If we get Web-Man before Spider-Man India I'm gonna flip. All these variants of Spider-Man I care nothing about, and they can't make the one I would actually be interested in getting.

If we're talking obscure Spider-Weirdos where's my Flipside figure to go with Spider-Man 2099?

I'd like to see one of Felicity Hardy as the Scarlet Spider and Anya Corazon's original get-up myself.

Would be nice to get a figure of Spidey's silver web armor that doesn't suck for a change as well.

I am down for all of these.

I never saw Flipside before, but I am in LOVE with that design. Getting a bit of a Deadpool feel from him with that dialogue though.

Flipside (Earth-928 | Marvel Database | FANDOM powered by Wikia)

He's an odd one for sure.

Plz, no more crap 1 panel versions of Spiderman wasting a slot that can go to never before done characters that have been around for 30 yrs.

Where is classic Hercules & swordsman at? Where are the other members of Alpha Flight? Re do of classic Quicksilver & classic Vision? Classic Yellow Jacket & Wasp?

Stop with the flavor of the month 1 panel in a comic crap Spiderman figs.

none of the ones you mentioned would come in a Spider-Man wave; it's not "wasting a slot" when the ones you want wouldn't be filling that slot anyway

I agree with you, but they can't really continue to do Spider-Man themed Legends waves without having a Spidey somewhere in there right?

I agree with some of your other character choices. We do need an Alpha Flight, and I would be down for another Quicksilver or Yellowjacket, but they belong in an Wolverine or Avengers themed wave respectively. When Spidey waves drop, they tend to have cameos from more "street level" characters over the ones you mentioned.

Anyways, no way Hasbro is gonna go a full year without giving us a Spidey wave or two....which means (unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your perspective,) more bizarro one shot Spideys.

To be fair...I was HATING on Spider-Punk when I saw him, but he turned out to be the biggest surprise of the Lizard wave for me. Finding out the character was actually an alt universe Hobie Brown was an even bigger shock to my system. To think, we got not one...but two Hobie figures in the same wave!

Speaking of character themed waves...I was thinking about the upcoming Venom wave, when it suddenly dawned on me that they only announced 5 figures for that wave. Modern BAF waves tend to run with 6 or 7 figures. The last time Legends did a BAF with only 5 figures in the wave was all the way back with the TRU exclusive Jubilee wave. I wonder if we'll see a new figure for the Venom wave at SDCC to make it an even 6, or if they will actually roll the wave out as is with only 5 (technically 4 1/2, cause I don't consider Spider-Ham to be a complete figure to begin with, especially since it doesn't come with Porkrind and it expects us to head swap the Porkrind head onto the Venom body create that character.)

He was the villain for an entire story, ya goober.

jmurray90720 05-03-2018 10:15 PM

I would like to see X Men take precedence over Spider Man in 2019. An X Force wave would be great...

Wolverine
Archangel
Forge
Rictor
Maverick
Boom Boom
Siryn

Trivial Psychic 05-03-2018 10:48 PM

^^With a new Spidey film coming in 2019? Not likely gonna happen, especially since faith isn't strong in what is likely to be the last Fox X-Men movie.

I think some of you blow the strength of these X-Men waves out of proportion. I've seen the last two waves peg warm HARD outside of a few characters, most of those being Jim Lee related. The Spidey waves (at least in my area) tend to sit nowhere near as long.

With the exception of Misty, Speed Demon, and White Tiger. I'm convinced that those figures are all asexual and are able to reproduce with themselves to create more like some kind of creature out of a Chrichton horror novel.

Trivial Psychic 05-03-2018 10:52 PM

Also...I can't get enough of this video...I ended up squealing with excitement when I saw it.

And I'll admit, the Deadpool stuff is pretty cool too... ;)

Nobody. He's taken up residence under the coffee table.

I do need a classic Quicksilver, classic Vision & Classic Yellow Jacket...
Though quicksilver and vision are more likely than yellow jacket... we shall see at SDCC.

Maybe you have, but I've barely seen the last wave at retail, and while about half of the wave before that does tend to pegwarm, it's not the Jim Lee ones. In fact, those seem to have gone the fastest in these parts. Spidey waves are the ones that linger around here. I mean, we're getting restocks at numerous stores (both Walmart and Target) of the Sandman wave. You know, from over a year ago.

I'm still waiting for them to do Spider-Hero with an alternate Blade head.

They keep doing Spider-Man variations because 9/10, Spidey is gonna move more units than anyone you just mentioned.

Hasbro throws collectors a bone every so often by throwing in lesser known classic characters, but those usually aren't big sellers. It's why I can walk into any Target or Walgreens and find a bunch of Namors, Black Bolts, King Cobras and Cottonmouths sitting on pegs. Wasn't too long ago I came across a Morbius still hanging out in the wild.

A Swordsman figure would be cool for completists, but does anyone actually think there'd be huge demand for that? Or more accurately, more demand than Spider-Man?

Yeah. The big fun characters like Deadpool, the Wolverines and Cyclops are moving well, but I'm still seeing people like Dazzler, Havok and Sunfire everywhere.

I don't think that I communicated clearly when I said "Jim Lee figures." My thought was that those are the ONLY figures that you don't see on the shelves. I can walk though into any store around these parts though and can find plenty of Dazzlers, Polaris, Sunfires, and have even come across an Old Man Logan or two. Shatterstar was warming as well in my area, until recently when he was revealed with the DP2 trailer. The Juggernaut wave still has remnants hanging out on shelves as I can very easily find a Havok, Phoenix or Kitty Pride. Even Rogue was easy to find for a bit in my area. I do think the Apocalypse wave is the strongest X-wave so far.

The Avengers themed waves also tend to have lots of peg warmers as well, but mostly because they pick characters not to many people are familiar with many a time. As someone mentioned, I can find Whirlwind, Cottonmouth, Sharon Carter, and many others without breaking a sweat.

The Spidey ones, I don't know...they just seem to move better where I'm at. Outside of that Rhino and Absorbing Man wave, nothing has really lingered (although I have seen quite a few Jackal's lately.) It could be the strength of Spidey's media presence (through his various animated series) or his colorful cast, but I can't see them replacing him ever as a Legends staple, no matter how many goofy versions we get.

At least they're actual comic appearances of Spidey this time around, instead of gimmick based accessory Spideys we were getting through the ToyBiz years.

The only reason I question the strength of X-characters when people say stuff like needing more X-men focused waves, is that if I do an eyeball test, they are simply not being gobbled up in the way that people say they would be. Not saying anyone is wrong persay, but I'd be curious to know though what the final numbers are like in sales, as Hasbro has come up with some shockers in the past. After all, according to Hasbro, Nova from GotG Vol:1 is the best selling Marvel Legends figure of all time.
