If they are not there on the ecrater site, more than likely it is because they are out of stock.

From what I understand casting cave is a one-man operation, and items will often disappear for weeks at a time. Casting Cave does have a Facebook page, so you might be able to commission a set if you send them a message. He also drops alerts from time to time to let people know when items will be in stock at the store. Otherwise, you could be waiting a while, the bezerker claws are among his most popular items and they tend to go quickly.

Ok, cool. Thanks.

kenm2474 05-07-2018 09:24 PM

Hell Yes. I just Scored a Marvel Legends Series 8 Doc Ock to Complete my Sinister 6 for 43 Shipped.

The worst ones are the Deadpool ones. Take any figure body, toss on a Deadpool head...and walla..."X-variant Deadpool."

Speaking of characters currently owned by Fox, don't go expecting the X-Men to show up in the MCU just yet. I'm not sure if anyone has been following the Disney/Fox acquisition lately, but it looks like Comcast is about to start a bidding war for them, and possibly wrestle away the networks and their licenses from Disney (including the possible characters that Marvel was looking to re-acquire.) with a 60 billion dollar deal...all cash (ouch.) That's 8 billion dollars more than what Disney offered, and I'm sure Disney probably was using some plastic there for that intended purchase.

How much do you think the X-Men, Fantastic Four and others are worth to Disney and Marvel now? It's about to get interesting.

Anyways....back to figures...

For a little while now, I have been trying to find the perfect head for my un-flamed Johnny Storm, when I came across this custom head sculpt for Johnny from Beyond Thunderdome Painted Heads (AKA camarodude1967 on eBay.) Let's just say, being pleased with it is not a strong enough emotion for me to convey about it. I normally don't care much for custom sculpted pieces like this one, but this is what I want in a Johnny headsculpt, as you can just feel the brash and cocky personality oozing from it. I highly recommend!

The Thing simply can't come soon enough!

He was even able to commission me a new Sabine Wren head featuring her white and purple do from season 3...

Pardon the shitty lighting in my pics, but they cannot convey how good these look in hand.

It's been a while since we've had a car dashboard pic...so here's one for you....

My Infinity War Black Widow arrived today, and good God, this figure makes the old MCU Black Widow look like a knockoff starring Jennifer Lawrence. As you can see, the green vest is indeed a separate piece, and lone behold, Hasbro gave us an ENTIRELY new body sculpt for this BW. The articulation is amazing on this one, as she is capable of nearly a full split (like Mockingbird) and has elbows that bend more than 90 degrees, giving her articulation in the arms damn near close to a lot of figures featuring double jointed arms. Her boots feature heels, but Hasbro gave her a wider platform, allowing the figure to actually stand on it's own, and although you can't really tell, she does have trigger fingers on both hands, as well as a pair of swappable fists. Unlike the previous MCU Widows though, she can actually pivot at the wrist this time around.

And then, there's the headsculpt. Mine was nearly perfect, and this head for me has become the standard now for all of Hasbro's digitally printed figures going forward. It bears a VERY strong resemblance to Scar Jo, and honestly, I think it blows a lot of the stuff from Figuarts lately right out of the water. The only gripe about the figure that I can honestly find, is that she has that same nasty seam running down the front of her neck down to her torso that the Rider's Widow had. However, even with that imperfection, I'm so damn impressed with how this came out, I'm completely willing to overlook it.

Just need to get my hands on a second one. I really want to see how the red hairpieces from the previous MCU Widow figures might fit onto this head.

I return from the darkness now that I've finally seen Infinity War. I liked it but since I'm not going into spoilers that's really all I have to say. It's pretty lame how few options there are to get a movie Thanos toy that's aimed at collectors. I'm not a fan of the Black Order in the comics and the movie didn't really sway anything but I do like Corvus and Proxima as their own thing so I would still like to hear Hasbro announce a Corvus figure to go with the Proxima I already have. If I was forced to get an Ebony Maw in the process I guess that's not terrible.

I could be mistaken but I was under the impression that the rights for the X-Men and F4 would revert back to Marvel in this scenario since the rights aren't transferable.

Plus I believe Fox accepted the deal with Disney in the first place because there would be less government resistance with Disney as opposed to Comcast.

Fanboys everywhere are gonna hate Comcast though if this isn't the case.

Spyne98 05-08-2018 06:22 AM

Wow, Tirv! That new Widow looks great! I've been waiting for a blond head for a Yelena Belova custom. While I don't think the movie version hits that itch, it's still a fantastic figure. Sweet pick up! I'm also loving that Sabine. She looks awesome!

Yea i don't recall any marvel properties being owned by NBC. I know i humans were on ABC if i recall correctly but that was it i thought.

1. Fox already accepted Disney's bid.
2. Marvel gets their characters back regardless.
3. Comcast is stupid if they think they can out bid Disney.
4. If anything, Disney will let Comcast have Fox's TV division. However, I personally think a cable company owning a studio is crap because it's a conflict of interest. Remember what Paramount was trying to do with Direct TV several years ago? Or Time Warner was doing with the Fox stations?

1. The government still has yet to sign off on it. Until they approve, it doesn't matter what Disney and Fox agreed to, someone else can swoop in and make an offer. This sort of thing happens in sports all the time, where trades and signings are agreed to in term, but end up nullified because there was no approval by the league and whatever their CBA was.

