I was looking at the reveals for last years SDCC to get an idea of how much we would see this year and it was as follows

Deadpool wave 1
IW wave 1 (comic based figs)
Black Panther (comic based figs)
Vintage series 1
Spider Man Lizard wave
Apocolypse baf
Defenders boxset
Medusa walgreens exclusive
X Men 3 (Psylocke, Storm and Wolverine)
Maybe more?

So with that I think we will see the following

X Men 4 (a few figures, hopefully a new Emma Frost, Mystique, Beast, Gambit and Nightcrawler)
Spideyverse wave (Julia Carpenter Spider Woman, Doppleganger, Tarantula, Gwen Stacy)
Avengers IW wave 3 (with the last two members of the dark order and some comics based figures including a classic Thor)
Ironheart (ugh......Riri blows but I know its coming)
Walgreens Super Skrull and maybe Dr Doom too
Vintage wave 2
Amazon exclusive 90's X Men boxset (Tiger Stripe Wolverine redeco or even just unmasked, Jim Lee Jean Grey update, Jim Lee Cyclops redeco [leather jacket maybe? Even just changing the blues and yellows would work], Purple/Red Magneto repaint)
BAF Hulk (classic)
Captain Marvel wave (MCU Carol, Mar-Vell, Dark/Classic Ms. Marvel)

Good guesses, except one thought:

Odds are bad we will get all three of Beast, Gambit, and Nightcrawler in one wave. They are the last three "major" X-Men that Hasbro has not done since their return in 2012 (not counting regular non Arch-Angel of course.) Furthermore on that Nightcrawler and Beast will both take some extra money in the sculpting/tooling department so I doubt we'd get both of them. I can see us getting Gambit and one other though, and the left over headlining the 2020 wave along with Jim Lee Storm and Wolverine (I say Jim Lee Storm b/c I still suspect we will get a GSXM set with FA Storm. and to that, we'll get a Nightcrawler in that set. Which more than likely will already have been done, to set costs).

So I'm going to just guess the X-Men set which as anyone could tell Iv'e put a lot of thought in. It'll go one of two ways:

Professor X Hoverchair BAV:
Professor X (duh)
Classic Mystique (requisite female #1)
Nightcrawler
Gambit
Mr Sinister (the other remaining X-Villain)
Wolverine of some sort
Moonstar/Blink/Monet (Requisite female #2 and the new figure that also fulfills the side team slot they've been playing at)

OR

Nimrod/Strong Guy BAF:
Professor X (duh)
Classic Mystique (requisite female #1)
Nightcrawler
Gambit
Mr Sinister (the other remaining X-Villain)
Wolverine of some sort
Moonstar/Blink/Monet (Requisite female #2 and the new figure that also fulfills the side team slot they've been playing at)
7th figure is more difficult, maybe a third male villain, possibly never done before like Exodus or Sebastian Shaw, or less likely IMO Pyro/Avalanche though I think they'll wave them together OR another ancillary team male like Cannonball/Sunspot or possibly Forge.

I could be wrong of course but I'm going to stand by this as being probable. The big change up could be replacing Nightcrawler with Beast and no GSXM set later (FA Storm single carded).

Did anyone notice that Hasbro added the toe claws this time around to Luara-rine?

Oh Hasbro...you wacky bastards...

I would really really really hate if Hasbro came out and said "hey fellas here's that classic Hulk you've been waiting for, it's a BAF," because he most definitely does not need to be a BAF. Ultimate Hulk would be a BAF but a good classic '70s style Hulk (Trimpe or Buscema) could absolutely be a standard release. They released the AoU Hulk as a standard figure and that would be bigger than a classic Hulk. Beyond him not needing the BAF approach, classic Hulk is an essential character for most collectors so keeping him out of reach for many would be insulting. I know I bitch a lot about the BAF gimmick but seriously if Hasbro locked Hulk behind five or six other figures then what's to stop them from doing the same to a classic Thor or any other character who happens to be larger than Captain America?

