Woah! Wait for real JA? Youre like an Immortal , you know there can be only one (cue in Highlander TV series theme song).

WoRkAh0LiC 09-06-2012 01:15 AM

He probably means he graduated High School in 1997 LOL. Wait, that would make us the same age roughly... hmmm...

LapuLapu 09-06-2012 01:19 AM

Or hes 79 but still that would be awesome!

Jason Abbadon 09-06-2012 01:22 AM

I graduated high school in 1991 (BCE).
You've heard of Moses and Jesus? Well, they'd heard of me.

It's weird- it's a sorta stealth suit with the cloak from the Iron Man 2.0 armor- but I dont know how it protects the wearer- Rescue was able to tear the boot right off of it, so it may not be armor in the traditional sense but a bodysuit with shields and integrated weapons...a big departure in that regard.

Looking at the art for IM #2 (the upcoming series) it's not obvious why Greg Land designed the armor to look like the movie version- the king of cheap Photoshop tracery is useing screengrabs for his IM poses. True to form, he draws almost no backgrounds and all "his" figures are badly composited from whatever source he stole them from.
Jesus, why put this guy on Iron Man when we FINALLY get an exceptional writer?!?
Gah. The new armor is aparantly the T-1000...

WHY, MARVEL? WHY DO YOU TORMENT ME SO?

Ohhh, that one. It looks cool, but I miss him being in actual War Machine armor.

Also, yeah. Why the f*ck does Greg Land still have a job? I bud of mine does amazing, photorealistic cross hatching pencil art, and Mr. Porno Faces makes another hundred thousand. I wanna get into a fetal position and just cringe while saying the word 'Future' the way Squidward did.

Jason Abbadon 09-06-2012 02:22 AM

So right. And to pair him up with Gillen!
Gillen's Journey Into Mystery has been my favorite book since Secret Warriors ended...he's SO good and Land is SO bad.
My wallet is torn.

Hopefully Land will be re-assigned to something else and Marvel gets someone really great on the book....quick!- Someone blackmail Gwene Ha into working for Marvel!
Or Brad Walker! Or Acuna- he does a great IM!

Man, I never thought things could get more boring than LaRocca's art but I was wrong.

so. wrong.

I am going to get used to that black & gold armor real quick. Hasbro rushed out a figure for the "Modular Armor" (BLEEDING EDGE), I wonder if they'll rush out the NOW! one.

So they update most of the costumes except the one that really needed updating...*cough*FALCON*cough*

1st thing I thought when seeing that Iron Man was this:

HOly jumpin' jeebus, that's an awesome pic! Buy yourself a beer on me! I know it's early, but it's happy hour in Hong Kong, and you deserve a beer.
A Masters of Evil kinda beer!

Also, Goldbug, you can get a (female) Yellowjacket Heroclix mini to add another member to your crew!

Gah. Save me from Ron Frenz's art!
Once upon a time, he was an excellent artist on Amazing Spider Man- during the whole Hobgoblin first run.
Then one day, he found a golden ring in an old art desk.....and he fell under the shadow of Kirby.
The ring (and Tom DeFalco) consumed him and his art became a bad mockery of a comics legend- leaving frenz the equivalent of an Elvis impersonator.
After many years, Frenz was able to cast aside his affliction, but sadly, his talent had been consumed by the evil that gave his career unnatural long life.

Then he jumped into a volcano (or possibly it was the Spider-Girl series where he tried to ape Romita Sr's art- the volcano would have been more merciful, really).

An aside to my rant, that second pic is by Tom Morgan- I suffered a couple of years of his art on Iron Man and I know his handiwork on sight...distracting from stories that would have been epic if paired with someonee with an idea of human proportions.
Here's a clue- when a man is standing at rest, his fingers should fall to the middle of the thigh, unlike the Iron Monkey there.

A lot of Marvel Legends figures suffer the Iron Monkey affliction,,,including my beloved Silver Centurian (sob!).

Scythe 09-06-2012 03:20 AM

You really are 97, or good at making me feel 97 even though I'm still in my twenties, Jason! I remember alot of what you said. Ron Frenz, man. Ron Frenz...

Boba Fettuccini 09-06-2012 03:31 AM

I dunno. I like the armor. Black and gold works. It does seem to be horning in on Batman's territory though.

i sculpted the shoulder pads aswell as the knee pads and arm guards. the head was from drax, lower hair came from thor, then sculptd the upper parts, upper torso is absorbing man, the rest, cable. and for the tentacles i used a lower E guitar string. he was a pretty tuff one to pull lol.
