone here seen the announced release of the Legends Ursa Major BAF? Second: Would you consider it good scale or too big for 4" figures?

Unfortunately, it's waaay too big for 1:18 scale.
It's almost 8" tall and almost as wide!

I've been on the lookout for a decent Bear figure to use as Ursa Major and the only thing I've found is Lanard's Jumanji Big Paw Bear.
A steal for about $15 on eBay, it's also about 8" long, but realistically proportioned and on all fours.
Still pretty huge though.

Looking at that retro Invisible Woman, I think it'd repaint nicely into Julie from Power Pack or possibly Squirrel Girl.

Super Joe 04-10-2021 08:52 PM

Since it keeps popping up in past posts, what are some great women + children characters that were never made in 3.75 scale?

For the kids, there were never Power Pack figures. Some of the bucks can be shared for retro New Mutants. Using some of those bucks can also make some unmade Young Avengers etc.

I have the Golden Compass bears. They are about 7" in standing position. Problem is the legs, you would need to crack them open and swap legs to get a bear that will stand. Have not figured that out yet.

I had a little break from work this past week in which I was able to complete several custom projects. I spent most of the week sorting and organizing the projects which had been piling up, and while I was unable to complete as many as I had hoped for, I did get several projects done which I was happy with. I had to stretch my customizing muscles for some of these projects and develop new skills including some sculpt work with a product I had never used prior to this week (aves apoxie compound) and I even worked with fabric/soft goods on a few-something which I have zero knowledge or experience with. This is the first post of these Customs: Peter Parker symbionts, Eddie Brock Venom, Cletus Cassidy Carnage, Mary Jane Watson, Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen (Spider-Ham was a prior custom). Many of the head casts come from Fantastic3D Customs as well as Star Wars Geek. I will make an additional post or two with the rest that I got finished and then hopefully I will have more time off from work in a few short weeks to complete some additional projects. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Next up are my additions to my xmen group. Included are: House of X Professor Xavier; Kitty Pryde; Laura Kinney Wolverine; Armor with alternate head which came then be Negasonic Teenage Warhead; Jean Grey X-Men Gold; Jean Grey Dark Phoenix.

Early in the week I dyed some Absorbing man legs to match a Fortnite figure body (yes it has come to that) to make a Netflix Kingpin to accompany my Netflix Daredevil custom. While dying those legs, I attempted to dye a silver surfer figure to use for a House of X Professor X figure, and while it did not work out as I intended, it did make an interesting result -as Bob Ross once said no mistakes only happy accidents. I inadvertently created a Dark Silver Surfer. I also realized when setting this group of Customs next to my previous group, just how much style can change over the years. i think my "grittier" more dark style of paint works better on the Netflix and MCU characters who are more rooted in reality. I may revisit this Kingpin with a darker wash of paint.
Also created here are: Reed Richards (I sculpted the beard on a Spartan 118 head cast); Susan Storm Richards (the figure body was not customized by me, rather it was part of a lot I purchased several years ago-planning to use the legs for a Jessica Jones custom); Sentry; Spider-Woman, Silver Surfer Black (from the King in Black series).

Lastly (for now), I had always wanted to make a Mephisto with fabric cape and loin cloth to give more flexibility with posing the figure (standing as well as seated on his throne). Challenging but fun to develop some new skills. In addition, I purchased this headcast for Magik from Fantastic 3D Customs, but felt that it could be used to make an Angela figure. I am not too familiar with, and not certain what to do with the figure, other than ally her with my Guardians of the Galaxy. I used alves apoxie sculpt compound on a Vitruvian Hacks figure and later added the cloth and sword scanners to the painted figure. Enjoy.

Thanks Creator, that means a lot coming from you-I am always presses with your level of output and detail in your Customs.
Sorry for the break in posting, breakfast with the family was required.
Edit update: I am also a big fan of how you can post your photos right side up....a skill I continue to be unable to master-lol.

The last was probably Wolverine (Lara Kinney) and I guess the last non retro Marvel figure was the 3.75 Miles that came with the Spider Verse DVD.

Made my own Tigra from a Boss Fight. Would love a Dazzler first outfit and a Lionheart.

The Vietnamese company making the cheap Walmart figures has released a 6" Hulkbuster, saw it at Walmart today, which means they have a mold available to shrink down for 3 3/4" scale.

Interesting. I'm not sure I know what these are. Any links? Thanks!

Check out Sperotoys.com. They make the Animal Warriors of the Kingdom figures. The deluxe figures of Thane, the Horrid Beserkers and Benghus Khan have alternate bear heads. There's also Belarus, but his bear head has an eyepatch. They're about 5 inches tall, so they work with MU figures. The downside is that none are brown. Thane is black and dark blue (and has two scars on his chest). The Berserker is grey and has white, tribal marking on his arms and chest. Benghus Khan is orange and cream colored with some stripes. Still, they are probably your best bet for an Ursa Major (and they are good figures too).
