Minor/Repaint: G1 ROTF Bruticus w/ FP addons - TFW2005 - The 2005 Boards
Whatever, more of my TF customs to share :) |
I have had a DCD Superman in my JLI Collection forever. He just looks real good there. DCD Gets the Color right. Mattel not so much. He has enough articulation to make me happy.

I just noticed that Batman is apparently drinking the brains of the owl of Ra's Al Ghul. Delicious!

But no worries, I won't bother rudely sharing any more or discussing off topic ideas. On related matters, why the heck are there so few DCUC Mr. Terrific figures on ebay? I was looking since I was considering a Red Hood custom like everyone else, but there are only a few on there for 20+. Gonna have to hope I can find it in a lot or a trade i suppose. |
I'm really fuckin pissed. Crocs loose ankles caused him to fall. everyone fell off the shelf, he bounced off the bed frame and his arm snapped off. His chains on his left arm broke off too. I'm so upset about this. why did it have to be the most expensive figure I own. I just put him on the shelf today.
If I can end up fixing him he wont be able to pose. and i'll have to glue his ankles too. I can count the number of broken toys I have ever had in my life on one hand. |
Thats is just scaring me now. My Batman shelf is Deep so he is going in the back corner because he is so big. But dam hearing him break over and over again is really starting to frighten me. I am so sorry about that man God that sucks. I can only imagine now. I contacted my hook up on teh Croc breaking problem and he assured me that I will get a replacement if it happens.

I gotta look for his chains too. He almost fell on my son. He's heavy too. I can afford to replace him if glue doesn't work, but that isn't the fuckin point |
The last thing I, for one, want to hear is Killer Croc figure horror stories.
|
Fuck, I hope you can fix it.

First off, since it was a clean break and the joints are clear, I was able to see how deep into the shoulder the rotating disks go and I could judge how far deep I could drill without damaging the joint. I screwed a hole as far as I could into the arm joint and found a screw that was about the width of the hole I made. Since the part of the broken joint that went into the body rotates around I glued is shut and after the glue dried I drilled an identical hole for the screw to be inserted into. Try to judge how long you think the screw should be and then cut off the top so that both sides can be used. I applied some glue on to one end of the screw and screwed it into the body until I reached a mark I made on the screw to give the arm joint enough room when it was time to attach that piece. After it dried in a couple of minutes it was time to connect the arm and all I did was keep rotating the arm until the gap from the ball shaped shoulder sat flush with the socket on the body. The arm now works perfectly and has enough friction to hold up other figures in the air and I'm am confident that I will not break it again. The scariest parts on the figure now are the leg joints since I'm not sure if fixing them will be as easy at the arms. Good luck! Jer Customized |

Thanks for that link ken.
Worse news. I was just moving the other arm today and it broke too. I'm probably just going to try JB weld. I don't care if he can pose. I'll just leavhim like i had him. If i'm too pissed with the glue i'll just....*sigh* buy another one. |

Plus, the statistical chance of THAT happening is like nothing. You guys have heard how many croc stories including mine? say theres 30. But how many of these guys have been sold so far. I'm almost convinced croc is a piece of shit figure. And not because of looks/price/size/normal stuff His little arm joint is roughly the same size as a ML figure, but has to be able to hold up an arm that weighs about 3 of them. That's too much strain on the joint from the beginning. I would have really rather bought my mad hatter or something. Not another croc. But i'll check my local toy shop. If they had any, they'd be a little cheaper. |
