Hahaha! That was 'stoopid and I should have expected it...every so often, you get me laughing hard, Nite. Keep doing you...

lordbest 07-26-2018 08:03 PM

Someone ordered Namors armour from the classic female comic armour catalog by mistake.

TheBlueMarvel 07-26-2018 08:07 PM

Trues

Witchblade anyone?

Yep. Still looks cool though. :p

At least if someone got him to finish the BAF they could justify that as the $20 toy and Ham as the freebie. Like you pointed out, at least the Mantis wave Rocket is fully articulated and he even had some accessories. I like Spider-Ham well enough and it's cool he has a toy at all but he really should have just been a pack-in with somebody else.

I'm sure he'll sell well enough to people that want a Spider-verse collection haha

Dr Kain 07-26-2018 09:19 PM

That Phoenix picture on the last page is superb!

Based on his inclusion in the Venom wave the kiddie Spider-Ham toy with changing eyes that Hasbro showed off during SDCC I bet Spider-Ham makes a cameo appearance in the Spider-Verse movie. He might breakout like Rocket Racoon and Groot.

Probably more than a cameo. They even announced that John Mulaney is voicing him.

No kidding? I hadn't heard that. I was just guessing in hopes that I could say "I told you so" after the movie comes out. 😉 I didn't read a ton of Spider-Ham comics when I was a kid but I remember him fondly. I was pretty jazzed when he popped up in the Spider-Verse comics and I'm looking forward to seeing him in the movie although I don't think I can bring myself to spend $20 on a mini figure with so little articulation. Maybe he'll take off as a character and we'll get a better figure in the future.

From what I read about the Into the Spider-verse panel at SDCC apparently Spider-Ham showed up at the end of the footage shown alongside Noir and Penny Parker. At any rate he deserves better than 8 movable parts for $20.

Jeddostotle7 07-27-2018 02:59 AM

Does anyone have the SDCC 2018 Defenders pack, and is willing to part with Colleen Wing and/or the unmasked Matt Murdock head? If so, hit me up.

I would have those same concerns if I didn't have the Star Wars: The Black Series ANH Leia. Due to the fact her whole dress is fabric, they decided to give her double elbows and bicep swivel, and it works out fine, even on as tiny a figure as her.

Thanks Nite!

I really need to pull my Elite Scale ring out next time I do a shot like this...

SymbiSpidey 07-27-2018 08:03 AM

Never realized how close we are to a complete X-Men Blue and Gold lineup in updated Legends form with accurate costumes. We have:

X-Men Blue:

Cyclops
Wolverine
Psylocke
Gambit
Rogue

We need Beast and Jubilee. For X-Men Gold:

Archangel
Bishop
Jean Grey (could definitely use an update though)

We need Storm (who's been teased), Colossus and Iceman. Probably an updated Jean Grey too though I fear we won't see that anytime soon.

Captain Nash 07-27-2018 08:11 AM

Anxiety kicking into overdrive, every new email I get I am hopeful that it's a shipping notice from Dorkside. :(

That's so exciting! At first I read that as "we need" the ones you listed like Rogue, etc I was going to say...don't expect anything more accurate than what we've got, but then I reread your statement. I think Colossus should be an easy repaint and with the hint from the panel about JL Storm that really only leaves a classic Iceman.

I'm probably of the minority here but if we could just a Marrow we'd also get the late 90's team done, too.

Boy Blunder 07-27-2018 09:16 AM

I didn't realize just how close we were to having the full Blue and Gold teams, either. I know I'm one of the few people who doesn't really feel the need for another Iceman, but at the same time I wouldn't be opposed (especially if they did a slightly more 'chiseled' Bobby from right after Emma really unlocked his potential - I loved the second Toy Biz Iceman from the old X-Men line that was based on that design).

I would scream if we got a Marrow. I still have my old Generation X Marrow proudly on display. I'd prefer the green-and-blue costume (and matching bone growth design) from the first half of her run with the team, but at this point, I wouldn't be picky (so long as it's not the 'pretty' version from the second half).

Honestly, I'd be all over some late 90s X-Men. Cannonball in his blue and gold 'togs, Cecilia Reyes and Joseph in the standard uniforms (or, as a joke, Cecilia in the green-and-orange costume Hank borrowed from the Wasp for, like, one issue), Maggott, X-Man... just load me up, man.

yes to all that! Even Joseph and Maggott, who I never cared for. But let's face it at this point I'd be buying figures of X-characters I don't like simply becuase they're X-characters, unless of course they were in some super hard to get exclusive set. I never did try to get that con exclusive Feral from the 90's toy biz days.

I'm in the same boat. I figure that, as long as they're back on making X-Characters, I'll support the hell out of every wave I can that has them in it, if only in the hopes that it helps sales just enough to continue warranting X-Waves (yeah, I got some pumped-up self importance, what of it? :D) It's part of the reason I'm buying these friggin' Deadpool waves, even if I don't personally want more Deadpool figures.

Oh man, that Feral... one thing I actually really appreciate, even in hindsight, about that era of toys, was how weirdly varied it was, and how even off-the-wall characters could get figures as exclusives through the ToyFare magazine, even if they were pretty chincy slapjobs in some cases. I think I still have my ToyFare-exclusive Multiple Man sitting around somewhere, back when you could also win those figures at the Wizard booth's prize wheel on the daily.

Trivial Psychic 07-27-2018 09:36 AM

Ran into some remnants of the Cull wave at Walmart this morning...sorta...

https://farm1.staticflickr.com/857/4...8bc35f_k_d.jpg

At least they left the BAF leg with their shitty custom...so that's a plus...

Oh wow, I really wanted that MM figure! Kind of why I'm so glad we're finally getting him this year (week? month? maybe?...c'mon Hasbro get this to Dorkside.)

I loved the fact that line had so many oddball and relatively minor characters like Tusk, Comcast, but there were some glaring omissions too - almost all female - no Siryn, Boomer, Karma, Moonstar - none of which have had a figure EVER IIRC. On the other hand there are definitely days that I think about my collection and the only reason I still am hanging on to most of it is if I ever want to display it, I have display scale accurate Exodus. :p if we ever get a ML Exodus I might seriously have to think about parting with most of that collection. Not the deluxe figures though. I'm keeping my onslaught Apocalypse.