I wouldn't put it past them because they've been doing it for years. Remember the tiny BAF figures like Rocket Raccoon, Hit Monkey. Most X-Men fans will never be able to add Jubilee to their collection unless they re-release or go bootleg. Hell, they did it with Mantis, JUST so they could sell us a THIRD Star-Lord figure with Ego. They did it with Apocalypse (again!) Hulk would be no different.

Damn. I wasn't planning on getting X-23 Wolverine, but I need that unmasked headsculpt. Why is her hair always blowing in the wind when she wears her mask though... I prefer it straight down like the unmasked head.

And I love the eyes on Lady Deadpool... wish the Back in Black Deadpool had more expressive eyes like how it is in the comics.

Doesn't a new Emma seem likely considering the new Typhoid torso?

Yes, but to be honest, there needs to be a spot for a never done before figure and I'm thinking she might not show up until the 2020 wave. I could be wrong of course.

sh002 06-16-2018 07:04 AM

Are there only 6 new figures in the upcoming Deadpool wave?

Tomax 06-16-2018 07:19 AM

my pocket will rest, DONT like any figs in that new underwear deadpool wave

Phantomcrow 06-16-2018 09:33 AM

In case anyone wants to Pre order single figures of Legends. GAMESTOP has in store listing to pre order all the SP//DR wave, VENOM wave, and the X-Men wave. I pre ordered 12 figures from them of upcoming legends. They have a listing for the Deadpool wave but are not pre orderable yet.

I pre ordered the entire Xmen wave, Typhoid Mary, Spider Ham, Scream, and Cloak and Dagger. Might go back and pre order more of them.

donmeca2020 06-16-2018 12:05 PM

So while we're discussing reveals at SDCC, i thought of at least characters i'd LIKE to see get thrown into some future waves for next year. so heres hoping we see Agent Anti-venom, Red Goblin, and Weapon H. i know they're brand new characters but i think they deserve a figure in the legends line up.

I don't believe they'd be a worthless spot used like when we got gwenpool or kamala kahn.

I agree with those choices (particularly Red Goblin), but I do somewhat question the idea of them being more "worth" a spot than a character who's had a popular ongoing series continually for the past 5 years... 🤔

I would hazard a guess that the afforementioned characters are spider related where as kahn and poole aren’t really spider related.

I would buy a Red Goblin. I haven't read the story but I know enough and have seen enough to think it's very toyetic. To each their own of course but I would pass on the other two. weapon H is visually neat and a nice idea but the story was so bad it has ruined me on the character - what's that say about bad first impressions LOL.

Gwen DOESN'T have a current ongoing series. Her last issue was released feb 28h of this year...the other one has a series targeted at young girls with poor art, poor writing and less than stellar sales. I see you're trying to egg on this weekends argument, debate or whatever you'd like to call it. Comichron is your friend go check out sales numbers compared to titles that actually attract a larger fanbase.

Just keep it moving son...

DarthKamen 06-16-2018 02:45 PM

8m not really interested in either but I really don't see why they aren't worth a spot in this line. People do like those characters.

They woulda been better utilized in say a amadeus cho baf wave with other related characters. The slots they took up coulda been utilized by more demanded spider related characters, like say julia carpenter or maddie franklin spider woman, or arana, or hell madame web.

Bingo !!!

En Sabah Nerd 06-16-2018 03:18 PM

SPOILERS for Amazing Spider-Man series: Agent Anti-Venom and Red Goblin are both already gone in the comics, having said that Hasbro could still get around to them. END SPOILERS The Spider-Man waves are commonplace for some obscure/one-off designs and Agent Anti-Venom could just be a repaint of the Agent Venom figure. Given the characters' close time proximity they could do a Red Goblin and Agent Anti-Venom two pack.

hasbroherofan 06-16-2018 03:23 PM

I mean we're just now getting Laura as Wolverine just as she's returning to being X-23, so it's not as if Hasbro doesn't have a history of not striking while the iron is hot. So Anti-Venom and Red Goblin are as likely as anyone else at this point.

How are the Tentacles? I have heard that they are not Poseable like the S8 Doc Ock(Which I have). Do you have the S8 Doc Ock? If so do the his Tentacles fit in the back of the New Doc Ock? Can you take a Pic of the Back without his Tentacles in?
