Thanks, Lionheart!
|
So, I finally caved and bought a new air brush. It hasn't come in yet, but should be here this week. I had one years ago but never really used it. Figured now was a good time to work on really improving my art. Should be fun.

These all look great. Is that a Fury coat on Johnny Blaze? |
Thank you and yes. Same one that came off of the Fury I used for Blade if I recall.

So the first tests with the airbrush went ok. Definitely going to take some getting used to. Balancing the distance with the spray stream and how close/far to hold the tool. Lots to learn. I'll share some results soon, so far I've only used it for a base coating.

Thank you. I'm still adding to them whenever I get the chance.

Made a few customs this week. I recently read SpiderGeddon so I wanted to do a Superior Spiderman, and I’ve been meaning to put together a Black Knight figure for a while. I’ve been using dye instead of paint on my last few customs, it works great if you need to turn a figure black.

It's been fun so far. I love how easy it is to layer paint with the airbrush. Definitely a learning curve, but I've had worse. I'm trying to remember to take pics and videos as I go. I'll post some pics before too long. Not sure about the videos. I don't have a YouTube channel or anything. |

Does anyone have a size comparison picture of XMen Origins Logan and Sabertooth next to an average MU like Captain America?

Old crappy pic but best I can do at the moment. Hope it helps. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...4deac12f_b.jpg |
Love using the airbrush. I'm kicking myself for not using that one I had years ago. I already bought a better brushing tool and will get a high quality airbrush and a better compressor before too long. I don't usually post these but I'm enjoying the results a lot. Here's some wip pics of the airbrushing.
Edit: Also have to mention that I upgraded my paints with a Vallejo airbrush set as well. So these are using the new paints. The airbrush paint is much thinner than what I used to buy so it applies much smoother. I also bought a set of their regular Game Colors. Not as thin, but covers extremely well. I have some comparisons planned since I've had a half dozen heads in various states that were started using the old paints so I'm going to finish them with the old paints and see how the end results of both come out. Initial prep - white on top of a black base to begin the layering. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...3a644a9e_b.jpg Some heads with skin tones applied. Lot more work to do on these. The eyes need to be fixed up for starters. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...5d923b46_b.jpg These are closer towards completion. Graviton and Kingpin are just about finished. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...a46675fa_b.jpg |
