Grabbed 2 sets of berserker claws from Casting Cave just now. I'll try to post some pics after I get them set up on my Wolverine.

Sure enough found nothing I was looking for. Found almost all of the Deadpool wave and considered picking up the figures I didn't already have, just out of self pity, but they were missing Greypool and I would have still had to search for him just to complete Sasquatch.
Nothing of Avengers wave 2. Nothing of Lizard wave. No Thanos. *Grumble grumble grumble* I did however get the black panther Bluray/Digital so I can finally watch it before I go see IW this weekend or next, whichever lines up better schedule wise. SO that's something. Not that I thought I would have problems finding it. |
Keeping looking around for Thanos- I saw them re-stocked pretty heavily at my local Walmart yesterday, so he might be getting a second push!

As for cheap figures to chop up, you could always opt for the black version of the Jim Lee costume, and honestly, with that one, there's no better body to work with than the Vintage Widow. It's a good body mold with easy to change hands, and more important, it's completely devoid of paint. It's the closest thing to getting a blank slate to work with. Quote:
It works decent for a makeshift Colleen Wing. If you want to do Storm's white costume with minimal painting, I'd actually hold out for the upcoming Dagger figure, as it's literally solid white with some flesh-tone down the chest. You could probably remove the flesh tone with acetone or alcohol, and then sand off the rest to clean it up. Quote:
My advice to you is try widening the holes in the clawed hands a bit before you start sanding. This will allow you to keep a thicker post at the base of the claws, which will increase their durability. My experience with Casting Cave usually has them sending one extra claw to practice with. No matter what though...take your time with it. If you are having to use a significant amount of force to insert them, you have not done enough adjusting and you are running the risk of breaking them. There are videos up on YouTube regarding their installation, those can be of help as well. Quote:
1. It makes it easier to cast, since they are very tiny pieces to work with. 2. It allows the claws to be adjusted and fitted for all of the different Wolverines we've received thus far that have removable claws. |

I finally opened my Future Foundation Spidey I bought at my local comic shop that was repacked and the foot is half way gnawed off. I’m a little pissed, but the shop owner wanted to act like it was my fault. Wouldn’t you look at stuff that you’re going to buy and resell? It’s kind off turned me off on shopping there.

I hauled these today. Hopefully I can finish off the Blob over the next few months. Still looking for Arnim Zola parts and looking to trade a Marvel Unlimited Tony Stark.

My wallet is ever so thankful to Hasbro for the limited amount of comic based characters in the past few waves. Got King Cobra for $10 & Taskmaster for $20 at a local con last Sunday & sold off the Thanos R.leg BAF part that came with TM for $10 a day later. so $20 for both those figs is awesome. Now just need Black Knight from the next MCU heavy wave.
Shame that the MCU seems to be overtaking classic comic based figs in the Marvel legends line. |
