Personally I don't have the money or space for anything that big, and like others here, I like having or creating environments to photograph my figures in, so I stick with 4" scale.

CCC.

Could not agree more. Just stop by any Target or TRU and look at that giant frigging 1/12 scale tie fighter that sells for $180 with the thick layer of dust. It's laughable but I think mattel and hasbro are going to get burned catering only to the 6" collectors.

TheLongestDay 01-06-2016 02:29 AM

For any UK guys interested in the BvS toys I saw them at TRU yesterday, the Batmobile is awesome but priced at £30 here...ouch.

Would be nice if there were such a thing as those in this area. :/

LordMudd 01-06-2016 03:45 AM

I think you have Meijers.

I don't even know what that is.

They are a discount type store, owned by Kroger Corp. They are mostly up north.

Kroger owns Fred Meyers. Meijers is a different store - note the spelling. Both Fred Meyers and Meijers are similar to Super Targets or Super Wal Marts with both groceries and retail. I could go one, but I realize no one really cares. :)

LordMudd 01-06-2016 11:56 AM

Well they are both up north from me. I googled them before and can't find any here.

I go to Fred Meyer weekly but whether the get a 5 poa line is seemingly random. The only place around here that gets them with consistency is Big Lots but even then it's like a year after everyone else and it's 20 of 1-3 figs.

I saw 3 Elves from the Thor line at a Big Lots just a few months ago. Interesting what you can find laying around at the right store.

Mine only has Thors.

I guess soon we should be finding DC Multiverse at Ross & TJ Maxx/Marshalls.

Psycho Pirate 01-06-2016 10:09 PM

Still no clearance tags on DC Multiverse around me. But I found a decent selection and scanned one just to see. Rang up as $6.99. So if you see one you want, scan it and see.

snake5289 01-06-2016 10:21 PM

Must be why they're getting so low on Amazon. Batman Beyond is down to like $5 and some change.

There are still some 2009 Star Trek figures at the Big Lots near my work if anyone needs some of those :P

So I was thinking that it is odd that Mattel isn't showing any 1:18 DC stuff for the new movie. They have done 1:18 stuff for DC movies since the 2nd Dark Knight movie.

So a couple things are happening that makes me hope that Funko may have gotten the license to do 1:18 figures for this movie.

1. They are going to launch a bunch of new 1:18 lines for modern properties that will feature better sculpts and 9POA.
2. They acquired the rights to the license to make DC TV shows in ReAction which is possibly why Multiverse had to switch to 6"
3. They have rights to make all kinds of other stuff for DC and Batman vs Superman specifically.
4. They are damn good at getting licensing.

They have already said that they won't make any announcement regarding the new line until Toy Fair but I hope they were able to obtain the licenses to make DC Batman VS Superman figures in this new line they are starting up this year.

This is all just my own speculation of course.

4 or 6 inch Trek?

I am surprised that there isn't a Funko section in the drop down at the top of the page.

Link to this news?

Also, I was watching a review for the new 6 inch TV show Flash figure(which sucks, btw), and it hit me:

these kinda smell like the 3 3/4 inch Multiverse figures. As most of us probably know, Figures are typically sculpted at a larger scale, then shrunken down, so perhaps those figures were meant to be 3 3/4 inch, but got upscaled to 6 inch after the decision was made to change the scale.

Just a bit of speculation of my own.

Also, apparently, the white symbol Flash is a variant.

snake5289 01-07-2016 06:11 PM

^^ I'm almost 100% positive that's what happened. They look exactly like the regular 3.75 figures but bigger.

Nice to hear Funko might be picking up the slack but I'm not showing any sign of hope until I see actual pictures. At this point I may even doubt it then. I'm extremely cynical unfortunately.

Funko announced last year they were doing the Munsters. I am still waiting to see prototypes.

My searches returned that they are going to do
modern linespecially only with retro properties only in the retro style.

I hadn't heard anything before this. This gives some hope. Given the licenses they have I can't wait for toy fair when we see what's coming, even if it turns s out to be dc.

Jay West 01-07-2016 08:50 PM

I'm at the point now that I would buy Funko 5 POA if they would sculpt in a modern style. I'd have bought every single Flash and Arrow figure. I'll never buy modern lines sculpted in retro style.

Which ones? I'm looking for old Spock, Nemo, & Uhura.

It will probably be repacks of Batman & Superman 5 POA.

I know they didn't have Uhura but I do think they have Nemo, I'd have to check about old Spock. I have bunches of all of them so I never really checked what all they had. I'll stop by and check them out again. I think they had them for $3.

The new modern better sculpted 3 3/4" 9POA lines haven't really announced anything officially yet, They have just been discussed by the lead designer in the FunkoFunatics forum in a Q&A thread he answers questions for ReAction figures. Most of his responses were "Wait until Toy Fair" though. I'll try and dig through the thread and post the good parts here.

The Funko CEO did announce Game of Thrones (including a Wall playset of some sort) and Archer for the new lines but that's it so far. There was some general mention of more DC stuff but that could be about any of their product formats (POP!, Dorbz!, etc)

The parts about DC TV shows licenses came up in the same thread and how the managed to get them for the Flash and Arrow ReAction figures. Those didn't really do well in the ReAction format so they decided to only do older lines from the 80s etc in ReAction and do modern properties in this new format. I am just speculating about the Batman vs Superman stuff because they announced all their other random products for the movie yesterdayso it made me hopeful for them doing 1:18 figures as well. We probably won't know for sure until Toyfair though...

I'm still hoping they revisit Flash and Arrow since those shows are still in production and there are a lot of characters that deserve figures.

Hi Reis,

You keep alluding to a possible new format other than ReAction since you plan on keeping ReAction to older licenses. I was wondering if there was any plans to re-visit some of the newer properties that may not have done well as ReAction in this new format and if you also planned on including older properties in both formats or only in ReAction?

At this point, we probably won't be revisiting any licenses, and older licenses will most likely stay in the ReAction stable.

Well going back through the thread maybe they won't be doing BvS :( This was stated back in July and specifically for ReAction so maybe since Mattel sucks and went 6" for all their BvS stuff, Funko was able to sub-license or something...

Could we see Batman V Superman Reaction?

Mattel owns the rights to 3 3/4" DC action figures for movies, we managed to get the rights to the TV shows. It's sort of a tricky thing, but I don't foresee us doing Batman V Superman.

Autobot_Goldbug 01-08-2016 08:00 PM

last call for Batman Beyond if anyone doesn't want him I will just return him to Target

FunkoFunatic.com ? View topic - Your ReAction Questions Answered Here!

Link that was requested to the funko thread. They mention specifically that the dc figures didn't work well with the retro styling.
They also mention one line getting the new improved treatment, archer.

...also arnie conan and golden girls
