Added the Kenner wave of Aliens to my stack thanks to TRU. Got the Clan Leader and Scarface sitting in the closet. Now I just need to find the time and the energy to get these bad boys up on the wall again. This is why I hate moving, as this always happens. I'm being soooo lazy...

since i dropped DC icons..and aside from Legends I'm really not collecting any full lines now (except somewhat DBZ). I decided to hop in here. Watched the first 4 Aliens movies over the holidays..so yeah.
This is the perfect balance between
1. new items coming out
2. older items to get
3. Not wanting everything

Plus...NECA IS THE SHIT!!

Side note...is anyone interested in the older Aliens toys (kenner) I'm gonna sell all i have in a lot.(pics soon) I'd get rid of it a really reasonable price to any of the Ark family first.

Just started collecting again, and Neca aliens and predator line seems lil a great way to restart my collection, if anyone knows of places to get good deals the info would be much appreciated.

Backtracking is ridiculous so just focus on what's available now and what's coming in the future. TRU is the only store in my experience that sells NECA stuff since Hastings closed but I've heard that FYE stores also stock them. Online stores are probably the most reliable way to get stuff but it does run the risk of not spotting errors you could see in person.

Yeah I currently get them from TRU and FYE, sadly I've missed a bunch of pieces that I'd like in the collection, may just have to keep my eyes peeled for lots on eBay.

Fortunately neca is doing that new 2-pack, which contains 2 figures I really really want.

Yep and with the upcoming ultimate movie predators those core looks can be had without scalper prices or knockoffs.

It's amazing to me how NECA can draw inspiration from some of the worst movies in the franchise (AvP, Prometheus, etc) to make awesome figures.

Dont have pics, but I just scored an Aliens series 5 Lt. Ellen Ripley on clearance at FYE, they have a sale on all clearance figures are buy one get 2 free, I was shocked not only at that killer of a deal, but also the fact that this was actually there, they had 2 of them, but the package was beat up on the other(may pick it up for an opener), so for $22.88 I scored the Ripley, a neca gremlins 2 Mohawk (video game version) and a Diamond select Ghostbusters Ray Stanz, twas a good day.

Just a couple of quick thoughts, I'm really hoping that this is the last of the AVP movie Predators until we get an updated Wolf or a few more skins from the last videogame. The paints on these have been getting worse and worse, with the colors on the Clan Leader and Youngblood being an incredibly bright yellow. I'm also disappointed that NECA didn't give the Clan Leader's headsculpt the same revamped love that Scar did, as he still looks absolutely goofy...right down to those silly, all too human looking eyes. Youngblood is a straight repaint of the Temple Guardian Predator, using Scar's bio mask, and without the nice washes on the armor that Temple Guardian received.

Serpent Hunter is the winner of this wave (as expected with some nice detail on the armor (again recycled from previous figures) and a new set of blades on his wrists to replicate the dual wielding from the game. The red outlines on the armor help it to pop a bit, and the skin tones are a bit darker as well, and the belt and loin cloth look like an entirely new piece.. Unfortunately, it looks like NECA has drowned this one in a wash of paint sealant as they have been recently, so do be careful handling him, as I can see some possibly stuck joints just by looking into the package.

Going to need that Elder predator, so far I got my most wanted predators , Celtic, City Hunter. I need Jungle Hunter. But Youngblood looks like Jungle Hunter just need to add the red dots on his mask laser thingie.

I already pre-ordered Elder Predator to complete my AvP clan. Can't wait to have him, goofy face and all. Bit of a bummer about Youngblood though. I was hesitating but if his armor is that blend than I'll pass. Serpent Hunter looks nice but money was a factor so only one figure for me in this series.

It's not so much that the armor is bland, it's just that it's really silver and shiny, with little to no extra paint detail. It's no different from the Temple Guardian Predator in a way that's clear and noticeable, outside of the shiny silver paint that they covered it with. That and of course, the bio-mask's similarity to Scar's. He totally feels like a phoned in figure to rush this wave out.

It's a great figure if someone doesn't have the previous releases, or if you want a "Scar" minus the acid markings (and slightly different armor of course,) but at this point, it felt like an excuse to release the new "Xeno on a Spear" accessory, just like the two pack felt like an excuse to finally give us the razor net and clipped "Grid" tail. Had I not been a completionist for these damned things, I would have easily let him sit on the shelf, but alas, crap on my vices, he came home with me.
