disappointed in Hasbro
or that no one has any new "Epic" news |
I'm not surprised in the slightest. The Epic Hero line is an afterthought at best and I doubt Hasbro thinks it's worth the effort to have any kind of presentation at Comic-Con.

Epic Hero Series stuff is NOT for collectors. It is not designed, nor targeted, to the demographic that bought Marvel Infinite, or Legends, or Black Series or even Star Wars Vintage Collection. It is oriented to kids or their parents. And prior experience has repeatedly said…COLLECTORS DO NOT CARE ABOUT KIDS TOYS. It has been a waste of time and energy to show off “kids stuff” when the majority of the demographic attending SDCC DO NOT CARE ABOUT IT. I see people in this thread making these “want lists” that clearly shows you all don’t “get” what kind of line Epic Hero is supposed to be. Hasbro’s going to keep their investment modest with LOTS of reuse with new assets to be sparsely introduced over the course of a year. This broader “demographic split” has been happening for damn near a decade now. The next time I expect to see ANY coverage for Epic Hero stuff will be either Toy Fair in the fall, or in conjunction with a new line launch (I fully expect CA: Brave New World to get a modest line like we’ve seen with Guardians and X-Men). All that said…I will say that, compared to Spin Master’s DC output, I’ve found Hasbro’s lacking. They’ve been almost TOO conservative in their product slates, which I feel is hurting appeal to all demographics. X-Men ended up with only 5 figures, a vehicle, and a cross-series compatible Titan. Guardians of the Galaxy didn’t even finish a complete cast (Nebula, Warlock and High Evolutionary being particular omissions). I’m not sure where the fault is; Is Hasbro restricting Epic Hero Series to a singular “line” (Meaning the line’s budget and resources have to be split between multiple initiatives), Or is Hasbro simply trying to keep their investments limited to maximize returns? I think Hasbro can do better. The average figure is really nice at a good price…but I think some of the posters in this thread need to pull back on your expectations for this product line. |
Yes agree completely SM. I am a little surprised there hasn’t been a Spider Gwen in Epic scale since she seems to make it into all of the other kid lines Hasbro does for Spidey as Peter, Miles, and Gwen have sort of become their evergreen characters so to speak. I hold out hope that Epic survives to the next SpiderVerse movie and we get a movie Miles, Gwen, Miguel and maybe a Peter B I think that is slightly reasonable. As much as I want a Knull or a Kingpin that is not happening. (Though for some reason we go Knulls wings in translucent green ).

Marvel toys are perfect for encouraging imagination and adventure. My daughter will love immersing herself in the world of her favorite superheroes

Yeah, and then they'll turn around and say some dumb shit "Oh yeah sorry this line of 26 figures has no female characters because they don't sell"
like idk then, make fucking 4" scale articulated mini dolls like the disney princess shit, I'm a girl I don't care I'll buy them |
Opened up a 3.75" Maverick from the X-Men Origins Wolverine line the other night. Pretty cool figure even if my knowledge is limited on the character.

People are also finding the reissued Epic Heroes Series figures. Fingers crossed we hear more news about some more characters soon

I never got the original miles so did not know he had the electric webbing. I had the original MU miles so I'm probably skipping this one. |
Minus the Spider-Man repacks that's about what it looks about like the Wal-Mart here. The only one of the Avengers figures I have is Black Panther. Pretty solid little figure and unlike the rest of the line it doesn't have cartoony proportions.

Me too but since it's Hasbro it'll never happen.

I don't understand why Hasbro keeps making bad decisions and leaving money on the table. |

OK just saw this at Walmart
https://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Iron-R...GF/ref=sr_1_99 Hawkeye & Black Widow seem conspicuously absent from this line-up Hawkeye + Sky Cycle seems like a no-brainer to me |
Bare. Minimum.
I don't expect much from this line. Though I find it kinda funny that Captain Carol is in the artwork but not a figure of her in sight. |
more disappointment from Hasbro Pulse... no news about Marvel Epic
