These just arrived today...and WOW...I'm really blown away by just how far Hasbro has come. Wasp might very easily be the best MCU figure YET...
|
^ My local Disney Store still has a ton of Antman wave Wasps on clearance for 10 bucks... only Wasps too, no one else from that wave.

Stumbled on a single Ghost Rider w/ Hellcycle when we stopped by the local TRU and snagged it for $28. Had no solid intention of buying it, but impulse and a good price won the day.

Anyone want a Black Knight, Thor, or Black Widow (minus the BaF parts) for trade? PM me your B/S/t list.

So earlier today, my MCU Ant-Man and the Wasp came in, and as I said before, I am thoroughly impressed with both. Some thoughts...
Ant-Man: Simply put, this figure takes a giant sized crap all over the MCU Ant-Man we previously received with the Ultron wave. The paints are crisp, the figure sculpt is way more accurate to the suit design of the movie, and the colors really pop. The head sculpts though are amazing. The unmasked head bears a STRONG resemblance to Paul Rudd, and while a lot of people weren't thrilled with the smirk on his face, I'm glad that we actually got an MCU head sculpt that shows a bit of personality for a change, as opposed to another static, blank expression. My only gripes for him are minimal, and near nitpicks, but again, for some reason, we have another character with the ability to shrink, without a mini figure of themselves. In fact, outside of his alternate head(s), there's no accessories for him what-so-ever. At least the previous movie Ant-Man came with a tiny Ant-Man and Yellowjacket. Mine also had a tiny bit of paint chipping at the back where the top of the ab crunch meets the joint, but it's hardly noticeable and nothing that can't be touched up with a little bit of paint. Wasp: Oh boy...this is the Wasp figure I never knew I needed. This one really shows what Hasbro is capable of when they want to be, and it's probably my favorite female MCU figure so far, and top 5 in terms of MCU Legends figures thus far. The paint color choices pop, the detail in the textures is unreal, the costume itself looks cool, and the helmet is awesome, allowing you to see a pair of eyes peeking through it's visor. The unmasked portrait is brilliant as well, as it perfectly captures Evangeline Lilly's likeness. I really like the backpack accessories, with one folded and the other unfolded, and she even comes with an additional set of hands for flight poses. My only gripes...again...no tiny Wasp figure to come with it! I also would have preferred for her hair to be down instead of in a ponytail, but it's a movie accurate look for her anyways, so it's not too much of a bother. Mine also had a tiny bit of paint chipped off around the breast area, but I was able to fix it with a little bit of gold paint drybrushed over the area. Good as new... And now for some fun stuff! https://farm1.staticflickr.com/962/2...24c690_k_d.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/956/4...5d0413_k_d.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/960/4...a2fa85_k_d.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/955/4...f37eee_k_d.jpg "Ohh la laa....that's a nice set of stingers you have the...." https://farm1.staticflickr.com/949/4...343752_k_d.jpg |
^ LOL. That was pretty good... could totally see that happening in the movie. Since they did Kurt Russell in Legends scale they might as well and go ahead and do Michael Douglas too IMO.

MCU Pym and Ghost 2-pack.
Make it happen Hasbro. Looking at the smirk straight on, I still don't like it. But from angles like in your pics it looks great. |
nice pics Triv

Awesome pics Triv!
The only figure I want from that wave is the Black Knight. But I also want the BAF. Time to ask for parts! ;) But seriously, anyone looking to sell those BAF parts? |
Wait, did they give Wasp the Elektra head for her unmasked face?

Maw and Glaive are definitely worthy of having their own two pack. I’m not sure why they held those guys out to give us some of these other figures. I’m not looking forward to fighting for them if they are in a SDCC set. My Legends funds took a hit after moving. Finally going through all of my figures made me realize how many I need to get rid of.

I wouldnt worry too much. The majority of the sdcc sets of recent years have been released as normal retail figs. Id be fine if glaive and maw were walgreens exclusives. I dunno why hasblow doesnt give us complete teams at retail. Seems like they want scalpers to plague us.

So, with all the different variations of Spider-Man that Hasbro is giving us, where the heck is Web-Man? I mean, that's gotta be the easiest repaint to do, right?
