Gladiator's other team members of the Imperial Guard also need to be made.

How a freakin Gwenpool gets made before some of these IG members do is beyond me. I'd rather get a BAF of Titan or Warstar than the crap monster Venom & SP//der or whatever it's called.

Yup, that's the one. In my opinion, everything Perez touched was/is gold. Similar to John Byrne. The only difference being that Perez stayed fairly consistent as he aged. Whereas John, be it due to boredom or the attrition of time, fell off considerably. Buscema, Perez, Byrne, and Epting illustrated my favorite runs of the Avengers.

I'm a big fan of the Imperial Guard as well; the byproduct of being an even bigger fan of the LoSH. I'd be all over a Smasher, Manta, Bolt, Warstar, Hussar, and Mentor...just to name a few. I also echo your sentiments about the Squadron Supreme and think it criminal that we haven't gotten (at the very least) Nighthawk, Spectrum, and Power Princess. That said, these characters are pretty niche and (outside of Nighthawk) unlikely to be made.

I'm considering selling my Ghost Rider and motorcycle set. I bought it on impulse.

Nearly every wave contests that argument though.

Honestly, the Imperial Guard, integral to the X-Mythos as they are, count as obscure. Sure, there's people who will definitely buy them (myself included), and people who might buy them once they see them, but they're the kind of characters that need to be sprinkled through occasionally, rather than dropped in on the regular. I mean, sure, there's lots of people on the ML team who want to give us all the random characters they (and we) want, but even they recognize that this is a business concerned with profits, and I guarantee characters like Warstar or Oracle are not going to move the units that more recognizable characters will (either through recent comics exposure, appearances in adaptations, or by being high-profile enough across the years), so they aren't gonna be a priority.

I'm pretty sure even most people in your generation didn't know who Gladiator was.

But even then, that claim is verifiably nonsense. In recent waves alone: Namor, Spider-Woman, Spider-Gwen, Sunfire, Dazzler, Shatterstar, Polaris, Prowler, Gwenpool, Lasher, Songbird, Sasquatch and Paladin. Flippin' Paladin.

Agree, I would definitely buy most IG figures (classic IG that is, not the newer ones that showed up in Claremont's 3rd mid-00's run), but I also understand if none get made beyond Gladiator and maaaaaybe (it's a stretch) Oracle. Just because they are central in a few limited series does not make them high profile to Marvel as a whole. I mean, getting Thunderbolts figures is like getting water from a stone, and Thunderbolts had a nearly 200 issue run, not just supporting characters in some stories and central characters in a handful of stories/limited series. Other than Gladiator none of them have been on my wishlist radar at all, and I like a good number of them. Come to think of it I really should put Manta on my wishlist, to me she has been the most visually interesting of all the guard.

Bingo!!!!

I’ve come to learn when a person is set in their ways, there is no reasoning with them. We keep getting the same comments over and over and over. “Too many actors cosplaying”, “MCU lovers will buy anything”, “This generation is sad because they don’t read comics”. “If it’s not MCU related or a Disney cartoon, snowflakes will something, something blah blah blah”. It’s going to keep going and going and going. Look back to previous post, imagine you can look to the future and it will be the same thing. We get it, some people are comic purist, but damn is this getting repetitive. Why can’t we enjoy what we want and not be attacked? I’m a classic collector and MCU collector, and I respect the heck out of where these characters came from as I’m sure everyone else does, but we shouldn’t have to appease to anyone.

Toybiz. Specifically the retooled X-Men Classics version.

If you think Legends is bad with this...stay away from wrestling figures.

John Cena could easily kick Spider-Man's ass in an action figure barfight...

I pre-ordered a case of the X-Men wave, and was sure I'd be selling Guardian. And because of the last couple pages in this thread, I'm not.

Jerks :D

Have fun, all!

Out of that list that you posted, I didn't buy Gwenpool-Spider woman-Lasher, Paladin, Prowler, Dazzler, Songbird.

I don't care for those characters though I'm sure many others do, & that most recent spiderwoman is modern & pretty much sucks costume wise IMO. I got Namor/Sunfire/Shatterstar & eventually plan on getting Sasquatch/Cable/90s DP & Deathlok.

Main reason a lot of those characters got made is cuz they are either Spiderman related or DP related.

With these recent X-waves coming out, instead of that Magneto that maybe used that costume for like a yr, they could have slipped in a member of the IG such as Starbolt or Smasher, same for the Sauron wave, they could have made Neutron or Oracle instead. IMO, IG members can be inserted into either X-Men related or Avengers related waves at least 1 per wave like they have inserted members of the Serpent Society in recent waves. So far we have Eel, Cottonmouth & King Cobra, throw in Constrictor as well. Hopefully Hasbro makes more SS members such as Puff Adder, Rock Python, Anaconda, Death Adder, rattler & Bushmaster.

The IG & Squadron Supreme core characters can be done if Hasbro just does them 1 character per 4-5 waves per yr, that would get you completed teams in like 2 yrs. Same thing for Alpha Flight, Star Jammers & other members of the 80s Masters of evil from the "siege of Avengers mansion" story arc. Figures of Mr Hyde, Grey Gargoyle, Moonstone, Fixer & Evil Goliath are long overdue. There are other teams out there in the MU asides from Avengers & X-Men that need doing.

That's one thing I will give Kudos to the great DCUC 4 horseman sculpted line, they went out of their way to complete various different DC teams of not only heroes, but villians as well. They gave us the entire Legion of Doom membership as well as the LOSH, The Metal men, the JLA/JLU, Doom Patrol & JSA.

I know the feeling. Hell, instead of giving us 4 different versions of Deadpool we didn't need or want, they should be doing other characters.

Maybe we should spell out Serpent Society here so nobody mistakes them with that other evil SS group, the real one.

That's great. But the claim was that Hasbro doesn't make figures of characters not in movies or cartoons. Not "They make a bunch of comic characters, just not ones I'm personally a fan of."

You sorta just answered your own initial question of why aren't they making more of the Imperial Guard by saying instead of a popular, A-list character like Magneto, they could have gone for a character that most people probably at best have some sort of vague recollection of.

That'd require Hasbro being willing to go all in on Nazi uniforms.

Grain of salt but this picture is making the rounds on Facebook and Instagram. If true looks like we're getting more Netflix figures.

I like that figure, it's as colorful as it can be and is wearing sunglasses, which is something I wish had made it to the movie.

What I really want is an Age of Ultron version with the long coat. I'd probably pop the 2012 head onto it's body and have a pretty comic-booky yet grounded-looking Hawkeye.

Dammit...why couldn't they just have paired Luke with Danny and get it over with? Considering that I already thought there was too much Claire in all of the different Netflix series to begin with, the last thing I wanted (or needed) was a Rosario Dawson figure with Wolverine claws...

Digging the Luke though. Hope we get a Danny and Colleen next.

I like this better than if it came with a Netflix Iron Fist. I barely made it through the first episode of his series and he was my least favorite part of Defenders. Claire is cool and she will be good for custom fodder if nothing else. If this set is legit.
