As someone who had a brother that got into comics (Top Cow mainly), and I'm really just an MCU fan, I'll give you my opinion on the A/B listers.

A List:
Fantastic 4
Spider-man
X-Men (from the 90's cartoon)
Thor
Captain America
Hulk
Ironman

B List:
Hawkeye
Scarlet Witch
Quicksilver
Black Widow

C List:
GOTG
Ant-Man
Black Panther
Falcon

So, most of the characters in the MCU from my point of view are mostly B list with a couple of A list to link them all together.

Hell they might not even have been C-list, my friends thought I was describing some stoner level shit when I tried talking to them about it because they had no idea who these characters were or what part of the Marvel world they came from. I could talk to them about Moon Knight no problem and even Nova to an extent but apparently the GotG were just too weird. Given all of this I hold it against nobody that only became aware of the Guardians through the movies, though I wish Marvel themselves hadn't steered the books so close to the screen version.

I loved that book and I'll admit that I'm not super pleased with how they have now made it match the movie. I hear where you're coming from regarding people not knowing them. When that movie was announced, I remember telling a friend of mine that I hope people are ready to watch a talking raccoon on screen and she responded with something about how that sounds beyond stupid. Now, she LOVES those movies. I'm not mad that she enjoys them, I'm quite happy. I'm glad people just get to be fans of things, regardless of how they were exposed to it.

How this isn't the general consensus is beyond me. It doesn't matter how someone got into a fandom, because at the end of the day, there's always room for more fans.

A:
Spiderman
X-Men
Captain America
Iron Man
Deadpool
Hulk

B:
GOTG
Fantastic Four(Because of Disney's War with Everyone)
Ant-Man(All his toys sell poorly)
Black Panther(All his toys sell poorly)

C:
Hawkeye
Widow
Quicksilver
Falcon

There is no problem with a non comic collector/ fan just loving the movies,..I was mainly referring to the obnoxious ones that feel our comic history is no longer cannon and only the MCU is the true marvel now,try as I may to convince them otherwise and that without the foundation of the comic history there would be no MCU.

100% correct. W/O the comics, there would be no MCU. Stan Lee & other comic book writers wrote the great stories that these Hollywood bigwigs are adapting to the big screen. Tell the truth, if it wasn't for the MCU/DCU movies on the big screen , I'd hardly even go to the theater no more than 1-2x a yr if that. Most of the trash they are spewing out is countless rehashes/remakes of movies or TVs shows that came out 30+yrs ago.

It's like , "oh, why don't we remake " Death wish" the vast majority that saw the original are probably dead by now, and the new generation doesn't have a clue that it is a remake. "Oh, let's make a movie about the "Dukes of Hazzard", who in the living hell asked for that!

Getting back to the MCU topic, I'm all for the Marvel movies & own just about all of em except for the big stinkers like Ang Lee's Hulk, Elektra, the recent FF abomination & Affleck DD, mostly cuz they butchered Bullseye.

Just a reminder to all you MCU fans, the comics existed 1st & are the main reason you now know who these characters that have been around for close to 60yrs, are. Enjoy your actor based figs now.

I want the BAF which is killing me since I don't want the entire wave either.

I expect they will over saturate the market with this wave because it is so DP heavy. Hopefully Bishop will be an easy find.

Heavy propaganda. The post article has nothing of stats, just cheer leading rather than facts or even observable reality.

What is Disney supposed to say? Yeah...I mean the article from the post is just pure propaganda that is simply shilling to appease Disney and their audience.Didn't read the forbes one but I am sure it is the same insanity.

Just kidding. Cannot wait for this wave. X-23verine, OR and Bishop are just icing on the cake.

Tarooster 05-30-2018 03:26 PM

Still no sign of the 2nd Avengers wave or the X wave here. Is Mysterio still a hard find for most people? He's the only thing I'm missing from the waves this year that I wanted but haven't found.

Unfortunately Mysterio remains highly elusive from what I can tell. His online prices are still way too high and I've still never seen him at retail. Hopefully what happened with the Sandman wave will happen and they'l redistribute the crap out of this wave eventually.

jwyss234 05-30-2018 03:52 PM

I was out today and actually saw most of the Lizard wave spread out over a couple of different Walmarts. I didn't pick any of them up though since Mysterio and Spiderman Noir were the only ones I didn't see and I want to complete the Lizard. Guess it's back to waiting on my online order to be filled for this wave.

I did find the Walmart exclusive Thanos today.

Yup, he's the one figure I wanted from the wave and his amazon prices are holding steady at $45. I'm not paying that. I will see where it is in a year, or if he goes even below $30 I might get him. I knew he'd be popular but I didn't anticipate this kind of shortage.

@Spyne, oh trust me i will NEVER forget this BAF! Hasbro has been doing awesome the last three years and every year gets better it seems.

Tarooster 05-30-2018 04:07 PM

Yeah cause I've seen every figure from the 1st 3 waves atleast once or twice in the wild except for Mysterio. I've found multiple cases out with just him missing, I don't think he lasted long on any pegs.

Oh wow, that's quite annoying! Like a freshly opened case and "someone" (the person stocking the case?) holds back Mysterio. Then again at least you've seen figures in the wild. Granted I don't get out much like I used to but I have yet to see anything from this wave, despite seeing a glut of Avengers wave 1, Black Panther and now even Deadpool wave stuff.

I managed to nab one on Amazon when they put them up directly (this always seems to happen during the dead of night) for retail and maybe five minutes later I checked he was back up to $40. I think the closest figure to this is Lasher or Spider Noir at around $30

Or maybe you just don't quite know what you're talking about. Weren't you the guy who said Black Panther was gonna flop because you didn't know anyone interested in seeing it?

2nd Avengers wave has been showing up near me at specialty shops and Gamestop, but not Target yet.
