that drink is good. i used to drink it all night to stay awake when i used to be a bouncer, back in the day |
A lot of it is I think sometimes, we as collectors tend to discount the concept of impulse buys. While the line is primarily aimed at collectors, I reckon there's still a decent amount of business that comes from people who are interested upon coming across these toys in the wild, or people who might be more casual fans that primarily know Marvel from movies and TV shows.
If you're one of the many who grew up with the X-Men cartoon in the 90s or the early live-action movies and have a passing interest in figures, someone like Wolverine, Magneto or Cyclops is gonna be way more appealing to you than someone you've never heard of or only vaguely remember. I find this often goes double for movie waves since you have a crossover audience of people who are seeking characters from the film but might not have interest in the others. Obviously there are exceptions to this. It was next to impossible to find Jane Foster at retail in a lot of places. |

Spider-man waves are Hasbros bread and butter. While i have close to 30 of his villians sitting on a shelf, there are still more that haven't been made.
As far as different variations of spider man himself. I think just about every popular version has been been released the last vouple of years. I do think we could use a few redos for future foundation, big time, comic accurate Iron spider, and superior. We're still missing man-spider spidey, and six arm spidey. While i have no actual proof on the matter im sure the spidey waves outsell the other ones. |
Personally, I think it is time Hasbro does a direct Ditko or Romita Sr Spidey with the web wings.

Are the new Silver Surfer or Thing Walgreens figures starting to show up in stores? Sorry if this info has been posted, I haven’t been on in a while.

My local Vintage Stock got in the Infinity War series 2 this week. I almost bought Black Knight , but I am not worried about this line. Now when the X-men line shows I will buy on sight.

I wish we would get grizzly as a baf. I mean we got cable and the real domino, we just need kane, gw bridge and hammer ( in his hotrod wheel chair thingy ) and bam instant 6 pack. And that still leaves room for a team x wolverine, maverick and agent x. And we could get the non baf fig as xmen blue and orange deadpool with all the gear from juggy wave dp.

The Deadpool wave is selling really well here though except for Paladin. I thought people would be sick of Deadpool by now... but even double packed 90's Deadpool is still being bought up. Where I am at all the Back in Black Deadpools are pretty much all gone too at TRU, Gamestop and Target. I wonder if the underwear Deadpool from wave 2 will be the first 6" Legends Deadpool to become a major pegwarmer. |

August and September though feels like an eternity to wait for Surfer and Thing. Hopefully they'll show up a bit sooner than that. I picked up a set of "berzerker claws" over from Casting Cave for my Wolverine, and despite the amount of work to get them set, I'm really happy with how they came out. This things are beastly, and they make the other claws that Logan came with look puny in comparison. I'm probably gonna get me another set once the tiger stripe Wolverine drops. Better yet, I now have an extra set of claws to properly fit into my X-23's feet, meaning I can dump the placeholder metal claws I installed on her recently. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/959/4...ba335e_k_d.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/907/4...f43ec0_k_d.jpg "I go...where I wanna go..." A word of note to anyone thinking about getting them, they are a deceiving amount of work to get clipped and set into your Wolverine's hands, and you will need to do a bit of sanding and maybe even some drilling, depending on how large the holes are in the back of your figure's hands are. Once set though, you're gonna love them. I promise. |
...Meanwhile in Hong Kong...things aren't going so well for Batroc...
