The sheer amount of legends dropping right now is totally insane. X, Spidey, Avengers, and now Deapool wave all at once plus Venom wave not too far behind. Then the MCU line and the Walgreens exclusives hitting too. This is probably the best time to be a legends collector that I can remember.

It makes sense given it is the MCU's 10th anniversary, but it is kind of weird.

It's the best of times and the worst of times, because this much product in a short amount of time is a major hit to the finances, and if you're not preordering stuff, you're taking a gamble about what you can get and when (and yeah, I know, that's more on the shoulders of the collector in question, but it's still a factor).

I mean, I absolutely LOVE the product we're getting, but I'd also like some breathing room between releases. When it comes to confirmed product for 2018, we have nine waves (Black Panther, Spider-Man 1 & 2, Infinity War 1 & 2, Deadpool 1 & 2, X-Men, and Venom), three Ultimate Riders releases, the entire Marvel Studios 10th Anniversary line, and around a half-dozen store exclusive multi-packs, and that's not including the SDCC exclusives.

Even if you're not a completionist, there's a lot to get right now, and it's a little crazy.

(NOTE: I know the Black Panther wave and the first Spider-Man wave were starting to show up as early as late 2017, but the 'official' releases place them as 2018 product, so I listed them that way)

Agreed on both counts, but it gives me a sigh of relief that there's no SDCC exclusive Legends that I want.

Best and most expensive haha. But yeah, excitement all around. And the MCU 10th anniversary stuff coming up soon too, great stuff.

Or worst if you're poor. Honestly I wish they would dial it back a little.

I totally agree! I just haven't made the time to add some lights to the set-up, and I'm a bit worried about taking these things outside. Also, I need to buy some dio stuff. Basically, my set-up's a mess :D

I used a red CFL bulb. I've had it for a long time, but I think it came in a relatively cheap four-pack that also included blue, green, and yellow. To get the colors on Cyke and Wolvie, I used a light app for my phone that makes the whole screen turn white, and just waved it over them while the pic was taken - shutter speed was at 2 seconds, I believe.

Have fun, all!

I will be catching up on the last four days of posts and news, as I had an emergency trip I had to make, but I did want to share - when I was traveling through south Tennessee I stopped at a Walgreens in Dunlap, TN (think the smallest town that could have a Walmart.). They didn't have any Apocalypse wave figures, but what I did find was hilarious. Every figure from the Abomination wave except Scarlet Witch. A Wave I have maybe seen a figure or two of in total over the last two years. Just weird!!!!!

And here I need another leg from that wave for a custom lol. But I hope everything is good on your end. Emergencies are never fun.
I gotta thank Dr. Kain for this wonderful box of goodies! Thanks dude!

I love that Daredevil and am really happy I was able to get one. I really have no use for the House of M Spider-Man, I’m not even very familiar with that storyline. That said, I can’t help but think it’s a good looking figure and I might not be able to resist lol.

HTS order came in just 2 days. All 3 of these look top notch and the packaging on the Mark VII is fantastic. I really don't even wanna open it and I'm a total loose collector.

I would unironically buy a figure of that.

Get 2nd one to leave sealed? ;)

Tarooster 07-06-2018 02:32 PM

I might have too cause this figure looks too nice to not open at the same time as well.

I only wanted a few of the MCU line but after seeing this and having it in my hand, I want the whole line.

Finally ran into Tiger-rine at Walgreens today, and picked him to complete my Apocalypse BAF. I really like it, but I am not in love with it. It's still a really good figure though. The paints are crisp, and mine didn't have the loose hands like my brown Wolverine did. They finally painted the claws a metallic color as well, but they feel really loose and flimsy compared to previous releases using this same claw type. They wobble around at the slightest touch. I'm also not a fan of the headsculpt on this one. I don't like the point eared look all that much...I really wish it had a wider profile like the vintage one did. I also really wish it would have came with an unmarked or battle damaged mask. At least the vintage head masked head works on this figure, and the yellow is a near match, so if you want a different look for your Tiger-rine, that's a plus.

The best part though, is that Wolverine completes Apocalypse, which at this moment is my BAF of the year. Articulation be damned in his elbows, I love how he came out!

Is there a way to check Walgreens inventory for figures online?