2. Why would Marvel get their characters back? Fox owns the media rights, and until Fox relinquishes them, or is purchased, they are owned by Fox. Is there something in the terms of the original arrangement that says that Marvel would retain in the event of a Fox Media collapse or sale? Michael Jackson owned the rights to the Beatles for years, but Paul McCartney didn't just magically get them back when he died. MJ's estate did, who in turned used them as collateral to pay off Michael's debt and ensure his charities and children were taken care of.

3. Comcast is already willing to front 8 billion more than Disney, and up it's bid to 100 billion dollars should Disney wants to start a bidding war for it. And in cash no less. Say what you will, but that's not chump change. This aggressiveness by Comcast says to me that there could very well be some stake in the Marvel franchises, because why the hell someone would want to put up that kind of money for Fox's news and sport networks (which Disney was planning to scuttle anyways after the acquisition) is beyond me. They're certainly not interested because they see a goldmine in the Alien and Predator franchises.

4. I'm not sure what happened in the cases of Paramount or Time Warner, but lots of network providers (cable companies, as well companies like Hulu and Netflix, which can be loosely affiliated as such) are creating their own studios in order to brand their own original programming. Just the way the world is going. Why pay someone to do something for you when you can just as easily do it yourself.

We'll see. This news dropped yesterday, so I'll wait till more info comes out on it before I make any more assumptions.

Bushmaster/Power Master as the new villian in Cage? Interesting...didn't see that one coming, although I wish they would stop picking obscure villains who carry the same name as various Serpent Society members. It's confusing.

Glad to see Luke, Claire and Misty (or all of New York for that matter) was part of that surviving 50%. So much for an interconnected MCU...

Should have clarified in this scale (or close enough). Even then, with Hot Toys and breaking out of the scale area the options are still small. Just the Japanese companies that are doing it (actually just Figuarts to my recollection), Hot Toys, and the Hasbro BAF (which I have a hard time counting since it isn't a figure you can buy on its own). Basically there's really just Diamond left to even make one since that's the only other company working in a close enough scale, so I'm just pondering why they haven't announced one if they're ever even going to. Of course though Diamond has the time to make Captain America, Spider-Man, and Thor again.

Obscure, yes, but they make sense. Bushmaster (John McIver), Cottonmouth (Cornell Stokes), and Diamondback (Willis Stryker) were all Power Man villains long before the names were used by members of the Serpent Society. But those three are the only ones with that unique distinction, so Bushmaster will likely be the last one we see in Luke Cage.

Except that, based on when Season 1 of Daredevil was set, and the subsequent timing of everything, the Netflix series are taking place further back in the timeline than Infinity War. Hell, there hasn't even been a mention of the Sokovia Accords yet, to my recollection.

See now Halo figures would be perfect for yoir poses of figures holding helmets to their side. Remember deadpool, spiderman, and batman don't wear helmets.

We've already had this convo before. You can't grasp a face mask as the same as a helmet.

Well, the problem with Comcast buying Fox has less to do with the entertainment properties and moreso its stake in Hulu.

Right now, stake in Hulu is split evenly between Disney, Fox and Comcast (through NBCU) at 30% (Time Warner owns the other 10%). If any of the other two buy Fox, they would have majority ownership in Hulu. This isn't really a problem with Disney. They have plans for their own streaming service, but their streaming service will be centered around family entertainment, while Hulu would be more adult-oriented (presumably where their Marvel Netflix shows would go). That's fair game, since Disney would probably bolster Hulu's growth with its own TV shows and movies.

But Comcast is a cable service provider, and you can probably see why a cable service provider owning majority stake in an online streaming service is a huge conflict of interest. Granted, the government could easily impose conditions on Comcast to prevent them from stifling Hulu's growth in favor of their own cable service (much as they did when Comcast acquired NBCU). But because net neutrality's been repealed, Comcast can also go in the opposite direction and give Hulu unfair advantages over Amazon Prime, Netflix and any other streaming services on their network. This is an even bigger problem considering Comcast is already the most dominant cable service provider in the U.S. Essentially, Comcast would be competing with themselves.

As much as we were weary about Disney acquiring Fox and creating a monopoly, Comcast would be far, far worse.

EDIT: Also, to elaborate, Comcast actually put in a higher bid than Disney did back in December, but Fox accepted Disney's offer over regulatory concerns that would come from Comcast trying to buy them out. I guess Comcast figures they can just throw more money at them to sweeten the deal, but it's irrelevant if they don't think the deal will be approved in the first place.

Fox News is a Total Separate Entity. Not Correlated with these Dealings At All. So Fox News/Business is Safe.

I can't recall on the 2015 and before set, but I seems to be we didn't know what the 2016 set was until June or maybe even early July, it literally seemed like it was only 2-3 weeks before. I'd have to check on the Thor set, I want to say it was in June though it may have been May.

Yeah I'm really wanting to know what it is too...I'd really like the Black Order so I can skip the case for infinity war wave 2...but on the other hand for what I REALLY want but I don't expect to see. ....pleasebeAlphaFlight, pleasebeAlphaFlight...

Brownfinger 05-08-2018 07:41 PM

It'll be Fortnite Thanos with interchangeable dabbing hands in a box full of mangled corpses.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DcsvXOFXUAEfVhO.jpg

If it is a Black Order set, who would they round out the roster with? Black Swan? Thane? Thanos himself?
I'm set on comic Thanos figures, kinda hoping we get a decent MCU version because the BAF isn't as impressive as it deserved to be. I've wavered between keeping and cancelling my pre-order for the Figuarts version, but I've decided to keep it.

Really tempted by some of those extra painted heads, Triv. They look great. And the new Widow! Holy hell, that's a great likeness.
